  1. Runners all sorted and batteries charged. Have even put my hand in my pocket and joined BRCA. Despite what's happened, am looking forward to a good meet tomorrow. Cheers john and mark for all the effort you've both put into these meets and for sorting an alternative venue at such short notice.

  2. Thanks for the complements.

Took a lot of effort to get the paint to stick to the Holiday buggy body, but it can be done.

There's a guide on the Tamiya USA site if anybody is interested.

Will just have to think of a new scheme for next year now.

Big, big, thank you to Lee Davies for organising this event.

I'm sure it must have taken a great deal of time and effort, and it was an absolutely epic day!

    Roll on next year!

  3. Congratulations John on a superb day and raising all that money for charity!

Was fantastic seeing all those vintage cars racing!

Especially enjoyed watching the 79 to 88 heats.

I gradually got smoother and quicker with my Supershot over the course of the day, but some of those pro racer guys really were in a different league!

Here's hoping to another revival next year.

    I want another go!

  4. Well have finally got myself booked in.

Am going to be running my Wild One and Supershot.

    Really looking forward to this!

To anyone who hasn't raced before and is unsure about entering, let me say that last years Dt02 event was the first time that I had been on a track. Sure, my driving sucked, but it was great fun and a brilliant day out!

At the revival you're going to be racing with like minded people of a similar ability.

This promises to be a fantastic event, so blow the dust off those models and get yourselves entered!

  5. Well, really enjoyed my 1st Clumber meet. Had a great day out, and was good to meet some new people. Wish I had done it years ago when I first started following this thread!

No major casualties from the day. Not bad considering everything went off the ramp. Just a broken Hornet wing and a rather noisy Blackfoot transmission. Was great to give her a run again though!

Will be there on the 8th of December.

  6. A big thanks to all involved in organising the event!

Was unsure whether or not to attend, having never raced before and it being a fair old drive, but am so glad that I did.

Had a great time and met some great people.

Thanks Smitchos for helping me out with the Desert Gator after I broke a rear shock on its first run and also helping to improve its horrendous understeer.

Apologies to all those that I crashed into. I think that was pretty much everyone I raced against!

My suspicions were confirmed. My driving really did suck!

Great to meet you all, and hope there's another event next year!

  7. Well, I've finally got myself booked in.

Have managed to get myself a Desert Gator off the bay, so will be running in both the mod and the stock classes.

Just need to give it a strip down and rebuild and get out and practice my driving.

    See you all there.

  8. Hi,

There is a fequencies text box with the booking on-line. I suggest you enter your preferred frequency next to each car/entry with each car booking. However, as there are likely to be many 27 and maybe 40Mhz entries, if you got other crystal sets, please bring them. Hopefully the pre-booking system will sort this out but there is a possiblity of frequency jiggling at the start (and maybe during) the day by Race Control for heats and then final.

Although I'm using 2.4G I'll bring my selection of Xtals with me, it someone needs to borrow, but again I suggest you remove and bring all of your Xtals from your other rc cars, so you have a selection for the day.

I would also suggest that as a minimum, having as many packs as you can, but atleast 2 battery packs per car. This way you can be using one, whilst another is charging. But again, if you've got them, bring them (and of course charge all of them before the day).

I hope this helps, see you there!

    Hi Guys

    Thanks for all the replies..

Have managed to get the day off work, so will definitely be attending .

Will be running in the stock, and possibly in the mod. Just depends on funds as I will need to get myself another car for this.

Looking forward to it, and getting to meet you all.

  9. Hi Guys

I'm thinking of getting myself down to this event, but have never raced before and have a couple of questions.

Firstly, I am still using 27 mhz. When booking in online , do I have to state which crystals I own? or do I bring all that I have and they're designated on the day?

Also, I'm thinking of running in both the standard and the mod class.

Having never raced before I have no idea how many batteries I would need to bring? I have 5 3700nimh batteries. Would this be enough with a quick charger?

Thanks. Apologies if they're daft questions.

  10. Hi guys

Long time lurker, first time poster here.

I have been using the site for the past 6 years and have finally got around to joining, and thought it about time that I said hello!

I rediscovered my love for Tamiya back in about 2005 when I found my old Blackfoot up in the loft.

Since then my collection has steadily grown with a fleet of mainly re-releases. However, its still very modest compared to some of the collections in the club.

Not got myself a showroom sorted out yet. Am a bit of a technophobe! Have only just figured out how to send an email! , so one step at a time.

Have just bought myself a Holiday Buggy and am planning on attending the DT02 event in September, so hopefully will get to meet some of you then.
