  1. That makes sense...thanks!
  2. Thanks!
  3. Okay, this is definitely a noob question but why does a Lipo 2s state 7.4v on the packaging but actually puts out 8.4v at a full charge? I know a lot of Tamiya ESC's state they can handle up to 7.2v but a fully charged nimh can output 9v+..how do they not burn out from an over voltage condition? very confusing.
  4. Okay, a little confused...as far as for storage, I've heard to keep a 2s lipo at 3.8v/cell. Isn't a 2s only 7.4volts? wouldn't that equal out to be 2cells x 3.8v=7.6v????
  5. 'cheap' Is that better? LOL
  6. Thanks, any suggestions on decent, cheap 2s lipo's?
  7. Just received a Lipo charger from my dad for my birthday...any recommendations on hard case Lipo packs that will fit the neo scorcher, sand scorcher and M-05? I already know that my M-05 and Sandscorcher will need low voltage alarms since they both use Tamiya ESC's...Also, the charger does look pretty simplistic (which is fine with me) but how do you condition a battery for storage...I don't see any 'maintenance mode' setting on it? This is the charger he got me - http://www.towerhobbies.com/products/duratrax/dtxp4620.html
  8. Never heard of that happening...that definitely sucks! I know my Tamiya 104 BK esc states 'up to 7.2v' but I've been using a 8.4v nimh for awhile now and no smoke yet =) It does thermal once in awhile if I'm constantly running through grass.
  9. Any ESC should be able to at least handle a 2s at 8.4v
  10. That looks great!!! and it looks like you have quite a bit more ground clearance I totally agree about the diffs, they are garbage in stock form. I replaced them with the df-02 steel ones because I was stripping them about every run with a 15T motor. The body doesn't look to be too high....it gives it kind of an offroad, crawler look. The 10mm larger wheels should offset that a little. Good idea using zip ties to attach the body mounts. It looks like otherwise you would have to buy quite a few parts just to convert the body mounts. I probably won't go the Traxxas shock route, (although those shocks do look pretty) but will instead purchase 2 more of the rear CVA dampers to mount to the front. I'm actually quite surprised how good the stock, plastic shocks are.
  11. I'm very interested in seeing how this goes...I have a TT-02B and love it other than the horrendous ground clearance. I need a truck for my fleet but can't justify to the wife why I need another vehicle. If this project works out for you, I'll be on it =) As far as mounting the body, you may want to download the manual for the tt-02t and see how the 4 body posts are mounted as opposed to the 2 on the tt-02b. You most likely will have to swap out a few parts to convert it. Not sure about the shocks because there is only so much travel in the swingarms with that chassis. My biggest worry though would be with the gearing. The plastic gears and diff struggle as it is in stock form (especially the gears in the rear). I would definitely invest in some metal gears first if you install monster truck wheels. Where did you buy just the sandshaker body?
  12. Nice looking M-05 you got there =)
  13. XV Pilot - My motor didn't have any lettering or anything to go off of...(U.S. version?)was not really happy that it didn't include instructions or leads. Hopefully his does
  14. Just checked my motor and it appears with the motor shaft facing away from you - 1st terminal (far left) is for blue, middle terminal yellow and 3rd terminal (far right) orange. I assume it would be the same for any motor
  15. You might be able to test it with alligator clips to determine the correct configuration. You will also need to connect the sensor wire for it to work.
  16. I'll have to look at my set up when I get home...I don't believe you will damage anything if you don't connect them correctly, at least I never have. You'll know if it is wrong because the motor won't work and you'll hear a high pitched noise. I couldn't find directions so I connected it probably 2-3 times before I finally got it right.
  17. It sounds like you figured it out, glad you found a solution to your TV Also, check out Smartglass...it should be on your computer if you have Windows 10, if not it's a free download. It doesn't 'mirror' the screen but is a really neat companion and gives you information that can't be displayed on the screen while you play a game. I use it all of the time playing Madden 16, it gives me stats and the offensive/defensive tendencies of the teams I'm playing to help me choose plays. I have Titanfall too, but haven't gotten around to playing it yet, so not sure how it works with it..of course, you would need another computer running if you're already mirroring the screen.
  18. Still a cool feature if you want to play music in another room =)
  19. I don't believe the 360 can stream games. I do know it is smart glass compatible and can stream music, movies and pictures to/from Windows computers with Media Center.
  20. There is one stipulation to the streaming...you need to have Windows 10 installed on the computer (and a decent router). Basically, Win10 comes with an 'XBox' app, you click 'stream' under the app and then everything that appears on your xbox streams to the computer...it basically mirrors the signal to your TV. It's great when my wife wants to watch a show on regular TV, I can just go to my man cave with the tablet and a controller and play a game.
  21. My wife bought me a xbox one for my bday/Christmas and it really is an amazing system. I'm not a huge 'gamer' but usually play madden and battlefield 4 on it. The coolest thing about it is being able to stream your game onto a computer in another room while the wife watches tv.
  22. LOL...when I first saw that commercial I was thinking, "really, an accord? that's somebody's dream car?" It is a nice looking car, but come on!
  23. Thanks, that's what I thought...shouldn't be too difficult as long as I don't shock myself to death ;-P
  24. Thanks, it seems to 'work' with a 7 cell but I was having issues with it thermaling in grass. Now I see it's probably a very bad idea since it's only rated for up to 7.2v.
  25. Hi guys, I have a spare 7 cell battery that was an impulse buy awhile back...unfortunately, it does not fit into anything but my modified Sand Scorcher. I tried running it in my Sand Scorcher last night with a torque tuned motor and it goes like a scalded rat. Unfortunately, the ESC seems to thermal after about 5 minutes of running. My question is, can this esc handle 8.4v safely? I know the motor is pretty mild so now I'm concerned that the extra 1.2 volts may be too much for it... I'd hate to just not use the battery since it's a new 4200mah nimh...is there a way to remove 1 cell safely? I might try limiting the throttle endpoint to 85% and see if that helps with the overheating issues. Any input?
