Kyosho released a couple of 1/10 McLaren F1's in different liveries back in the 90's. They looked really great, comparable to Tamiya. Correct proportions and great detail.
They did a 190mm and a super-size 1/10th, both longtail variants. I have an uncut supersize, but really want a 190mm gulf body. I'd also like to add that HPI did a short tail F1 road version that was excellent, then they made a blob version later that looks terribly disproportionate. The HPI Pantera is now scarce I recently found out, so now I need to buy another copy! I had one on my first hobby-grade RC drifter and currently have one on my VTA competition car.

And those ballooning tyres with their increased circumference probably gained you a lil more top end speed, maybe the foams will be slower as they keep their shape but thy will certainly track better for you........ depends how much juice is still left to squeeze out the motor.
I think that was Speedy w/beans. I didn't want speed run my M06 build because requires crazy offset wheels for the body (Taisan 911 GT2). As soon as I built the only tire/wheel combination that works proper became scarce.
I'm curious to see how the TA05 911 GT1 will do with foams. In the video I posted is the ballooning tire hitting the body, the noise you hear at the end of the run. Upon review just now, I could have kept it straighter and I did run out of room. Didn't care at the time because it was so blazing fast.

As a mid-engine zealot, I can attest the XV is an incredible rally/tarmac machine. I bought it because its layout mirrors the 1:1 Lancia Integrale (front engine, AWD... heck even the motor is transverse). I also switched from the TT02 as my basher/beater to the XV as it is possible to adjust suspension unlike the TT. I also love the protected internals, if you have snapped a belt due to a rock... you know what I mean.

I love that this thread is still going and I love that I'm still on the top 10 somehow!
Oh, and I finally started looking at the tuning software for my SpeedPassion ESCs
and found suitable foam tires. The tire ballooning on my TA05 was nasty over 50 mph.

IIRC ABC Hobby made a rear-motor chassis, so I'm not terribly surprised it fits. Me, I'm a stickler for motor position compared to the real car. I have two different MX-5/Miata shells that I've refused to build until I can find a front motor, rear wheel drive solution !

I like that this involves Tamiya, but why not build this on a BSR M.Rage or XPresso M1? That'd be 210mm wheelbase and mid-motor! In fact, if you can find an M04, you could have it all. You may find that the M06's motor interferes with the short overhang of the MR2 body... or not... it'll be close.
And not to deter you, but an M06 is a beautiful thing with a rear engine bodyshell:

Here's an update for those interested:
I've just removed the image links broken by Photobucket's current policy, as I find time I'll reupload to imgur.
I'm pleased to report after hours of consideration I've found proper axle-extending spacers and new wheels! I was fortunate enough to grab one of the 53231 treaded wide tires for the rear! This time I'm going with the 5-point wheels, inspired by photos like this one:

You definitely should! I took my TA02SW kit's shell and put in on an M06. Rear-motor RWD. It did require extra offset/wide tires (or spacers).

It's amazing... and interesting Pininfarina ended up doing the interior.
And yes the 1996 GT1 car had the 993 headlights and better looking styling on the sides... I don't like the 1997 Evo update with the scalloped doors. I hope the restyle was done for pure aerodynamic purpose.
Resin kits are crazy expensive. For the price of half of one I bought a Maitso 911 GT1-98* and a CLK-LM** !
*gosh, i should put some black paint in those light buckets... looks like a fogged up headlamp as stock.
**That's not a typo the 1998 Mercedes GT1 is the V-8 "CLK-LM" not the V-12 "CLK GTR" like previous years.

Funny that you mention Chris Bangle too! I absolutely despise virtually everything he did at BMW, the Z3 and the Mini ACV 30 concept car being the only exceptions. As for designs he did outside BMW, I like the Fiat Coupe and the Opel Junior concept car very much. Happy he's gone from BMW though!
Personally, I don't really care for 911s enough to want one. Except the mid-engine ones - 993 GT1, GT1 98, and the new RSR. The whole rear engine thing is quaint. I thought if I found a nice Boxster S with the 'fried egg' headlamps, I'd cite its heritage... the 1998 LeMans winner... which by the way looks brilliant with the same headlamps.
I'm surprised to hear that Chris Bangle designed the Fiat Coupe... it's so pretty! Easily one of the best looking FWD cars made.

Protip: Don't leave the cars in there, the rear hatch area gets warm from the exhaust... bad for LiPos.I'm considering putting a temporary body on my M06 for now while I figure out a good solution for offset wheels or perhaps decide on an axle extension. Essentially every corner needs to be about 10mm wider, I'm hesitant to use longer arms because that means longer axles, longer steering, possible steering geometry problems.

For me it's usually just something that's ridiculously cool and sought after in 1:1. My other passion is collecting all of the OOP shells that I can. Most everything I buy is mid-engine in 1:1, but I've bought a few that aren't with plans to acquire or make the proper config in RC.
My current want is a front-motor RWD m-chassis to commemorate my recently passed daily driver, a Mazda MX-5 NB (1999-2005 generation). I genuinely wish there was such a chassis as it could fit the various iterations of the MX-5, many of the M04/6 cars (S2000, Alfa, SLK, etc) that are strictly front-engine RWD in 1:1.

Sell it to me first! Especially if uncut.
It's so rare I'd make copies to play with. Plus I love the fact it's a front-engine 4wd short wheelbase chassis, truly special.

I haven't built anything all year and the past half of 2017, my build time all been going to flight training/wife/new job/etc. If there was a dedicated on-road rc track in the area, I'd definitely roll out a few of the racecars.

Yes, I drive it about once every two weeks. It's a lot of fun to drive, great balance between drifting and grip. I used to drive it twice a week but now the HPI tires/wheels are on terminal backorder, so I have been conserving the tires as it will need new ones soon. I'm planning on running the widely available Vaterra 26/30mm wide staggered setup soon after I find some axle extenders.
As far as the Lancia 037 body on an M06, I wouldn't recommend it. The 037 has a very short rear overhang as in 1:1, it is a mid-engine car. Likely the M06's motor will not fit....plus you know why I made the 911 on an M06 if you read the first post.
Find an M04 and build it in L config with the Lancia 037 body, which @VagabondStarJXF has done too. He even designed 3D printed body posts and proper m-chassis wheels, which you can buy from his Shapeways store. Read about it in his thread. Or my thread, mine is taking longer as I am not active on the project.

I was thinking if a street version body was available that'd be a really sweet build. I considered that maybe a slight alteration to a 959 rally body could be done, but saw some pics recently of how very different it is to the road car, e.g. intakes in a different spot, front trunklid obviously, rear vents are different, rear spoiler looks higher, etc.
