Blue belt on my black plastics TA03F pro/DJ replica. Also bought it when it cost as much as a normal belt.
-
The TA03 has certainly not been forgotten. It's a fair bit younger than the 01/02 variants, so it hasn't reached that status yet. It is widely considered the grandfather of RC drifting by many. In fact, a drift specific TA03F was released not very long ago. I think you'll see less of it from Tamiya because they'll never produce a truck version because of the exposed belt. I myself have 3. And would gladly buy another. But much like the 01/02, the hop ups are beginning to cost exorbitant amounts of money.

That's a great idea! Definitely better than the black on bottom gunmetal on top two tone idea I was thinking about. Thanks XV.

Pretty happy with my neo fighter build so far. Fitted the electronics, painted/trimmed/decaled/mounted the wing, and fired it up inside the house and made the cats very upset. Results are promising. No idea what to do with the body paint-wise. Open to suggestions.

Good to know! -
One of my favorites. I daily drive a 1:1 850 T5 wagon. Definitely interested in the final product. My actual car/tamiya transporter

No regrets! Picture doesn't do justice, they look fantastic.

Built shocks and masked off tire beads/bearing seats to paint the wheels on my dt03 build. I'm currently in love with tamiya gun metal, so that's what I'm going with. Not sure what to do with the body yet.

Back in stock on tower. The temptation to buy another is strong. -
Will brushed motors and ESC's dissappear?
volvotech replied to mynameisdannyowens's topic in General discussions
^ James, I hear you bud. But my brushless equipment from castle, as an example, has a usb interface and software that opens up an entirely different world of tuning that easily fills the brushed motor tuning void. At any rate, I've found that many modern brushless ESC's are also brushed compatible and can also be used with older battery technology. And with lipo alarms being as cheap as they are you can use lipo on older brushed esc's that don't have a low voltage cutoff. This way you can take your time switching your gear out a little at a time. That's what I've been doing anyways. My fleet is a mixed batch of brushed and brushless with lipo batteries and an alarm or external cutoff paired on the older ESC's. -
Sounds about right ozace.

Interesting. My R32 shell was the first time I tried using TS paint on the wing and mirrors. I love the way it turned out, but now you guys have me second guessing this method. The finish is a very close match, I was only left wondering if I should've used some TS clear to protect the finish? If you guys are simply using PS, I'm clearly over thinking. -
I've had many over the years, but they've all been second hand. But from what I've learned, the major differences have been suspension. Front and rear. Here's a link to an article with good info. Particularly regarding the different suspension layouts. http://jvmotorsport.co.uk/?p=160 The majority of hop ups are useable throughout the model range. There are a few f103gt specific parts, however.

^I was thinking that a few days ago. Those of us that build these box stock (aside from bearings of course) need to meet up and race these things! -
I think that's what's so great about an entry level buggy. You can do whatever you want without any guilt about straying from box art. And with CVA's and tble-02s included in the box, it's a great bargain.

Dorvack was spot on. I'm about a third through my neo fighter build and I'm really enjoying it. I take my time with my builds, really take in the construction with each step - appreciating the design as I go along. This to me is where my models really become "mine".

Speedy's F103GT Nissan GTR LM Nismo Build Thread

It's like tamiya was coming after me when they released this and the GT2 Porsche. Subscribed because speedy is a bad influence. -
Mastino - your driving has improved significantly! But I miss seeing your jeep on its roof LOL

Got started on my DT03 neo fighter build while waiting on more parts (preaching to the choir?). My first buggy. I'm really enjoying the build thus far. With the exception of trimming the body. I'll do 10 touring cars before trimming a slim, heavily contoured buggy body again! Anyways, "accidentally" got a few hop ups for it. I really thought I'd do a box stock build and go from there, who was I kidding? Aluminum servo holder, turnbuckle set, carbon front tower and suspension shafts. For now haha..

Mastino - your driving, it's terrifying LOL

Getting closer to finishing this body for my TA05. Months in the making only working about 10 minutes at a time LOL. Will be using bronze hpi TE37 wheels, just waiting on new tires. Also tried pairing my new spektrum dx4c to my existing sr301 receiver, the site claims the dx4c is backwards compatible. A closer look in the owners manual and it's only backwards compatible to DSM2 receivers. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. Now I can have two runners going at a time!

There's usually a $15 off coupon code in a link at the top left of the homepage. And they had been doing free shipping all last week. Mine came to $130 (x2) after a discount for $30 and a gift card that I'd earned on a previous purchase.
