  1. The TT cars are great, but I'm with Chris. I'm just a basher, but my TA cars don't disappoint.
  2. Ordered a pair today. My first TA02!
  3. Few days old picture, but more bits for the next project arrived. I was going to do a stock build, but after browsing a few build threads here I decided a few hopups are... necessary. We'll go with that.
  4. In stock at tower as well.
  5. I started applying the details on the new GT-R runner body I had intended to use on my ta05 basher. Painted PS-23 based on suggestions from this thread, I might add. The finish is so stunning, I'm second guessing my decision on running it.
  6. Bizarre. I wasn't even aware of such a kit. I thought the enzo was only released on a TB chassis. A beautiful body I must say. Personally, I don't think an MSC tt01 would ever really reach collector status. More like a peculiarity by tamiya. I'd be interested to see how it goes together though.
  7. The box is where the initial excitement for the kits comes from when you finally get it in your hands. Nothing sad about that. I've reused and repurposed many old kit boxes as I can't bring myself to toss them.
  8. I'm going to order a pair from tower. At $160, free shipping promotion and a coupon code the price is very competitive for those of us in the states, in my opinion. And I normally receive my orders within 3 days, which is great for those of us that dislike waiting.
  9. It may be worth the extra $2 for slightly faster shipping. Getting tamiya products from Japan on Amazon can be excruciatingly slow. And at least one of those sellers doesn't package items very well, I ordered a body once that arrived nice and flattened. Just my 2 cents.
  10. Do ta03 shafts/cvd's fit the ta02? I've never owned an 02 chassis, so I'm pretty excited.
  11. Yup, definitely can't wait to get one of these.
  12. I'm with nobbi. A spare body is a tragedy, so you'll just have to get another chassis.
  13. I ran my splitter on the front for so long I don't even remember what it felt like having it in the rear. Either way, I think it's a great add on once you get used to it.
  14. That depends on the ESC you're using. Most do these days, but it may require a setup procedure or settings adjustment.
  15. Finally got around to adding a sway bar to my ta05 basher. Starting off with only a soft bar in the rear, looking for just a little over steer. Naturally it began raining as soon as I finished.
  16. Geezers! I'm enjoying the last few months of my 20's. Turning 30 in August.
  17. I finally get to contribute to this thread! Finished trimming/body holed my latest runner body -Nissan R32- for my ta05. The poorly painted and very old Ferrari 360 shell is beginning to fall apart, time for a change. Haven't decided on a color or wheels yet..
  18. Reading these comments is awesome. It's like meeting long lost siblings. As for me, I went from building tamiya 1:10 on road cars in my teens to building and fixing 1:1 cars for a living as an adult.
  19. Same tooth count but different belt length between standard and short chassis layouts. And plastic was your only choice in tensioner pulley from tamiya. I think gpm and others have aluminum options.
  20. I'm with James. You need 16T pulleys or equivalent combination.
  21. Tried my best to trim a new body with a blade rather than curved scissors. The lines are much cleaner than I'm used to, but I just couldn't get a smooth curve on the wheel arches. They got better as I went along, but you only get 4 tries :-) I don't think I'll be perfecting the craft, guess some sanding is in order.
  22. I'm with speedy. I bash the ever living muck out of my ta05. On road or off, bashing is fun. Get two insanely fast cars going at once and you soon find that avoiding contact is a fun challenge too.
  23. Well, no thanks to this thread, I picked up an xv01 pro. Nothing else yet, but I'm strongly considering the body you used as well. A toss up between that or a lancia shell. This board is a terrible influence on me.
  24. I think those earlier ta03 kits and pro/trf variants are somewhat "grail" worthy. I appreciated that the engine positioning was consistent with the body shell you were getting. If you consider their age and look at a freshly built ta03f pro or DJ, it is quite a stunner. I'm also a huge fan of the F1 series cars and my 15th anniversary edition f103 will definitely be one of my all time favorites. The simplicity makes them elegant and timeless in my book.
  25. You are not alone. I learned similar lessons applying the decals on my girlfriend's xanavi GT-R. It came with pre-cut decals which seemed like a good idea in theory, but the generous edges made it a little more challenging. And I agree, cutting the door handles would've been wise.
