I have just got a mud blaster II, the body is the clear plastic not like the old BRAT bodies. I am tempted to pour a mould off it and use the vacuum former at work to knock something out in a bit thicker plastic. I want a good basher body so detail is less important. Has anyone tied this before?

I am sure. But I will still strip and check it is ball raced throughout. Need two sets of cheap but fantastic oil shocks now.

Well part of my order has turned up. The two chassis are delayed, they only had one so I tried to cancel. The offered me a fully built shop demo with body instead so we will se what turns up at the end of the week.

Fantastic. Love the look I have just put a 80T in my Hornet for my 5year old, fast but not so fast he cannot just keep the stick forward on a large field. This is great hobby for family's. I just got my 3 year old a 1/32 scale to get her in the right frame of mind You have a lot more painting skill then I will ever have.

Not that it was worth watching I will try and do some more when I trust the boy in control and can hold the camera properly.

Wanted - Rear wheel drive adaptor - Hornet, Lunchbox, Grasshopper

Hi Not getting an image from that link -
Struggling to get the Lunchbox steering arms to fit with out hitting all over the place. Had to drill out the holes to get the balls to screw in. Tried a flat saver but that was no better, I might have to buy some ends and custom make them better.

I am guessing the last owner used normal paint because every knock splits a. Bit more paint off
-
I have added spektrum to my search. Their stick stuff looks good as well
-
I did think about that but removing paint seems a pain. I am from the would of restoring bikes so paint always goes on the top
-
Many thanks for the advice. Motor here and fitted and the top speed is about spot on for my son and no chance of a roll with tight turns now. Rear mods have worked very well and the read axel seemed much more controlled. Need to decide what to do about paint /stickers now. The paint is chipping off the inside so tempted to do a proper spray job on the outside
-
Thanks I will look in to that. I had started to look at transmitters and receivers as separate items rather than just getting a box set.

Sounds like most things in life. What I am looking for is advice on MHZ, type, brand and places to buy from. I can google but nothing is better than personal recommendations. I am happy to go with cheaper gear (i have no idea what is cheap or expensive at the moment) and then move on to better equipment as I move in to the hobby. I am never going to race and most of my time will be building or teaching my son (and daughter later on) to drive them.

I have a hornet with an Attack 2ER radio.it seems ok but I have now "acquired" a few more kits so need a second set of gear. Is there a comprehensive newbie post about radio gear or can someone recommend a cheap reliable setup and the best place to by at the best price. I have a stick setup now but the Raygun looking radios look cheaper, I cannot fathom who they work though. Any advice for a numpty?

I had a look on their site and ordered some wheels and Mad Bull bodies, and a Mud blaster II (£78 sounded like a bargain to me ) I need a second set of radio gear now and I am sorted, and in great trouble, for the future.
-
Well since he does combined postage I decided to order two. It's like getting the second one half price. I will build one up and see, if not then both will get built and stuck back on EBay.
-
I might get one and decide on a body and wheels later. The hornet now has a 80t motor for my 5 year old to master so I need a toy. I have a spare esc so just need radio gear. The Dt-01 02 and 03 options seem to be about the same sort of price but a Madbull might suit me best overall. Would be nice to just swap wheels for different roles though.

Looks like this seller has Mad Fighter kits for sale for £34 No wheels or body or electronics but could be a good build if I can find cheap other bits. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221601334360?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT What are the wheel options for the MaD Fighter and is it a worthwhile kit to build? I have a Hornet at the moment.

No idea what a sensible offer would be but if you PM me what you looking for I might be interested. It will get built and run though, I never leave anything in the box
-
Thanks I will research the 3rd shock mod.

Needed a bit taking out to fit the spring Standard v modified. There is a spare screw hole. I plugged this with a screw and it adds force and limits movement. Will test when weather is better but looks good from pushing on table.

Been looking at the rear today, it locks up to fast on the pivot and only needs about 1/3 of the travel for full Axel articulation. I got a set of LB springs with the front axle kit and they are a lot thicker than stock. The holder bits needed a bit of modification. Photos to follow
