Think I might have posted some of these before. My '89 GSX-R750RK - like Nitomor's lovely ZXR-R, it's a homologation special : My modified 350LC : One of several KR250's : Cluster of Gag bikes : The missus has a couple of other bikes too, and we share a Mini :

Looks good to me. I just googled it to see what it's "supposed" to look like, the arches overwhelm the wheels I reckon. Yours looks more purposeful and hot-rod-y, just raise the body at the rear by one clip.

I think I speak for everyone here when I say I'd like to see the woodlouse video...

This drove me f.batty when trying to get the right look on my Lowride Pumpkin. I know how offset works on proper 1:1 cars, but you can't trust the RC lot to follow the same rules, sometimes they mean the opposite.

I don't like to follow the herd. Hence Wild Kitty, which is another kit that I also recommend if you fancy making your own mark on something.

You can't go wrong with any CW-01.

You don't have a Lunchbox. Therefore, you need a Lunchbox. Hope this helps.

But you gained 10mph top-end...

Speedy's "Bump Steer" Lunch Box Build Thread
StrokerBoy replied to speedy_w_beans's topic in The Builds
Can't believe I've never seen this thread before. Love it, nice work. -
Didn't know about this book until I read about it on here yesterday. Ordered one straight away from Tony's Tamiya Parts, arrived just now, top service as usual.

Removing the little plastic nibs/nubs whatever you call them
StrokerBoy replied to novicelad's topic in General discussions
Ignoring the fresh wound in my photo, you'll notice several scabs and nicks from the previous steps in the build. Next time I should probably get some chainmail gloves like a butcher wears... -

Side-cutters to detach the parts, then an X-Acto knife to carefully trim off the excess and slice through my finger. -
Getting weird about realism in my old age
StrokerBoy replied to Saito2's topic in General discussions
You can't help what you like and don't like. We're all different, and that's a very good thing. Personally, I don't get buggies at all. Any of 'em. They all look like random kids toys to me, from some futuristic cartoon. Maybe if I'd grown up in the Californian desert instead of Yorkshire then I'd feel differently. I also really hate bodyshells that supposedly replicate a specific real vehicle but actually just look more like a melted margarine tub with some stickers on (see below). If you can't get it right, don't bother. I like realism too, that's why I'm a Tamiya fan. The mechanicals I'm less bothered about. And don't paint a shell without masking the windows F.F.S, how is the driver supposed to see out ? And now, to completely undermine my own argument... my favourite RC of all time is the original Lancia Rally, with the silly wide stance. The later more-realistic 037 doesn't do it for me at all. So my opinion is essentially worthless. Carry on ! -
Any more pics of the Laguna ?

Our kitchen table is actually my work desk Mon-Fri. With 4 laptops on it we can't use it for eating or food prep, never mind RC building. There's a workbench in the garage but that's covered in bits of motorbike. That's why I rarely make any progress on my RC to-do list...

Re-release Escort Cosworth (Michelin or tiger-stripe). More wacky stuff along the lines of the Dancing Rider, Monster School Bus, Kumamon etc. Bosozoku Nissan Cube. Proper hard bodies instead of lexan. No more buggies.

Recreate: 58036 Audi Quattro / 58040 Lancia Rally
StrokerBoy replied to ALEXKYRIAK's topic in General discussions
Been away, so just catching up on 3 weeks worth of posts on here. The chaps giving you all the useful advice are who inspired me in the first place. -

One click of a BuyItNow button on Ebay, so approx 1/5th second. It was a couple of years ago, not sure how easy they are to find now. The wheels/tyres came earlier this year thanks to Grastens, and the manual was a simple download. -

I've got a new re-release Brat kit, a complete new 037 body kit and a set of genuine Lancia Rally wheels/tyres with a view to making my own recreation. It won't be a perfect copy and I don't care about the hard-to-find and expensive front bumper - all that matters to me is the cartoonish stance of the original. It's still on my "to-do" pile though. -
I'm a bit disappointed really. I guess it was impossible to maintain the looks of the real thing whilst cramming all the electronics and leaning/self-righting mechanism in.
-
Ha ha! I've seen the pictures. Yellow indeed, I should have guessed. Might have to get one of these.

Another tatty Corvette shell for the Kyosho HiRider2 that my mate gave me. Not sure why I bought it really, the holes are in the wrong place for my chassis, and it's not much better than the old one (which is the plain blue one if you were wondering...).

I clicked on a facebook link to Tamiyablog, where there were details of the new Rally Beetle. Much more interesting (to me) was a page on there suggesting a possible future release of a "3-wheeled bike", with a photo of a Honda Gyro Canopy. These were everywhere when I visited Japan, used for courier work and fast-food delivery. There are several other canopy-less variants too, all hilarious. It'll need a rider of course, get your knee-sliders on Willy ! Hope it comes off. I've resisted all recent new kits and re-releases but I'm having one of those.

MF-01X Comversion / Hop Ups
StrokerBoy replied to SuperChamp82's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
I never said I knew what I was talking about. Maybe stick with the MF01X chassis then, but try some different wheels. Something wider with more offset, so they stick out more, although that's just my own personal taste I admit. It's not easy though is it ? I went through 5 sets of wheels and loads of spacers/hubs trying to make my Lowride Pumpkin sit right, and still never really got it spot-on. . Now I'm thinking it needs a white stripe and a magnetic orange roof light...
