Ok so the build it stock went out the window the second I looked in the cupboard for some bearings and found two motors looking for homes.
So for the Comical Grasshopper we have a choice of Silvercan on TBLE-02, Kawada 17.5T on TBLE-02 or Trackstar 4000kV on a Trackstar ESC.
Also do I go 18 or 20 on the pinion.
Please do not ask the obvious question about what I am going to use it for because if I was capable of answering that I probably would one have one car and a larger bank balance.

Out of curiosity, how are you posting the items?
I have a few things to sell but don't want to head to the post office.
I am using Myhermes. They collect from the house for 60p extra.
I know they don’t have the best reputation but I have always found them to be ok

I am not 100% but I think the lox voltage protection is built in the the batteries not the tools so you should be ok with that.

A light going over with a hairdryer can help them stick, or restick if they are lifting

I have one on order. Bearing have arrived.
The only other thing I am looking at it the high torque servo saver and arm. The alloy arm is horrendously expensive for what it is.
Any hop-up suggestions from there’s who have built this chassis in another guise?

Looks great and a for an amazing cause as well.
If I’d seen it for sale earlier I would have bought it back- even though I know it is just the shell that’s left from the Xtreme you bought from me.
I have many fond memories of running the original truck with my daughters.
Yep it has sat around and had many a good idea thrown at it. The lack of availability of a new grill eventually took me down the path of “fixing” the original.
Let’s hope Sammo drive the snot off it as well. He will have to find a better way to mount the body though.

If I had half your skill I would have a house full of these things. Luckily for my wife I only have about 2%
Great to see another one of your builds

Added some TRX rock sliders to my Blackfoot before it goes off to a new home. Strangely they are the perfect length.

The shell for this came very well loved and I ran it as a beach toy for a bit. I sold the chassis on and kept the body as a project. It is held together with a lot of hot glue and the image was supposed to be of a budget mud racer. (Look up mud bogging on YouTube). It is secured with invisible mounts because I always wanted to try them, the shell would fly off if run very hard.
The sun does make the paint look better than it is. I have tried to show this on the white door, it was the effect I was going for but the sun hides it a bit.
The chassis was built of spare parts. The gearbox was off my Daughter’s lightly run WR-02 and is ballraced. The chassis parts and bumpers are new.
Wheels are off a Maverick Scout and it is now running the standard pogo sticks.
All money paid for this will go to Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service. They do a fantastic job for free and their fundraising opportunities have dried up with the current situation.
I will cover the cost of postage within the UK (as long as it is basic service, NI and tip of Scotland might require a couple more quid)
£50 sound a fair price to me but feel free to drop me an offer if that seems high.

I don't think it does. Maybe it did 20 years ago when I had to spend $100 for an ESC. Nowadays, electronic parts are so much better, it won't damage the ESC. As far as the motor is concerned, it doesn't know whether it's getting full power or intermittent power. If anything the motor will last longer.
Flysky GT3C has EPA (end point adjustment).
But if you want to get a motor instead,
Stock silver can 27t would have 15,000 rpm
35t would have 13,000 rpm
45t would have 9000 rpm
55t would have 7500 rpm
However, you might find that after getting a 45t or 55t, it might still be too fast. Because how fast is so subjective, it changes all the time, even for me. In that case, you'd have to adjust EPA anyway. But if you get a 55t motor and decided not to use it, you will have to buy a crawler. You can't let a perfectly good motor to go waste.
Does it have separate endpoint adjustments? I have found on some of mine you can turn the range down so it is nice and slow but then you get no brakes.

do the wild dagger, the twin detonator, and blackfoot xtreme all share the same chassis?
Crikey this thread is a blast from the past.
They all share the same basic chassis but the Wild Dagger and Twin Detonator run two gearboxes.

You will then need to build a new car for yourself at full speed 😂

Thanks guys. Will have a look at both options. Lego is a great idea. What would be the top speed on a 50t and 80t?
80t was about right for 6-8 and the 50t was ok for 8+.
My son is 10 now and is just about getting it with a silvercan in a confined space.
I have a 50T spare if you want it. Just cover the postage. Drop me a pm

Why not just put the silver 540 in?
JJ
A silvercan is still to fast for kids in a confined space. They need to be able to just keep it wide open and just steer to start with.

It's funny, i just said this to my girlfriend last night when she was asking why I don't just start building right away instead gathering parts first.
"Don't you want to have fun driving it?"
"90% of the fun for me is building"
I am not a great driver and the space and time needed to drive is not always available. Plus charging batteries in advance is a pain.
Building and modifying is the fun for me

A 50t or 80t motor works best. I have run both for my kids in a few different cars.
A brushed motor is cheap and the kids can just keep it wide open all the time and worry about the steering

There might be, but I suspect that it would be limited. Most people I know choose Tamiya precisely because of the build experience. I know only one chap who would rather run Tamiyas built by someone else than build them himself. Still, if you find several such individuals, it might be enough to keep you supplied with projects.
I would almost pay to build other people’s cars. They can cut and paint their own bl**dy bodies though.

So to add to this I just found a 13.5t generic blue can and a new Trackstar 10.5T as well.
Also found a 3.5T, not sure about that one...
