Thanks for the replies guys. Wakefield is now flanked by three RC venues: RC Model shop direct at Normanton which is focused on drifting and has a small crawler course, NRD (Northern Race and Drift) which started as a drift venue and now has a crawler course and race track. The race side of it is run by Demon Models in Wakefield. these guys used to run the Lupset event. (They are running 1/12th and 1/10th road racing there at the minute). MB Models formerly of Leeds is now on the outskirts of Wakefield with an indoor venue. The GT12 guys from Selby moved there over the summer and now Batley Buggy club are holding there Winter series there.
So it appears Wakefield is now the go to RC car city. That being said the only place open as a pay and play all week is RC Model shop direct (which is drifting). NRD has select opening times for drifting and the racing is just that - racing which is the same as MB Models and neither offer pay and play on the track so if you fancy some set up / tunning time you have the warm up time before a race meet and thats it.
I think the only way to proceed then is going to be to either move out of the area slightly (Probably towards Leeds) or provide something very different.
