yeah thanks Sjoerd. At the level im at at the mo, all i need is a decent pair of oil shocks, so i wont worry too much bout gettin the right weights right now. As you said i can experiment as i go along [
]thanks!
-
I read this "In general, shock oils between 20 and 40 weight will be best for off-road vehicles and 40 to 80 weight for on-road vehicles."
40-80 weight [8)] shoudl it be the same in all four shocks, or heavier/lighter for front/back.
Please help

Yes you can use 'any' motor as long as your speed controller can handle it. Decide what turn size motor you want (27 = stock, can go down to around to 12 turns but i dont know much about the different motors) and then make sure you get a speed controller that is suitable.

hey loopus, i have a p2k2 motor (team paradigm) and its pretty fast [8D] with bearings. Want to get some more hopups soon

Does anyone have any idea of oil weights i should use in my TT01? Want to upgrade my shocks, will probably buy the oil separatly but have no clue on the weights.
also, will these shocks fit the TT01? says they are 50mm and fit the TA-01/02/03, TL-01, FF01/02. ? but there are a couple of others listed http://www.rccarsandtrucks.co.uk/551_1.html
Cheers

Hi, if you're upgrading the motor i would suggest you upgrade the prop shaft aswell cos when using a higher grade motor, the shaft starts to deform at higher speeds. i've just upgraded my motor, and the plastic prop shaft hits against the chassis when running at top speed!! [8)][8)]

Hi there, I have the bearing set, bought them from timetunnelmodels (http://www.goldstarstockists.com The aluminium prop shaft hasnt been released in the UK yet as i tried to get it from there aswell [8)].
looking at the shop on the above address, these are the prices
ITEM 53068 ... RS-540 SPORT TUNED MOTOR - £21.50
ITEM 53497 ... TT-01 BALL BEARING SET (TT01 XB Pro Ball Bearing Set (Official) - £19.99
And the aluminium shaft is £6.50 but not here yet
So youre looking at just under £50
hope that helps,

I have a TT01 and am going to upgrade my friction shocks to the CVA Mini Shock Unit II as I hear the alumium ones are basically the same, just look better! Not sure whether to buy an extra spring set or not, will this improve my performance? I know there are the on road tuned spring set which has 3 different sets of springs. I will be using my car mainly for indoor racing although occasionally outside on a track. [8)]

hi the car in the pic isnt mine, its from a site that sells headlights, fog lights neons etc -
http://www.kiramek.com/english/products/varad/undercar.html
have a look on the drop down 'products' list
ModelsportUk.com sell them at reasonable price - look under the 'new' section
----------------------
I think if you install them then you dont paint over the headlights on the bodyshell, and cut a small hole out of the light decals so that u just attach the LEDs onto the inside of the bodyshell without having to cut the shell itself. This page shows you how to do it -

Hey those neons and headlights look sooooooo cool! the only thing which probably stopped me from getting them is that I'm going to use my tt01 to race and so wouldnt want the extra weight onboard. You talking bout these sort...

Hi I have race bearings and looking to order aluminium prop shaft, motor mount, and heat sink. The next thing I'll upgrade will probably be the shocks, but im not sure whether to get the cheaper CVAa or 'invest' in some aluminium low frictions...hmmmm

Hi, I have a TT01 and I'm gunna need to buy the metal motor mount hop up for the p2k2 stock motor i've just bought! so with a 12 turn, theres a small chance it could melt... [8)]
I would recommend upgrading the plastic motor mount and prop.shaft to the aluminium ones when upgrading your motor as the plastic shaft deforms at higher speeds, and hits the chassis. Also get the heatsink for the motor [

I've just bought a pack of 6 nimh cells along with dean connectors to replace the tamiya ones, and had the cells assembled into stick pack but i will need to atatch the deanes clips onto the wire coming from my ESC which currently has a tamiya plug and connectors. Do i 'pull' the wires out of the plug, or cut them, im not sure what i have to do. [8)]
-
oh yeha thanks. [
]i think ill buy a double pack of these, good value and a decent make.
Chris

are the rocket ones just the name of the packs or do they mean something like 'faster, but less run time' for example.
thanks, Chris [
