  1. Got the M06 nice and dirty today. Loving the powerslides this thing can do. Gets seriously dirty underneath due to the wide tires.
  2. Agreed. Taller sidewall tires would look period correct. And yes, the HPI kit really needs the Campagnolo wheels, the coffin-spoke shape is distinctive.
  3. Thanks @VagabondStarJXF for the work on the wheel design, the revisions, and generally believing in my idea. The rims will be painted silver when finished. They are so beautiful in any color really.
  4. What they should do is make it belt driven FWD so it can easily be optioned to an AWD/RWD vehicle, kinda like they did with the FF03/04 being the basis for the XV01. The way the gearbox is buried in the M05 is so limiting.
  5. I like where this is going :-D GT1 cars are sweet. I've collected many GT1 bodyshells at this point- 911 GT1, 911 GT1 98 LM Winner, Kyosho McLaren F1 GTR longtail, Parma Panoz Esperante GTR1, CLK GTR, and a few others.
  6. I have had a pet project of mounting the F40 to a TA06. Looks like IFS isn't necessary.
  7. Raw from Shapeways. Had them printed in yellow a la 1:1 Stratos.
  8. Before After Tamiya Tires :-D Thanks to @VagabondStarJXF for the incredible work on this new wheel design.
  9. I wish this was s a front-motor, rear wheel drive vehicle. That would be so awesome. It would also make sense because the MX-5, Alfa, S15, and a few no-longer-produced bodies for m-chassis are all 225 or 239mm and a front-engine RWD car in 1:1.
  10. It will be a runner, of course. The TA05 is just so beautifully simple compared to the 06. I still want an 06, I want to see if I can make it inboard rear suspension in addition to the front IFS. Oh and get rid of the FWD portion.
  11. That is a very good question.
  12. I like the purity of the MST FXX-D, front-engine RWD. When I buy a drift chassis, it will be this. It comes with a gyro stock btw, you can see the mounting point just above the end of the driveshaft. Comes with IFS or not, difference in cost is usually just 10usd. Price is super competitive if you don't by the blingmobile edition.
  13. Haha... but put it up against a mid-eighties Lancia... I think the 0-60 in under 3 seconds on gravel, turbo+supercharged Delta S4 might have upper hand...
  14. Yeah! I like me some 959... just not enough to build one. Lancia 037 comes first.
  15. Got my first set of universals. After losing another set of XV01 axles, I've decided the front requires them. The rear I have a spare set and I've spray painted the others red to make them easier to find. Also really kinda trying to finish the FGX rebuild.
  16. If they do a non-solid axle car, I'm so in. Love my FGXs.
  17. Decals are now completed. 13 turn run tomorrow. [pic blocked from phtobucket] The whole beast. Look at those tires... after just one week of playing.
  18. Finished up my 911 GT2 decals and neatened up the wiring. Also the ESC fan is just beneath the rear grille. Here's a photo of three Tamiya 911s all on chassis they never came on: 911 GT2: M06L 911 GT1: TA05 239mm 911 GT1-98: TA05 IFS
  19. Um you are too modest! I've spent hours trying to draw something that nice.
  20. Thank you for the insight everyone! I am very excited to post my progress in this build
  21. Finally cleaned some of the runner body shells.
  22. Regarding the body post- not sure, will check. It's an M04L mounting a Lancia 037 body. Regarding the wheels- a reasonable compromise. I think that if the roots of the spokes are moved outward it would work well.
  23. I just now saw your post. I will PM you.
  24. I adore low profile bodies on touring cars. It's actually made me purchase some just for the aesthetic. In the works is taking the the Porsche GT1 '98 LM winner normally found on an F103 and adapting a TA05 IFS to fit. The only considerations are finding appropriate body mounting, correct offset wheels and find a way to lower the mounting point for the rear dampers.
