  1. So far it looks good to me. Do you keep the original nose cone or do you build a new body?
  2. Hi Theibault, thanks for your answer you saved me from a disaster.... Hi Erich, I only painted the windows and added the Decals. I need to paint the taillights, but no new pictures so far.
  3. Hi Alex, for small parts I use Carson Paint-Killer. Last week I used it on a Monster Beetle body, it took me 15 hrs. to get the paint of....but it worked very good.
  4. Hello everybody, a few months back, I bought a Monster Beetle (with Box, Manual and Monster Beetle Jr.) via the "Bay". The car was in perfect condition, no cracks and broken parts on the chassis and body. The seller told me it has been driven a couple of times. After receving the Beetle, I noticed a lot of dust - I took everything apart and cleaned it. Now it looks like this (like new): (I know, I need to correct the Dampers....) The only thing which I didn't like was the painjob (a really ugly red) : I was very lucky and got some original Decals still sealed. The last five days (2-3 hours every day), I was stripping of the paint (with toothpicks and brushes) and finally primed and painted the body, to this: Later I want to use Tamiya clear-coat, and now I have a question. What happens if I spray clear-coat over semi-gloss black (I want to paint the windows with Airbrush), will the semi-gloss black look more like "black"? Thanks in advance. Have a nice Day. Marcel
  5. That's true, those LED's are very bright and that buzz from the TLU01 unit is annoying. I hope Tamiya will release some warm-white LEDs.... I got one unit in my Bruiser and one in my Wrangler, both fitted with Tamiya double sided tape - no problems so far.
  6. That's funny.... Yesterday my left damper mount broke in two pieces, after building my Hornet in January it was in a detolf - never been driven....
  7. Are those alloy servo hop ups to be recommended?
  8. Two questions won't get out of my head. Why an 84... kit-number and what are the limited parts? In the past we got the Metallic Specials and also kits with a TLU, but that Mounty looks very ordinary to me....
  9. Hi everybody, for my next project in June, i decided to build a Wild One. Does the driver-body of the FAV fits into the Wild One? Thanks in advance. Cheers! Marcel
  10. Why the Hornet? A Special-Edition of the Fox would have been nicer.... I'm very dissapointed.
  11. Can't wait to get one... Have the Bruiser with two full body-sets, all painted and build. Just need the Mounty-Decals, great excuse for buying a new kit
  12. I will keep it short: Toyota Hilux 4x4 SRB Ford Ranger F150 XLT Monster Beetle Blackfoot Willy's Wheeler Mud Blaster (The Mud Bluster II wasn't a real re-re, but very ugly ) Nissan King Cab And some other cars, but time will tell....
  13. The German Midnight Pumpkin promo is just great "Monster-Familie + Bullenstark" They also changed the music... The U.S is more 70's and 80's style, while the german one has a more rockin' tune. Love the old 70's commercials, much better.
  14. Thank you for your answers. Already ordered the BEC-Switch (Tamiya 50252 - I use the same one on my Fox), I want to keep that old-school look. Besides, my King Blackfoot won't be a runner but a "shelf king"
  15. Hello everybody, I'm a little bit confused.... On the original manual sheet for the MSC, TAmiya wrote "Speed Controller Set BEC". Do I need a BEC-Receiver or can I use a normal one? I noticed that on the same sheet, there isn't any BEC-Receiver pictured and you don't need a Battery Eliminator but an ordinary Receiver switch. Thanks in advance. Best regards Marcel
  16. Today I finished my King Blackfoot kit, but can't drive it (no BEC-Switch and receiver).
  17. Hello everyone, I need to make a decision: Should I get the re-re HotShot Metallic Edition (189,--€) or the TamTech Fox-Mini (99,99 €). What are the pros and cons? What would you do / suggest? And no, I can't get both of them. Thanks in advance. Regerds Marcel
  18. All of your Avantes are awesome, good work guys! The unpainted ones are refreshingly different, it's nice to see all thoes parts. @z00ter: How do you paint your first shelfer, it looks great. I'm thinking of buying an Avante (2011), but 499,-- € is a lot of money. Besides, here in Germany aren't any good tracks for driving around. Marcel
  19. Hello everyone, now that the Novafox has finally been released, I thought about a restoration of my Fox (build by my father back in '86). First I bought the missing parts for the original MSC, my father used a ESC from Futaba -he told me he never had an MSC.... everything works perfect. But, I can't decide if I should switch the old chassis parts for the Novafox parts, or stick to the memories with a slightly scratched chassis and rims, mainly all plastic parts. Let me know how you restore your Vintage Tamiyas. Regards Marcel
  20. Hello everybody, I just assembled the slipper clutch for the re-re Bruiser and noticed that it sound louder (or my ears playing tricks on me). Also the slipper clutch sometimes get stuck, is that normal? I also bought the 4 piece wheels, are those wheels better? Thanks in advance Regards Marcel
