Who thinks Tom Petty is underrated? I never heard of that . Here in Austria, Tom Petty is one of the beloved musicians of all time . Here Tom Petty has the status of beiing "the king of cool" like Neil Young is "the godfather of grunge", everybody knows him, everybody loves him.

Today I purchased a tamiya king cab mini 4 WD, I'll put the shell on my losi micro highlift and see if its driveable, if not I'll try to put it on a micro-t....

Today I was thinking about modding my losi micro raminator into a micro lunchbox(mini 4wd), but I don't know if its morally OK to put a famous shell on a lisi chassis.... ....hm I also have a micro highlift with monster tyres, what shell could that thing use?? Btw: Nice looking Brat!

Thank you very much, I'll do that. Edit/info: My wp860 ESC arrived Last week and a fan is packed into the box.

Hm..... ......I just realized that the clodbuster has that eco switch. So does anyone know if its better to use a dual ESC with the silvercans of to use a normal ESC and that odd ecoswitch? Does the ecoswitch have any usefull properties if I use modern 3000 mAh NiCd batteries?

I hope there will be yellow cva replacement shocks, because the shocks on my original MB runner don't work at all, that are the ones without the diaphragm. Instead of the diaphragm they have the odd plastic oilseal with the spring in them...

Let's Talk Lunchboxes
whahooo replied to TWINSET's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
I've a question: What wheels do you use on the wheelie bar? I'm talking about the plastic wheelie bar wheel that makes that annoying scratching noise when you hit full throttle. My hobbyshop doesn't have a matching (plane) wheel, because they are to thick and I don't want to mount 2 tiny wheels to the wheeliebar because I don't like the looks of it. -
What have I done today? Hmm... I've lost my chance of getting 4 clodbuster axles & 8 clod tires on rims for 60,- on a local "Craig's list". Now I'm a little bit down, but I hope that the new owner is very happy about that catch.
-
Ok, then i'll try the spot tuned or the torque tuned motors if the clod is too slow for my taste. What would you recommend? Ps: I don't think the wp860 has a fan. I ordered it via ebay and on the picture there wasn't a fan.

I'm getting a quicrun wo 860 ESC for my Clodbuster. If I understand right, this ESC is limited to 2 motors with 24 turns. The superstock tz & bz motors (wich I have laying around) are 23 turn motors, so I can't use them in my clod? Am I right? So the best Hop up motors for my Clod will be the torque tuned or the sport tuned. But I don't know if one of them is timed, so I don't know if I'm able to throw them in if I want more speed/torque. Has the torque tuned more torque than the sports tuned?? For info: Because of the MSC, I never drove my (used, stock & vintage) Clodbuster, I wanted to wait for my ESC and the ball bearings to arrive for my first testdrive. So I don't know if I'm happy with the silvercans or if I have to hop up... Info 2: I'll get a cpe Aluminum Chassis Brace & Anti-Rotation Bracket Set for more sturdyness but for "stock" looks. Is this enough or are there more weakpoints to the truck that must be updated for a runner??

light instaalation -> shine trough problem
whahooo replied to whahooo's topic in All things electric...
Thanks a lot, that worked perfect! I painted it black. -
Hello fellow members, today i installed a lightkit (white headlights & red taillights) into my SRB. My problem is that the light shines trough all the plastic parts. I thought that the light will shine through the lenses, but no, the whole nosecone of my sand scorched is lighted & the whole plasticpart of the taillights shines red...... Do anyone has some advices what to do? My first thought was to "isolate" the plasticparts with aluminumtape, but I already glued the taillights to the body....

Today i rebuild the dampers, i cut the pistons a little bit smaller and installed softer springs. Now they are a lot smoother and work better. Also i took a look into the manual and was wondering about my oilseals... In the manual I found on tamiyaclub they show rubber oilseals, my dampers instead use plastic zylinders with a rubber o ring as a seal pushed down with a little spring.... ....why the difference? Did the preowner maybe change the dampers? I also did the little mod with the rubbertubings on the "stabilazer part", I mean that funny little rod that should take the slop out of the fron suspension...... ....but that made the suspension stiffer, so I will mod it back to the original condition as mentioned in the manual.

Today i "broke" my middle finger, getting in a spinning loose driveshaft/universal in my Sand Scorcher. My finger is not broken but badly hurt, a lot of skin of the front part of the finger is missing and there was a lot of blood... The worst part is that I feel so dumb and angry with myself for not turning the car off before I lifted it up to check why the left wheel wasn't spinning.... Btw, the Sorcher is OK, the grub screw of the driveshaft was loose and the joint was spinning freely.

Ok, i´ve painted the body in Tamiya racing white and it turned out very nice. But im to afraid to pait the french blue parts, so i decided to use the panels. OR, because i have already a "not perfectly painted" boxart sandscorcher: I try to make a Herbie out of the shell, but i dont know where to get good decals.... What should i do? Any Tipps?

Hello, the suspension of my "Monster Beetle" ist horribly stiff. Is it a good idea to cut the Pstons a little bit smaller or put some more holes into the pistons to get more oilflow? What springs should i use? the original sprins seem to be very hard... On my Blackfoot i use DT-02 rear oildampers and the work excellent. I use some springs out of my spareparts box, because the DT-02 springs are a little bit soft and the original Blackfoot springs are to hard for my taste.

That lowrider looks rad! Very nice! But the paintjob itself isn`t really what i want. I don`t know if its the bright white (ill be using Tamiya racing white), the unpainted/stickered fenders or the missing Windowrubbers... So i brought Tamiya racing white and french blue paint and try to get the paintjob thogether. First i will try only to paint it white an try the stickers, if the missing fenderstickers bother me, i´ll try to paint the sheme with the french blue paint.

Ok, thanks! I never thought about the "wanted" advert on a craigslist style site...

I've already painted a scorcher shell and it didn't went very well (pictures in my showroom). I always use tamiya masking tapes and they work perfect. But i'm not very talented.... I don't get around corners, i'm not able to cut the tape where the cuts belong, I rip the tape, I get bleeds, .... I only get the straight lines the way they should look.

Hello everyone, i need to know where to buy 27MHz receivers. All my transmitters except one (2,4 GHz HPI transmitter) are 27 MHz transmitters and i want to keep it that way because i'm to stupid to bind other 2,4 receivers to my 2,4 GHz transmitter and that's frustrating.... The old tech works fine for me and 1 year ago I got 6 pcs of 27 MHz recieveres from LRP for 5,- each, but today i did't find any old receivers to buy for that money. Is it even possible to bind any 2,4 GHz receiver to any 2,4 GHz transmitter? (I would love a fail safe feature, but I got frustrated witch the new tech...)

Hello everyone, i have a brand new Sand Scorcher Body, but i`m a little bit afraid of painting it. I want a Sand Scorcher paintjob in "boxart" for my shelf, so i´ve ordered the blue Vinyl Sidepanels that are available on ebay. My Questions: Is it OK to Clearcoat over these Vinylpanels? (i know you should not clearcoat over decals becaus they shrink and expand with the heat/sunlight) Should i really use these Vinylpanels, or should i try to Paint it with the french blue Spraypaint? (i´m not very talented in painting, and i don`t want to get frustrated) Are there any Pictures of a Sand Scorcher with this Vinyl sidepanels? (i only know the IconicRC Sand Sorcher in Green/Sandcoulor that uses this Vinyl Sidepanels, but i´m searching for a Blue/White one) thanks, Whahoo

Hello, i didn`t want to start a new topic. I have a simple Question: I have a "Blazing Star" and a "Dirt Thrasher", both fully ballraced, equiped with Tamiya Teu-105BK and Teu101-BK ESC`s and aluminium motormounts. Will they handle a "Tamiya Super Stock BZ" Motor? Do i have to buy a steel Pinion (the smallest ist 16t or 17t)?

It saved me from heroine abuse, it makes more sence to put my hard earned money in to RC-kits than into drugs. The time i´ve quited heroine i started to buy Rc-kits and vintage RC´s, i had so much fun and so little money, it dindn`t make sence to get into old manners. And now i`m a happy healty person. So i would say, it pretty much changed my life a lot.
