  1. Any of you waiting, don’t pay into scalpers or these ridiculous rates. I just paid 360 CAD tax in for my kit at my LHS.
  2. One of Shodog’s last posts :( … RIP dear friend, you will be missed by us all.
  3. These kits have made their way to Canada! Thinking of grabbing the HKS, that was a wicked cool body back in the TA02 days. Too bad they didn’t re-release on a TA02 but the TT01E instead.
  4. Finally got the parts to finish my TL01 Ferrari F12tdf.. will need to go for a test drive some night this week. A friend of mine made me some custom 32mm wide rims to put on the rear to get the scale look.
  5. Got this slightly used TA04 SSG Carbon lower deck in the mail today and pieced it together with the hard to find J Parts I sourced from my LHS. Too bad Tamiya doesn't do this SSG carbon anymore, I think it looks great!
  6. Hello! I was just looking at some of your posts regarding your WW1 M38 and I would like to obtain the adapter ring for modern 540 motors. Is this available on shapeways for purchase?

Hi!  It is and can be found here: https://www.shapeways.com/product/K6T2L3T6R/original-willy-motor-washer-v1?optionId=62849230

I have it in use on my MadMax M38, and one other person wanted it for a build so I made it available.  It definitely works with the motor I have (and I got no feedback that it didn't work for the guy that bought it).  That said, I know there are many variations of motors out there, and I obviously haven't tested them all - but for my basic silver 540 it fit right in!  I hope this can help you.

  7. I had the D4 and tho it is really cheap I wasn't super happy about it. It was the RWD version mind you so you would absolutely need a gyro if you are getting that version. I think that it does require some $$$ to get it where you'd want to be. Quality of plastics were fine, some pieces better than others. TT02D is probably best bet for ease of use and fun factor without frustration.
  8. Finished up my Bigwig today (well, nothing is ever really "finished" I guess). I think this has to be one of my most favourite vintage buggies from Tamiya. I love the detail possibilities it allows for. I did paint the valve covers on the engine and I added some spark plug wires using old stereo wiring. Opted for some Hotshot rims instead of the Moon Craft dish wheels. I think it gives a nice touch. Enjoy!
  9. Best bet would be to measure eye to eye of the stock dampers. I haven't built my top force yet, otherwise I would measure them for you. If they are within a few millimetres within the specifications of the dampers in that link, then yes they will definitely work.
  10. Great alternate color choice! Decals work well with it too!
  11. Looks awesome so far, can't wait to see the final product. What rims are you using for this build, they look wicked and would like to grab a set for a project of mine.
  12. Yes sometimes Tamiya does this. I cannot recall if my Alfa came to me with pre cut wheel wheels. But I would assume they only do it to bodies that have delicate fenders, to prevent user error. Either way it's a nice treat to find out you have perfectly cut wheel wells!
  13. Finished up the Ferrari F12tdf body today. 80 decals!! But I gotta say, the detail on this Ferrari body is amazing, probably the best 10th scale Ferrari body out there. I also finished my driver cockpit for this body, always lots of fun to paint up the interior. Completes the body in my opinion. Now I'm just waiting on some tires and rear axles from rcMart to finish the chassis and I'll be able to run it better pictures are on the way!
  14. Thanks! It's a difficult color to photograph at times. Definitely will be shown
  15. Ferrari F12tdf body arrived today. What detail! Gonna be painted tomorrow (weather pending) and mounted on my TL01 with the driver cockpit.
  16. Thank you! To further entice you- the black has a base layer of "Lamé flake" aswell. Looks absolutely brilliant on the Bigwig (even more so in person) I finished the dampers today... they are smooth as fluorine. I'm waiting on some different rims though as I'm passing on the Moon Craft dish wheels. So for now, Bigwig must wait... But my next project will keep me busy until then!
  17. Got my Bigwig build nearly completed! Just need to add my receiver and build the dampers.
  18. Do those TT01 shafts work on the ta02 arms?
  19. They were already released in Canada, but if you mean an exact World Wide Release I haven't read any official news anywhere. eBay already has two f/s!
  20. I wonder if thats true that the TF's are being held hostage in warehouses until the official date lol..
  21. Was tinkering with my TT02, managed to find a way to have some adjustable camber in the rear and also was able to mount up a spare tire for the 240z rally body.
  22. Saw this too, I hope it gets a worldwide release and not only Japan. Would love to grab a replica of one of the most unique F1 cars ever made.
  23. Finished painting my F430 body with Tamiya's new bright gunmetal PS paint. Great color!
