  1. That`s good news! May i kindly ask what 20turn motors you are running? Because the super stock motors are pretty powerful 23 turners... Some time ago i got an 18 turn motor from Absima called "thrust" the seller told me that thing will be plenty of fast in comparison to my 23 turn Cup machine (the Cupmachine was not remarkable faster than my standard silvercan). I putted the 18 turn motor in to my Blazing Star (smallest pinion) and had a look..... ....i was a little bit disappointed. So fudge it, i thought and putted in the 27 turn sport tuned motor in the car, because i knew with that motor i had better results in the past. And behold... ....the result was not half bad, it was somehow accaptable. So i sweared to myself, never ever buy a cheap motor - never again! I made a bad expierience with a 23 turn Cup machine (cheap) and a bad expierience with the Absima motor (cheap). The Money i wasted is worth a new Sport tuned Tamiya motor or even a used super stock one.
  2. That's right, especially like the paintsheme of pintopower!
  3. Looks like a lexan body.
  4. I will try the microfiber cleaning cloth. All the stains are removeable by water and dishwashing liquid, but the water leave waterstains if its not wiped dry emediatly. Maybe ill try that future floor wax if I find a place to order it. A clearcoat would be very nice because its a runner and I'm shure that the dust will make the chrome scratchy and dump.... If I do not find that wax I will leave it without a clearcoat and only dacal the body with the old Bernie or scorched decals that are left over. Thanks for the tipps so far!
  5. Hello, i have a chrome Clodbuster body at home. I want to clearcoat it. My Problem is that there are several stains on the Body, some are waterstains, some are Fingerprints and some look like "ruststains". Do anyone have suggestions how to clean a chromebody? When i clean it with warter the fingerprints won`t disappear. When i would clean it with alcohol, i do not know what will happen to the chrome.... Also i do not know how to clearcoat the Body. Can i use normal Tamiya clear paint? Does this attack the chrome? Any tipps and recomendations are welcome.
  6. If I could run 21 turn motors I could run 23 turn super stock motors also. But Tamiya says I should not operate hotter motors than the sport tuned with that ESC and I don't want to ignore that. And a Clodbuster is a very heavy model with big wheels so i'll not risk that. For me that topic is closed. I'll wait for my sport tuned motors and test the pitch of the sound in both directions. Thank you for all the input and help. I'm very thankful.
  7. Ok, I'll risk it and purchase a couple of sport tuned motors from amazon (I think there they are the cheapest) and test the pitch of the sound. If they are timed, I have some sparemotors for my other models. For what I understand, there aren't any 23turn sport tuned motors, they are all 27 turn. The question is only if they just have stronger magnets of if they are timed. I'll test it and post my results!
  8. But do you really have to focus one just one hobby? A hobby is a hobby and I think its nice to have unfinished projects. If you spend all your free time on just one project, the project will be finished someday... ...and then you need the next project! If I do not have anything at home to work on I would get crazy or would buy some expensive stuff. I understand that it is nice to finish a project and to be proud of what you have archieved, but I just like to have some untouched projects in the backpocket . I also think its nice to pause the hobby with another hobby. For me its skateboarding. If I work a long time on a model and start to get unconcentrated and my vision gets bad, I stop and get out for a little cruise on my vintage skateboard.
  9. Thank you for the very helpful comments! I'm glad to have you in the club! I have to mention that I the Scorcher was my first attempt for a light kit. I had the lights at home and in the process of painting I thought why not to try to install lights.... So the project did not had the best chances of beeing a strong build as: 1.) The parts were already painted, 2.) I had no idea of cement (thought about revell plastic glue, but don't had this at home), 3.) Only had superglue at home, 4.) It was my first attempt of installing a lightkit. But I learn a lot from you guys, in a few years maybe I'll be a modelist. Sadly I have no one in my social network who has interest in RC cars or modeling, also there is no propper hobbyshop in my town anymore. The "best" hobbyshop in town has very unfriendly personal, they don't want to answer "silly" questions and the last time I was there and asked for help with my king cab differential, they wanted payment for workinghouers.... That was to much for me. Maybe I'm respectless, but I don't understand why to take money for just take a look of a part of a customer.... If they would helped me I would have bring them some bottles of beer or something. But now I'm a member of TC and I feel very welcomed! You have to love the TC!
  10. I'm running the stock Tamiya dual motor ESC. Tamiya says that it could handle 2 sport tuned motors, but they do not mention in wich chassis. 2 timed motors in a TXT or a Juggernaut would not be a problem.
  11. I like the look of MSCs and double Servos. But i like to use ESCs in my runners only and since all my Models are actual runners all of them (exept my orig. Clod) have ESCs build in. In the past i made a few bad expieriences with MSCs, so i have learned to stay away from running them. But like i said, i love the Looks of them. PS: I have to mention taht in my youth it was already normal/adviced to upgrade to the insanly expensive ESCs (they did cost between € 100,- to 150,- each)
  12. Hello, yesterday i drove my Sand Scorcher with an installed lightset trough the gravel and on the pavement. Sadly one of the rear brakelights and one of the headlights fell off. Why fell they off? Because they aren`t screwd to the Body. For Installation of the light i had do modify the bodyparts, now the only way to Mount them on the Body is to glue them to the body, wich i did with "UHU superglue". I think the superglue is to porous and will breake under vibrations... What is your method? To use more glue? To use better Glue? To not to drive such models with glued bodyparts? To secure the bodyparts with tape while driving the model? What would be the best mehtod? What would be the best glue?
  13. That was the Information i had too, but there are a lot of people who use them motors in 2 motor chassis anyways. And i don`t speak of the TXT or Juggernaut, i think they use the Motors in the same directions. There are also people on YouTube who use the sport tuned motors in dual motor chassis. There are also members who opened the sport tuned motors in the past to see the turns and if they are advanced timed. It would be awsome if one of the people who done that could ensure that they aren`t timed or that they are timed.
  14. I'm sorry for digging up an old thread, but I'm very confused..... I understand that the sports tuned motor is a 27 turn motor. But is the motor advanced timed or not? It seems that there are a lot of people out there who use sports tuned motors in colds or daggers/twin detonators/similars without ans problems. Do they not realize that the back runs quicker than the front? Are they all wrong? Or could it be that the sports tuned motor just has better magnets and quality without Bering timed?
  15. I wish they would rerelease some parts... Like a King Cab diff, or long dampers, or the king cab body,.....
  16. The last part is the hasrdest part.... ....only one more Part to her CRP 1622!
  17. Oh.... Thanks, i didn`t see that in the description, but who wonders? It was the middle of the night, i woke up so i decided to to order some RC-parts..... Well now i know ordering parts when i`m only half awake is not the best idea. If anyone has a hint where to get the other parts i need please let me know, i would be very thankful.
  18. just ordered that shocktower support for my old MB and BF, I hope I'll be able to mount it. I have no idea if you need another part to mount it. Do anyone know?
  19. So Jeff, I have 2 questions: 1.) Do you use plastic E-maxx shocks? If yes, how do they perform? 2.) Do you use tamiya sport tuned motors? If yes, aren't they timed? Do they run at the same speed?
  20. I also love the Tamiya C.V.A. dampers. I would be happy about a new set for my old monster beetle, because I have the mk1 C.V.A.s and they do not work as good as the new ones. I have a pair of new black dt-02 C.V.A.s (they don't have the changeable plastic pistons) on my Blackfoot and they work like a charm!
  21. Do you have a movie based RC? I had seen pictures of Mad Max builds and several A-Team and Misterymachine Lunchboxes, but never a Ecto-1 or a Delorean. Also i never had seen a A-Team Scorcher or a Herbie Lunchbox.... When you have pictures i would be proud to see them.
  22. Nice ride, since i have my re-re Montero i wanted it to make it a "Jurassic Park Pajero" with the Brat wheels, but i will see where it goes.... Back to Daggertalk: I think i will keep it 4WD just for the beginning. To Counter the Problem with the steering links, i think i?ll take a threded rod cut it into lengh abd bend it into shape, so the gearbox won`t get in the way of the steering link...... Edit: Now is saw that build i don`t know where My future project will go: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=68472&id=7734 Thats very very nice, so i think, maybe i shouldn`t have buy the shocktowers, but maybe a similar project with the aluminum shocktower are even a better ride. Maybe i should put it all into a box and hide it and wen i discover it in the future i`ll start istantly building something like a "nice build".
  23. my choice for today -> The Back to the future I Theme sounds nicer but to day it must be Bttf II !
  24. in the 80s, the hoverboard was made by Mattel. Is Mattel & Hasbro the same Company now? Sadly i know the Video of the Lexus hoverboard already & it`s cool, but you don`t have any "sidecontrol" so it goes in all directions.... So if you stand on it you can`t controll it prpper. A skateboard runs like on rails, so ist very controllable, hoverboard shoud be simmilar, it should be some kind of "sidestable". I´ll be dreaming and waiting.
  25. I've been waiting for my hoverboard since I first saw it in the movie. Do you have it in the USA, Japan or other TC countries? In Europe we still use skateboards....
