  1. Hi i heard that tamiya shells tend to break easily when racing, and even though hpi and protoform dont have as much detail as tamiya, they will last longer.
  2. Thanks WIllychang. I'll prob go for a HPI or a protofrom, its hard to choose, ill prob end up smashin it up anyway, but thats beside the point...[8D] lol
  3. [] sounds like you've done a lot to your TT01, does it run well?
  4. Im going to put capactitors on mine asap, cheers [] Chris
  5. thanks terry [] the only thing now is deciding which one of those nice shells to buy! [][|)] Chris
  6. I quite like this one, I hope this fits alright. All they say is fits 190mm [?] what if it dont fit the wheels or something. I think ill have a look in my LHS cause i think he has some there, see if they fit. Chris
  7. These protoform shells say "Made to fit all popular 190mm sedans, it also meets all ROAR, BRCA and EFRA specs. " Would they be ok? i take it you drill your own holes according to your chassis. Chris
  8. Thanks! Ill have a look now[] wow look at this MG Dont think its been released yet
  9. Hi was wondering if any other make of rc cars does body shells that will fit my TT01 as I was told other makes like HPI and losi etc have more 'crash forgiving' shells and are often a lot cheaper. Such as this HPI bodyshell - 200mm, il ahve to check the length of mine. HP7431 HPI MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE 200MM BODY Supplied clear I dont get the 200mm measurement? [?] what bit is measured? Thanks [] Chris
  10. what i also learnt today was not to drive straight into concrete walls, cause it kinda breaks your bodyshell... [8)][xx(] lol nevermind, spose it looks more like a rally car now [] I now have my ESC mounted on top of my battery 'holder' which has decreased interferance. I used tape at first which did't really hold it very well, and so it now has 2 screws which keep it nicely attached to the chassis [] - Chris
  11. Hi , I think that using the tamiya manual to put everything in teh places it states is fine when building the car stock, with mecahnical speed controlelr etc, buyt once you start to upgrade the speed controlelr, motor and so on, there is the chance of more interferance when using different components, and so it si then up to you to find the best places to put your receiever, ESC, antenna etc. It all depends on your car and the equipment you use. (So i have learnt today! [8D]) Chris
  12. Went over to my local race club at an outdoor track which I haven't been to before, to see what it was like. When i tried my car in the practices, I was getting really bad interference [] and the car was all over the place. But... got talking to some guys next to me who helped me by changing my Esc to the other side of the chassis etc and moving mottor wires away and the performance began to improve. After a few more frustrating practices someone said to try moving the aerial from the back of the car up to the front and what a brilliant idea!!![] My car was working great. i wouldn't have thought moving one thing like that would help but I see know that u have to keep the aerial as far as posssible from the motor wires etc. [8D] So in the end i didn't get to race, but at least i sorted out my problem and I'll be able to start racing next week when the new league begins...[] bring it on! [^][^]
  13. Yeah i wouldnt pay full price if I werent getting them cheaper (they retail at £60 in UK) and Im getting them for half that price [][]
  14. yeah i think so. from tamiya anway []
  15. yay [] my LHS can get the trf dampers in from hongkong for a similar price... plus theyl be the blue ones instead of red to match my car. nothing like a good bargain
  16. Thanks for the info [] but I probably wont bother as I done a 'try before you buy' in my LHS and so when I saw they wouldn't fit, they said not to worry and theyl just keep them as stock for the shop. So i havent wasted any money [] going to see if my LHS dealer can get the tamiya super low frictions off ebay for me as Im not quite old enough yet to buy over the net. lol Thanks again, Chris.
  17. Do you know if he sells the blue ones aswell as the red ones, coz my cars got blue n yellow n it would be good if the dampers could match. If not, at £26 i'll get the red ones !! ---------- emailed him a while ago, said he's sold out of blue but he sells silver aswell as red. hmmm, now im stuck, silver, red, silver, red lol
  18. Hi yeah is this the guy? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...1&category=2565 looked at the feedback people have left, seems like a good deal/service etc. £26 is well good price! £60 retail, thats a saving of 50% with p&p. If p&p is $6 then will it be less for UK or more? Do you live in UK aswell or r u in USA. Chris
  19. Just went to my LHS as they got the carson shocks in for me... turns out they dont fit my car, the shocks are too long for it. They were so nice aswell and a lot cheaper than the £60 tamiya ones. Im going to search for some more like these - [8D] http://www.rccarsandtrucks.co.uk/551_1_1035263.html when it says the size is 50mm is that the measure of the entire shock, or just the 'inside' bit where the spring is held. [8)] my entire shock (TT01) from top to bottom measures 60mm, and the 'spring part' measures 30mm. [?] Are there any other makes, such as yokomo etc which sell shocks like the ones pictured abvove and that will fit my TT01 chassis? [] Thx, Chris
  20. Hi its the TT01, the motor mount has 8 hole evenly placed around, but it doesn't have the 'pairs' like on the motor and so i was a bit confused as to how it was supposed to go.
  21. hi, thanks. yeah I just checked and thats how i have it top right/bottom left, or top left/bottom right. Im going to take my car to LHS tomoroow and see if the sound its making is ok, and get them to have a look at it. thanks
  22. I dont think it can though, coz it if i were to say mount it in the top left hole (of the double holes) then its not possible to mount the second in the bottom hole directly opposite , as the holes wont line up [8)]
  23. With my old standard 540 motor it was easy to see what holes to fix the motor onto the motor mount with however with my new motor, instead of having one hole at top and one hole at bottom, it has two holes at top and two holes at bottom, and they are not the same position as the 540. I am using the same pinion (19T) which came with the kit, and I have experimented with different 'hole combinations' to find one which seems to fit ok, but im not sure its right [8)] the gearbox does make a loud 'chatty' sound which doesnt seem normal. im using a psk2 motor. I could add pics if no-on understands what i mean. Cheers
  24. Yeah you should really look at getting a new speed controlelr if you're wanting to upgrade your motor. Otherwise I think the mechanical speed controller you ahve at the mo could overheat with its resistor, when highr currents are going through it.
  25. Hi with my TT01, i full ballraced it when I built it, and then put in an mtroniks Eco20 ESC from an older car which works great. I have heard some people complaining about mtroniks ESC but I have seen no problems with mine [] I then upgraded my motor to a p2k2 (a team paradigm) which is alot faster thn the standard 540. []
