  1. I'll build it as is and go from there, I already have a wide and a super wide g6-01's!
  2. Around that! A lot of bearings indeed!
  3. To enable a larger more involved build I have everything now to build a dynahead G6-01TR with tracks. This will probably make it the most involved tamiya buggy ever! I've built a few dynaheads and built a quadtrack so this will be a nice combo
  4. Wouldn't the thrust bearing be the same as the ones Inc in the boomerang rere kits??? Tamiya 53136??? Tamiya 84174 5mm disc springs? From the astute etc Both on eBay etc
  5. In my running experience only be concerned with the upper arm mounts that attach to the gearboxes, 3x22, one of which needs trimming (see my thundershot in my showroom) the others are not necessary
  6. Yes tshot and tdragon the same except body and front body mount (rotated 180°) The above applies for original and rere models. The tshot rerere (2022) has CVA V2 shocks, motor mount and painted body differences Fire dragon original has extra step pins (like original terra scorcher) which are replaced with normal screw pins on all other versions. Fire dragon rere 2008 is same as original except screw pins as mentioned above Fire dragon rerere (2020) and Saint dragon the same except body and CVA V2 shocks on Saint plus the extra rear body mount. Terra original has original universal shafts but rere has CVD modern equivalents That is most of the differences off the top of my head!
  7. All the bodies for the Thundershot chassis buggies are/were available, the Saint dragon clear body option I'd expect to join the others soon
  8. It's my favourite chassis, still running a vintage 1987 thundershot and rere tera scorcher....the a5 hasnt broken because I always run with the support plate over the top of the a5. With that third part hopup in place my thundershot has over 100 hours through it without issue. The issue eventually becomes that the other screw pins crack the gearbox mounts for the arms, so this can be avoided to a large degree by replacing all the screw pins with steel shafts and e clips
  9. I bought the gf-01 land cruiser when released originally (with unpainted body). I tortured the body on every drive and scratched it up but it never split like that, I found it to be really strong and as I recall never noticed any point or part of the body that I felt was too thin. Maybe either that batch of prepainted bodies has been produced too thin and/or the painting process has affected it.
  10. Core RC 4000mah oval type stick pack from modelsport
  11. AFAIK tamiya 53619 sets are only in a set of 4, without springs? If using kit springs I'd recommend three hole pistons - it's medium to stiff but better than stock. My favourite setup is my dynahead setup as a G6-01 with 53619 CVA shocks, comical buggy arms and TRF white spring set, all yellow medium springs. This provides a buggy which has a lot of leaning when cornering without flipping. In this instance I've found the rear wheels lift when cornering so would benefit possibly from stiffer springs and/or diff putty to semi lock the diff. Longer shocks are a pain, even with a g6-01 with wt-01 arms (my a60h hauler is setup this way, just rebuilt them again). I use a y cable, it's fine, the rears turn less by default compared to the front Front shocks need an external limiter on the shock shaft to ensure the steering rods don't slam into the chassis Most of this info is attached to my showroom descriptions of my 6 wheelers @whahooo
  12. 2x sets of 53619 tamiya CVA shouldn't cost that much (have to use kit springs)
  13. So far so good with full ball bearings in my quadtrack, not used it since November because I'm moving home and packing up. The only issue running was that the standard 540 motor gets hot after 10 mins of full running, need more tweaking and testing. Received a few track kits for a potential g6-01tr 6 track build in the future
  14. Would like to see.. G6-01TR 6 track kit with new body. Or G8-01
  15. Hello has anyone had a chance to look at this? @netsmithUK @TWINSET Or other mods? It must be really frustrating to not have access but no-one answering? Thank you in advance

  17. Tamiyaclub subsriber @HornetRacer 1971 has asked me to put this message on because suddenly in the last few days he hasn't been able to login to the main site or forum? He has tried a password reset but it takes him to the login page. He is using win10, brave browser (which has been fine for years) @netsmithUK
  18. Any chance of the manual for 54948? Please!
  19. Tamiya released a pic of exactly that on the king yellow
  20. Yes, same as modern dt-03 etc but yellow. Wierd that they released the limited editions with the older type, except the Saint dragon? Although I prefer the older type for a rere (rerere!) I'm glad it's coming back again
  21. Shocks are CVA V2, same as new Saint dragon
  22. Mmmm mine doesn't flip with 2s lipo, 13t pinion and bz motor....but yes the tyres wear quickly! When bald they are even more fun with easy power sliding

  24. @Dug180 I usually run a 4000mah lipo, for approx. 30mins run on tarmac and a bit of grass...I would have thought that was an average run, I like to run multiple cars so they each get 30 mins or so each time
