Non for 2015. I will download them all and find a calendar template and see if I can combine them.

Nice thread, I saw some of your prototype pictures before on the showrooms if I remember right.
Have you had a chance to take a look at the DT-01 rear suspension yet? I think you might find it very inspiring for you Super Fly Hornet development.
There is a square hole in the hornet chassis at the back of the battery box waiting to be filled with a pin for the dt-01 back end. I just need to get off my *** and learn this kind of thing.

A box art calendar would be nice. Not sure what models but sure there must be some that rise above in the artistic stakes
-
I just need to decide what to do with it now. Might put it aside while I build the DT-02 and then decide if it needs a new home.

You should use brass 5 mm ball joints on top and lower ends of the rear dampers. For sure the work better than with the screws.

I have some in the bits box, I will look after the weekend. Thanks

Correct body post fitted

Close up of the mesh

Well I ordered a cheap set of Tamiya shocks for this one. Two reasons, I am cheap and I fancied building some from parts

The parts a very easy to understand

I fitted the longer ends, they look about the right length

The DT-01 springs might have been a better length but they are a bit wider so would not fit

Filling with oil

Parts for rear

About the right length

Used an O ring to space the fitting bolt to hold the damper to the outer side. kept it well clear of hitting the shock tower

All done and they are much better than stock. The rear end does not seem to lock up on compression anymore.
Added some mess on the vents as well, I quite like the look

Very nice
You going to be selling this as a kit? If you make enough money you could design a 4 bar linkage for the back..............................
I have so much admiration for people who have the skills you have, I would love to able to use my computer to do more that Facebook

Many thanks. they are a thing of beauty, pity they are hidden by the wheels

Yes but we don't do all what we do for the real worth of the items with which we play.

Very true, I used to do bike trackdays about 10 times a year. Now that is a way to eat through cash.

A couple of these dampers worth twice the entire model ahahah!!!

Max
That was what I was thinking. Any hop ups for this are going to cost more than the chassis
-
I thought it was about time I took a look at the diff and drive. I did not build this so I thought i best check it was all steel.

Looks like the back end from a DT-01 would fit

Gears look good, not much grease but I will solve this

Reassembled with a O-ring on each pinion. Should give an amount of limited slip without total lock up

All back together and the axle seems to be good but we will not know to I get to back on the wet grass

Time for a touch of paint while i wait for the body mount.
Plain shell is not too bad but casting marks and sharp edges needed sanding

First mask up before I changed my mind.

Single tone. Alloy wheel silver (£1 a tin from poundland)

Roof looks a bit shoddy where I had to sand it.

Needs a bit of high build primer but instead I thought I would try something else
Gloss black roof still showing marks but it will do for now, will need redoing the first time I flip it

The 54567 dampers will fit the DT-02, too. They differ from regular CVA dampers in having a single-piece metal piston, and do not come with mounting hardware.
The regular pistons are a 2-piece affair using a metal rod and plastic discs (with different hole counts for adjustments) secured by e-clips.
Cool, I will build them up and see when they get here.
So many options

I ordered a set of Tamiya 54567 dampers last week, but I cannot remember which chassis I was going to put them on. Model sport list them as for DT-03 but will they Fit DT-02 or 01?

To keep or just as a build helper?

Regarding this i also saw that Fibre-Lite sell carbon fibre shock towers which I am hoping to source. Mega bling and less flex than aluminium!
You lot are going to have me broke and divorced by the end of the month

I think that reference to plastic is a typo on the EBay advert. The same shocks with the same part number are shown as alloy on Modelsport's website:
http://www.modelsport.co.uk/absima-alu-dampers-75mm-1-10-2-/rc-car-products/369642
And cheaper than EBay as well.
Got a couple of bits finishing on EBay this weekend so might have to get spending. Fancy a GoPro though but shocks seem like a must.

Use Google translate in chrome. Works well. I speak no German and ordered quite a bit.
Postage is a flat £11 ish so it pays to order a bit in one go.
They post via dhl so it is tracked to your door

Aye, it is. Carson do an alloy shock tower brace, available from Fusion Hobbies amongst others. 3Racing do a replacement shock tower assembly in carbon and alloy. There are probably other aftermarket towers available too.
However most people make their own brace out of a couple of ball connectors and a turnbuckle or threaded rod, which seems to work just as well.
I was looking at the carbon shock extension and brace kit, recommended by a race website. I was just thinking if I could replace the whole lot it might be quicker than waiting for the C parts.
I am going to finish playing with the Bull Fighter body this week end I think and still got lots to do to the Hornet so not short of things to do........

Also, do you have a link to those Carson wheels? I quite fancy a set myself!
Love the two tone. Just masked up for much the same but in black on silver.
Wheels are here

You got a link for the shocks you used?

Would be interesting to see if they are any good at that price. Is there a tried and tested section on this site?
