  1. Looking through all of your posts... wow just wow. I second the suggestion for a Ferrari P4. I like that genre of car.... big fan of the Alfa 33 Stradale. Did you sell out your run of the 512S and 917k?
  2. This thread made my day. There are a few cars I hope to make like this one day! Starting with a Stratos wheel design first though. Every car on your shelf Tell me do you find the Killerbody Lancia Montecarlo to be disproportionate in the front area? I've hesitated buying one due to this. (I love the Lancia Monte based cars, owned/drove a 1:1 Scorpion for several years).
  3. I'd like to see that! I'm thinking an FF03 with IFS. Idk about the rear shock tower fitting... but where there's a will...
  4. What happened to this build? I would like to see more pics!
  5. By the by... if you want to do undercuts, it's not as hard as it sounds. I nearly broke my first 911 GT1 shell after casting it (because of the front and rear undercuts). Now i've found this other method for doing undercuts: And video of the actual vaccuforming:
  6. This is an awesome thread! I too hope to do a scratchbuilt body one day. In the interim... did you succeed in any of this? I have a few bodies to copy, I also have my eyes on buying a body.... casting it... and correcting some of its details (on an otherwise cool looking body).
  7. Paid for this! Finally I have both GT1 Porsches and a GT2. I have grand plans for all three. Didn't like how my Lancia shell fit the TA05 (SWB mod)..... So I'm going this route with the GT1: obviously not going to use the 037 wheels And I still regularly drive my HPI Lamborghini Countach shell which rides on my TT02 brushless in SWB config with rims nicked from my TA02SW Porsche. Here's a pic: It was raining a bit that day, but parking garages help for that especially when empty. The car is water resistant anyway.
  8. I can't wait to build my GT1 ! I have a new shell, with how scarce these are becoming and that i'm going to make a runner shell (duplicate). I've decided it's going on my shortened to 239mm wheelbase TA05. Lightweight, mid-engine... just like the real car. Also I have plans of doing my favorite non-stock livery for this car. Going to do the same thing for a recently acquired GT1-98 body, but it's going on a modded 3Racing FGX (I can't abide solid-axle cars). Probably stick with standard livery. Speaking of Porsches... I also bought the GT2 re-re which I have a fun chassis idea for (the TA02SW is going to my Lancia 037). I am going to try doing the 911 GT3 light buckets like others have on the GT2 on my GT1s. Does anyone know if you can buy the GT3 headlamp/headlight fixtures separate?
  9. I think it's funny that there were so many spoiled kids back then... Then financial meltdown. Here I'm lucky to have any racing at all. There was about a year with absolutely no racing within 150 miles. It's exciting to see it back & brushless. Also I am not a fan of using pvc piping as track marking for onroad. Very destructive if you bump. Sand traps or a runoff...something.
  10. I'm going to copy mine... it's nuts that it's so limited. If you don't get one let me know. I am considering making a lexan version too.
  11. Right now I'm finishing up my Associated SC10 to buggy conversion (with a buggy body and paint/custom decals to match my childhood toy, a Nikko Turbo Aero). Then the big fun project: start copying the OOP bodies I've collected over the last few years. Porsche 911 GT1, Mercedes CLK GTR, and maybe just maybe the Lancia 037 Rally (different process in mind). Also I have a Parma Jaguar XJR-15 and HPI Lamborghini Countach to copy. After the Lancia is done, I'll finally build the TA02SW kit for it. Speaking of which has anyone successfully done that? I laid the 037 on my shortened TA05 and it's way too wide in front.
  12. I'd like to see it be a 959 straßenversion or a 961.
  13. What he said, TT02s can be 257 or 251 mm wheelbase. I've ran my TT02 in both configurations. They will both be 185mm wide. If you want something shorter, but 185mm is okay a TA02 with reversed arms will give you 230mm (or with TA01 rear arms will give you 237-239mm). If it's narrower, you need an M-Chassis of some sort. 4WD m-chassis include: Hobby King M.Rage (210mm wb, or 220 if you flip rear arms), MF01x (210,225,239 configs) are currently produced and 4wd. OOP 4wd m-chassis include HPI Cup Racer, Active Hobby 210SS (rebranded as Ofna JL12e), or Nanda NRX-12 (which became the M.Rage). And if you want an overly heavy Touring Car.. you can buy a TA03 and buy an appropriate tub and belt to shorten it (comes as mid-rear-engine or front engine). I sold mine once I found out you can convert a TA05 to 239mm wheelbase with proper arms and spacers.
  14. if you're open to alternatives, HobbyKing now has a dimensionally correct chassis (wb 210/165 wide) made from carbon fiber at an unbeatable price. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__65078__BSR_Racing_M_RAGE_1_10_4WD_M_Chassis_Un_Assembled_Kit_.html
  15. Thank you for measuring. From my crude mockup- this should fit just fine.
  16. I think this shell and a MF-01x are in my future. Anyone who owns an MF care to comment on motor overhang compared to the M06? How hard would it really be to modify one to be front-engine (i.e. run the chassis backward)? edit: looks like the engine wouldn't clear the miata's low noseline:
  17. Fun read about the GT2: Why the Porsche 993 GT2 Might be the Next Ferrari 250 GTO
  18. Haha I know what you mean... I have a 911 GT3, GT2 and GT1 but not a normal 911 shell. I dig the GT cars with the extended fenders and fat tires. The reason this is special is because it hasn't been available for so long and from a scale-enthusiast's POV- this cars dimensions are dead on with the short wheelbase and wide wheels. As a fan of industrial design, seeing a car 'melted' to fit a standard touring car rubs me the wrong way..... I've been holding off buying the Killerbody Lancia Beta because of this... they messed with too many proportions (see the book i'm writing about it). KB did pretty good with the Stratos Turbo & the Delta, to be fair.
  19. Well now this is interesting..... http://NO REPRO.ca/products/110th-porsche-911-star-card-body-decals
  20. Interesting, I made it clear in my second email that I have the graphics done for sure. I'm definitely a graphic designer, been doing it for almost 10 years!
  21. has anyone reached Jeremy recently? I've sent requests to ScreenPrintDigital's email listed on their site with no response. Ideas anyone?
  22. Digital download of decals is available. Slightly better looking than original.
  23. LOL no one said it would be easy! Oooh I know-- get the 34mm wide HPI Porsche wheel/tire combo that has 14mm offset. 168+14+14=196mm.
  24. These are incredible! I was planning to do a similar thing. Did you know that Killerbody released a Lancia Beta Montecarlo (Group 5 silhouette) & Lancia LC2? I'm really considering buying a Delta S4 body.
  25. Even weirder that Tamiya even made an IFS verson of the FF03... but it'd need IRS too... because of the rear bodywork going so low. Now I'm interested just to see if it could be done. Maybe invert the rear shock tower? Or buy a 3Racing FF and see about putting FGX IRS parts on it.
