So, after 20+ years away from RC, I've spent the last few months poking around in here and finding myself getting sucked back in. I've got a couple of new builds lined up to start, but inspired by some of the stunning creations on here, I fancied a bit of gentle customising first. I picked up this WW2 late last year. Nicely done, but not quite to my tastes and so perfect for an idea I'd had (born out of the Winter Build-Off thread). Over Christmas it got pulled apart so I could start it. I was surprised at how many different components there were to the body. It was only going to be a simple repaint, so the chassis just got some minor tidying and a couple of missing/scuffed parts replaced. I wanted lights so I cut big holes in the grille, small ones in the tailgate and then sprayed everything in white primer. I wanted an urban-camo paintjob, but what colours to choose ? Well, you'd better meet the driver... Yes, a long-time love of Japanese kitsch meant this could only go one way. Plus I had a spare Hello Kitty head lying around, as you do. So I bought pink and black aerosols. Then my wife had the genius idea of using a Kitty-shaped design, which immediately became ... cat-ouflage (sorry). So I cut 40 Kitty heads out of masking sheet and got to work. I put far too much paint on, but never mind. The pink then got masked up with another 40 Kitty heads which unfortunately just turned the whole project into Mr.Blobby... Finally, too many coats of black went on. Would it work ? I've never done anything like this before so who knows. Better get peeling. The paint had bled in a few places and it was all too thick really but the overall effect was what I wanted. I tidied a few bits up with a brush and I'm happy with it for a first try. I've learned some stuff doing this, mainly that I don't have the eyesight, dexterity and patience that I had when I was 20. Time to rebuild the shell then. I bought a cheap generic 4-LED kit plus some Fastrax spotlights and made them fit. Again, not a brilliant job but they work quite well. I was going to cut the loom down to fit properly but I, erm, didn't. And she's done. It's turned out just like I imagined 5 months ago, but to be honest the whole thing's just filled me with even more admiration for the work some people on here achieve in a fraction of the time.

Has to be this one surely ?

Sprayed the final coat of paint, let it dry, peeled off two layers of masking, and... ...from 6ft away, hurtling past at 20mph, it'll look quite good.

For sale Tamiya Isuzu Mu, Wrangler, Isuzu Mu y Pajero

You're selling a job-lot. Well, 2 job-lots. So you can only expect job-lot offers, which is about a quarter of what you're asking. As it is, it'll only appeal to someone who just wants one of your cars with a view to selling the others on, or even breaking them to get some of their money back. You're not selling a collection as such, you're basically just selling several very similar and not-that-special cars. As many others have already suggested, offer each car separately, with a price and a rough estimate of shipping costs. -
I've spent many hundreds of hours playing Gran Turismo but I never made it beyond the PS2. My favourite was the Nismo 400R - if I won one of those I could never bring myself to sell it. (goes to Ebay to look for a Tamiya R33-GTR and Nismo decals...)

Bid on another RC car on Ebay and lost. Probably just as well. Also went out in our 1:1 Mini, probably 6 months since it last ran.

Masking and spraying. Again.

Play PacMan on your own street ! Go to Google Maps this morning and there's a 'PacMan' link alongside the 'Earth' one. I know what you're thinking. What's today's date ? But can you afford not to go and check anyway ?...

Had to look for something in the attic, and unearthed my old Mini-4WD Jr's while I was there.

Today the postman brought me ... nothing. Just like Saturday, Friday and Thursday. So much for "Estimated delivery Thu, 26th Mar" and my plans for a busy weekend.

Received a text from a mate saying he's been helping his parents move house and has found all his old RC cars and kit from when he was a kid. And I can have it all for free.

Here's my wife's Mini. Couldn't find a Monte Carlo at the time so just bought the Racing Mini kit. Still not got round to painting it. Much later, I bought the extra bits from the Monte (grille, bumpers, spotlights, numberplates, mirrors) and just mounted them over the top of the moulded grille, with a couple of small holes. Looks good enough for me, purists may disagree...

Turnigy receiver switch, to be used for, erm, well, something.

Open it, build it, brush-paint it matt-black, crash it into the kerb then chuck the box in the bin. Dare ya.

Bit of stocktaking. All these work perfectly, see no reason to upgrade my old cars. Got a 2.4GHz one for a couple of new builds.

I've built some amazing stuff. In my head. In the real world, I just have a pile of half-finished or not-started projects and a massive to-do list.

Primed the WK2. Not as pink as it looks in the photo. Not yet anyway...

Other than an M03 Mini I've only ever built monster/wheelie trucks. Inspired by some of the cool builds I've seen on here and elsewhere, I fancy building something different. I'm particularly taken by this kind of thing : I've got a Unimog shell already but those Bruder truck cabs look like a cheap way forward too. What would be a good basic chassis for me to use to build an on-road racing/drift truck ? I can't get my head round all the chassis variants, all the talk of TL-01, TT-02, TA-03 etc is just white noise to me. I'm guessing the M01-6 might be too small ? Not bothered about ultimate performance/handling, having it look right is at least as important. Need something flexible - don't want to buy something that then limits me in terms of what wheels I can fit or that's difficult to get parts for etc. But I'm happy to adapt or modify it as required, I think that some of these chassis lend themselves better to that than others ? Cheap is good (obviously) but i just want to buy the right thing. Ta.

Bought more paint in my last remaining local model shop. Resisted buying the Super Clodbuster kit they had on the shelf. For now.

New white wheels and alloy body mounts for a Lunchbox.
-
Made a right balls-up of respraying my WW2.

Looks like I outbid you Nobbi1977. But I didn't win it either.

Popped into a local-ish model shop for the first time in at least 15 years. Nice to see an old-fashioned shop still going.
