  1. Nice cars, I have a few TA04's in various states right now. Finding the J parts for the carbon chassis was nearly impossible for a while. Found a few on ebay and jumped on them immediately. Will hopefully start building one soon.
  2. I haven't shared in quite a while! Here's an ebay special that actually arrived last week, at $50 USD posted, I think it was a fantastic deal. Original, never run M02, nicely trimmed but unfinished A110 body, all the left over parts are still on the sprues. I'm quite excited about this one.
  3. gruesome! I run a 2S lipo on all my cars and have yet to break anything. Did you have your diff set tight?
  4. Can we please discuss this? Naturally I want it, but it looks like the price has been set at $300 USD.. Yes, it's 2700 pieces, but I'm not sure I'm willing to spend that much on a static model. Never mind that fact that 90% of my tamiya kits end up as static models anyways. The 42043 Arocs retails at $229 USD and has more pieces and arguably more features, seems like the Porsche tax is on a full effect
  5. In for future updates. Will be interesting to see what bodies will become available with the new chassis for the non-pro variety.
  6. Plugged my battery in backwards once. The end. Saddle pack batteries and bullet connectors made it really easy to start a fire. Fried a castle MMP esc and learned a very expensive lesson that day.
  7. A little out of the way, but you should try giving Frontline hobbies in Newcastle a ring.
  8. 20% off on Amazon in the states over the weekend. Naturally, mine arrived yesterday. Enormous box is enormous.
  9. That looks great! There's a small part of me that wonders if I should've sprung for a CR01, but I am nevertheless happy with my choice.
  10. I will say this though, there is a real lack of Toyota bodies in this thread. I need some inspiration for my FJ40!
  11. TN - if its been said already, I'll say it again: thanks for sharing your techniques and ideas with us! These are very valuable tools I'll definitely be using in the near future. The tow hook idea is so simple and brilliant, that I think I'll be doing that on most of my bodies.
  12. This thread made me buy my first CC01. FJ40 kit on the way! Thanks for tipping the scales guys!
  13. I have the plain TT01 variety if those offered by TamiyaVancouver don't work for you. Located in the states.
  14. Added a significant amount of aluminum and a sliver of carbon to my TA03F shelf queen. Not sure why I feel compelled to hop-up this shelf queen as much as I have. The rare 53325 steering knuckles were an unexpected bonus that came with an 03R I recently acquired, so on to the shelf queen they went after a quick cleaning.
  15. I built a TT01 with alloy shaft, bearings and CVA shocks to be used as a "loaner" for friends and neighbors. It's always a hit with them and I don't cringe when it smacks a curb at full beans like I would if they did with any of my other, more expensive cars. That being said, I think it's a fantastic chassis. It does quite well for an entry level kit, especially with real suspension.
  16. Welcome! Judging from your plans, you'll fit right in around here. Take a look at this thread if you need some inspiration: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=75564 There is some real talent on this forum and that thread is full of great builds.
  17. You are incredibly skilled, TN! These look fantastic!
  18. I just got one of these for $90 US at ikea. Goes together very nicely and not quite as cheap in look/feel as you'd expect. The wife was impressed. That has to count for something. Fit my 1/10's perfectly, I will need to get a decent picture of it in the day time. The one I took earlier this week won't be doing anyone any favors.
  19. Has tamiya ever re-re'd hop-ups?
  20. So, Black9, what do you charge for this service? That looks great!
  21. As Chis mentioned, J parts (50703) and lots of counter-sunk screws are all you need if you're building it in standard length.
  22. I was away from any internet for a few days, H-parts are sold out
  23. For a ball diff I take it? The plastic variety is pretty easy to find on ebay. As far as the pulleys, aluminum most likely would've survived. But you'd buy 5 plastic ones for the price of an aluminum pulley these days.
