  1. Box-art is great, custom is great too - can't go wrong with one of these. Here's my Fuzzbox :
  2. Ooh, I want these, but I can't contemplate shelling out that much for them. If I had an original Lancia Rally then yes, but I'm only building a replica from re-re bits.
  3. Flicking through the latest issue of Octane magazine last night (about full-size cars that I'll never be able to afford), there was an interesting article on this one-off contraption. It's 8WD (but can be 6 or 4 at the pull of a lever) and 8WS too. Sounds like a hilarious nightmare to drive, goes everywhere sideways whether you want it to or not. It's called the Centipede, it was built in the 70's from 3 Jeeps and a Corvette motor. I immediately thought of this place, get raiding your parts bins...

  4. Raised it with the Ebay seller yesterday, they sent me another one which arrived by courier less than 24 hours later. Can't argue with that customer service. Presumably my original order is still rattling round in a ParcelFarce depot somewhere.
  5. I can't, it's full of bits of half-painted bodyshell...
  6. I was hoping the postman might have brought me the paint I ordered on 10th April, that I planned to use to finish off my shell over the Easter holidays. Still not arrived. Serves me right for buying from Ebay instead of supporting my local model shop I suppose.
  7. Or you could just push it up to 5mph, run alongside and jump in while it's still moving, depress the clutch, select 2nd gear, dump the clutch, give it a bootful of throttle, shut the door and off you go. Like I have to with my old Mini more often than you'd think...
  8. Wheels spinning inside tyres is always the first thing to check on these. You've sussed it.
  9. Nice. I had mine for 7 years, loved it. Had a few niggles with the variable intake valve gubbins, replaced it with a ST220 unit in the end. 3-doors are faster btw...
  10. Took over my wife's crafting shed yesterday and set up a makeshift spray booth with newspaper and masking tape. Put 4 coats on the Pumpkin. Checked it this morning and found that a big box has fallen off a shelf overnight and landed ... yep, on the shell. Apart from a tiny chip I seem to have gotten away with it. But it needs a couple more coats and I've run out of paint.
  11. Got this ready for paint now I hope.
  12. I think I'd probably have bought more paint first...
  13. Every 20 mins or so whilst trying to earn a living, alternating between filling and sanding my butchered Pumpkin shell. I wanted it mint, but the more time I spend on it, the more tempted I am to go for the battered/rusty/patina look a la JennyMo...
  14. I've got nothing to trade, but might be interested if you decide to sell it.
  15. Just had 9 straight days off work, and all I managed to get done was fill, sand and prime my modified Pumpkin shell. Ah well, it'll be properly dried when I get paint on it next weekend.
  16. Ah. Tow. Now I get it.
  17. A servo tester, which is something I didn't even know existed a week ago.
  18. You've proved (I think I read somewhere else ?) that your lights work permanently if you plug them straight in. So they're getting a positive voltage and an earth. You need to tap into either one of those wires with your new switch (using the pair of bare wires). That lets the switch either make or break the light circuit. Then you plug the switch into CH.3 of the RX so you can control it.
  19. There's a wiring diagram right there in the bag !
  20. Cut first, scoring lines with a sharp blade. Try to snap along the line, even though it's gone off at an angle. Bottle it. Cut along the wonky line using curved scissors instead. Then cut the correct line you should have done in the first place. Keep the protective outer film in place the whole time, even though it's started to peel away from the bottom now. Swear. Repeat as above for the entire shell. Tidy up any dodgy corners with the scissors, but go slightly too far in a couple of places. Neaten that bit up, then do the same on the other side so it's symmetrical. Ish. Fit the sanding wheel to a cheap dremel-a-like and straighten out any dodgy bits, making it slightly worse than it was before. Rip off the remaining flapping protective film in disgust and swear again. Lots. Buy some paint and masking tape. Leave the cut-but-unpainted shell hanging up in the garage for 12 years whilst you build other new kits with lovely ABS bodies instead. Just me ?
  21. Konghead plus Unimog cab plus styrene sheet = bonkers explorer camper...
  22. Presumably she only has one pair of shoes, one handbag etc...
  23. No-one's admitted their age starts with a 5 yet then ? Mine does, but only just. Got back into this stuff 2 or 3 years ago. No kids so can't blame them.
  24. To me, that looks like the red train can only shuttle backwards and forwards across the path of the other one ?
