  1. Hello,

if someone throws away the yellow plasticshocks and swapping them out for "good" shocks, i would love to take the plastic CVAs

I want to use them in my DT-02 Astute tribute.

Idon`t know what they are worth, but i don`t want to spend a lot on them, so i would aprechiate to get them from one that has no use for it.

  2. Do we have a Topic with a guide to brushed Motors?

I would like to get a bit information when to change the brushes, gow long they will hold up, where you can get brushes, information about what brushes will fit my motors (e.g. the dynatech motor of my Top Force) AND if there are soft brushes that will help the Communicator to stay fit and if they would give more more power.

  3. I always run miy diffs completly free.

The only cars that use a stiffer Diff are using Ball Diffs.

At some point i have to stiffen all of my diffs and change the aluminium Pinoins for some Steel ones. But i dont use my Cars very often, so i never botherd with the research what car needs what Pinion size.....

Also i use motors that arent as powerful as the brushless ones that a lot of people like to use.

  4. Is Anyone interrested in a list for Tamiya Fun models (no racers)?

I would love to see what Oil you are using.

For me i have a Oilrecommondation:

    Tamiya Lunchbox:

CVAs with Fixed Metal pistons without Holes

    Front: Orange 300 Oil

    Rear: Red 200 Oil

    Tamiya Coldbuster:

8 Thin 110mm dualrate chinese schocks

Red 200 Oil all around with both soft Springs on each shock

    spacer.png

    Tamiya Sand Scorcher:

    Standard Kit shocks all around

Standard yellow 300 oil all around

    Tamiya King Cab:

    Standard Kit shocks all around

Standard yellow 300 oil all around

For my Rally cars i use standard CVAs with 3 Holes, but i dont know if i should use other oil....

If i let them fall from 15cm they bounce up and down 1 or 2 times, but they should have soft shocks for Bumps and stuff. On the other hand, they are so soft that they roll a lot on tarmac when cornering... when i corner and accalerate without braking after the Turn, they are "locked in" and still hold a "not so slight" curve. So they aren't driving straight after a turn unles i brake afterwards.....

  5. Here is the Post:

There are 2 little red Points marked in the Manual. There you have to screw in 2 Grubscrews.

I did it and now the Sway Bar Works.

I have to see if you have the same Option with a DT02.

I also purchased the Hard Shockoil Set from Tamiya and will put the thinnes of the Hard Oils in the Back of the DT02 and DT03.

Do you think a rear stabiliser bar will help reduce grip roll? I have the parts for this so will give it a try. Maybe front too?

    I don`t know....

On the DT-03 the People say "don`t bother with Stabilizers" and "they are Sluggush" but most of the People don`t install them right :D
The Manual don`t show the little Mudscrew that holds the rear Stabilizer so it floats freely around.

On the DT-02 i can say that it definetly improves the "roll". I have a DT-02 "Scorcher" with a strong speedy Motor (super Stock BZ?) and on Tarmac you see how horrible it rolls when cornering. It`s because i installed the shocks a long as possible, so the Car sits very high and has al lot of Sag (soft setting)....
In that Car i installed Stabilizers in the Front and the rear, i think i installed the soft red ones and they definetly help with the roll. Ididn`t installed the blue ones becaus i thought they will reduce the "Offroadines".

I had started off looking for more ground clearance than this but my car was so inclined to grip roll

I akso was thinking about putting longer Rodends on the Ends of my cheap Alu Shocks. Sadly i don't know what Threadsize they should have, because i don't have the right tool to measure it by hand. M2 m2.5 m3 ?

This would help the bottoming out, but it would push the rolling.....

But maybe the Stabilizer i had installed in the Back will help, i could put the blue ine in....

  8. @alvinlwh

    Thanks for the Link.
What Oil would you recommend for the DT-02? Is there any "general Oil weight suggetion thread"?
I know that you can`t tell what oil will fit that chassis on that surface/Track... It depends on your Shocks, your Springs, your Pistons, your Track, your Batterytype, etc...

BUT a lot of people use the standard CVAs with 3 hole Pistons, so you can roughly say what is a general good setup for Tamiya Models or fun on Offroad or Onroad use.

  9. Since the soft oildset of tamiya is on sale on Amazon, i got the 3 soft Bottles (red orange yellow).

What oil would you recommend for a DT-03 and a DT-02?

Both of them are bottoming out if i let them fall from about 20 cm.
The DT-03 hat the Kits CVAs and the DT-02 has some generic china Aluminium Dampers (but suprisingly they seem to work).
Both cars seem to be quite sticky and slow. So if i lift a wheel manually (especially in the rear end) the whole chassis lifts.....    but if i let it fall from more than 10 cm it bottoms out because of the force of the impact....

  10. A List would be amazing.

Someone in another Forum asked me for Radio Gear.

I said it depends if he would want a "digital" Radio with an Modelmemorylist or if he would want a Radiogear with "analog" potentiometers for his fine tuning.

I personally love the Potentiometers and dont really like that "digital" finetuning....

    I recomended that:

65,- FlySky GT3C - good, cheap, nothing bad heared about it yet

50,- Absima GT3B - good, cheap, uses Flysky receivers, ergonimical not perfect

30,- Dumbo RC 6 chanel receiver with Gyro - super Cheap - you get wat you pay for. BUT i like the Potentiometers, the cheap receivers that can use up to 4 channels or something and they have an installed gyro if you like that

  11. What Car do you have? (the TL-01 has Street Models, Rally Models, Stadium Models and Buggy Models)
What ESC do you use? (if you`re running an mechanical speed controller, get the Quickrun ESC)

If you were running a normal silver Motor from the Kit, the sport tuned Motor will give you a nice performance boost.

If you want "more" you always can get faster Motors. In General: the lower the Turns the faster is the Motor. E.g. a 21T Motor should be faster than a 23T Motor if the Motor has enough Tourque.

But the Sport Tuned Motor is a good allround Motor with good Specs.
