  1. It finally arrived. Ordered these from HK; Asiatees to be exact as seen in the photo. Will be the first father and son build. I would have preferred if it was double boxed to protect the kit box but due to the higher shipping cost this time around, this is ok. Plus having less than 5 days from ordering to recieving it is superb. Hopefully non of the contents are damaged. Inside is ReRe Manta Ray and ball bearings.
  2. Anyone? I need to buy 3 more receivers for an anticipated build and saw a good deal from an online seller.. I'm having a hard time finding the same recieiver it came with before. All I can find is the newer RC6 receiver. Sellers state that it will bind with the RC4G Tx bit I was wondering if anyone here can confirm it. Thanks.
  3. Are you trying to connect the motor leads to the esc? I'm somewhat confused with what you are asking. You connection should be... Motor leads to ESC. Then,ESC should have lead that will connect to the battery and receiver. If you are running a brushless motor, your ESC should have 3 leads to connector to the motor. Usually, yellow, blue and orange. If your ESC only has 2, then that's a brushed ESC. In the case of the TBLE02S, you should be able to use it for either brushed or brushless. Lowes or Home Depot may or may not have the connector you need. If you are using a t-plug, or xt-type, or traxxas type, tamiya, chances are they wont have it. You may be able to buy a bullet/banana/snap type connector for general household use but that is not the preferred connectors for RC, but it will work.
  4. Got a slight delay. Order was supposed to be received Friday but it now says Monday (4/20). I think there was a bottleneck in the port of exit. Either way, getting it on less than a week's time from HK with a reasonable priced shipping cost is a good deal. Plus the price of the kit itself was too good to pass.
  5. Try AsiaTees. I think their shipping cost for FedEx Int. Priority is around $15 usd for parts. Kits could be around $30, depending on weight. What were you buying?
  6. Well, the M-03 was easier to modify... The length was spot on, but the holes are smaller and won't allow the ball bearings to fit in... I had to re-scale it but the overall dimension changed... I am in the process of trying to retain the external dimensions, but try to enlarge the holes to make the bearings fit...
  7. If these are unclaimed and if you are in the US, do you mind giving it to me?
  8. No worries.. thanks for looking out.. cheers!
  9. Thanks... I will try to print later after I print the face shield... I also found knuckle for a TL-01B and I am in the process of modifying it the similar design for a TL-01... I will also try it out...
  10. Yes! Are you based in the US? Will you be willing to sell it to me?
  11. Hello, While patiently waiting for the parts I ordered, I was thinking if anyone has, or know where I can find a steering knuckle design for GF01/TL01. Mine broke and I really wanted to run it with a new motor. Apparently the part I ordered won't be here until May. I do have access to a 3d printer at home. Or maybe even a design for a similar rig and I can just remix it to fit my car? In exchange I dont mind printing a part if needed. Thanks.
  12. My order is coming from Hong Kong. With the Covid crisis, getting the package within a weeks time is superb. It tried to contact Tamico but their shipping cost to the US negates the price of the kit.
  13. According to FedEX, I should get mine tomorrow. I was able to buy the kit and bearings with it... I have a spare basic servo somewhere so I need to find that...
  14. Thanks for looking out. Yeah, it would been great if postage wont cost an arm and leg
  15. I think the EMS is like a global post service that uses the local post office... that is different from UPS or FedEx since those companies uses their own shipping channel distribution
  16. To the OP, did you pay extra for premium shipping, or just a regular post? I know the HK airmail is suspended per their official website to multiple countries including N. America (USA, Canada and Mexico). But to give you another perspective but from another seller based in Hong Kong who used FedEx to ship my order: Order placed April 14 Paypal Cleared April 15 Order Shipped April 16 ETA April 17 (tomorrow). Final destination is Leesburg, Virginia On your PayPal account, does it say pending, or completed? If in any case, you are protected anyway by PayPal. Considering a handful of TC members have ordered and had success with them, I think their track record shows that they are a legit business...
  17. Using their "regular post" is having a negative impact on their shipments. If you order from online stores based in Asia, most of them have advertised the delayed shipment (HK post suspended delivery to a lot of countries btw) and encouraging buyers to use a private shipping company (UPS,FedEx,DHL) but at a premium cost. Given the situation, all of use needs to extend our patience and understanding... with that being said, however, I ordered a ReRe Manta Ray kit and some bearings 2 days ago from AsiaTees.com and I was surprised that they had a the lowest shipping cost (sub $40 via FedEx Int). I checked the ordered today and the status says shipped. Whether the transit time will be within the advertised window or not is yet to be seen. I also used my paypal and I think that also got my ordered delayed for a day since the transaction on my paypal account was pending for a day due to some verification with the order. I guess they had to do that as part of buyer protection. So I messaged paypal and within an hour after, they finally released the money to them and the very next day they shipped the kit.
  18. Would the newer reciever from the RC6 pair with my Tx? I know there's a rebrand of the RC4G from HobbyKing. Can anyone suggest or let me know which Rx to procure. Thanks.
  19. Thank you for the suggestions... I would probably stick with the CC01 for now since I also want to get the Konghead. Then maybe a Clod next... but I don't want to g above my head and build too much excitement... the Tamiya dealer I am in contact with told me that stock deliveries are taking longer than usual so it might not even arrive until summer... however, I don't mind waiting if he is giving me a very good deal on the prices...
  20. Thanks... I was thinking of the gearing the opposite way... i might use my Torque Tuned that came from my GF01 instead of the silvercan... I can actually use the 18t and replace the aluminum stock on my GF01 with the one I just bought while waiting for my HW1060 to come in and put my old school Endoplasma motor in it... As for the Manta Ray, I might just run it sparingly and try to keep it pristine (maybe?)
  21. Whew... good pointers here about the better-half... hehe... but i don't think I'm at your level yet... I appreciate the narrative though... The Kong is for sure... just wondering if I should get 2 of it or one of something else, ie the Amarok CC01... the Clod would be a great kit to have but probably not at this point... I am trying to maximize the (secret) budget I have right now since I may be able to squeeze getting two kits for it... If I buy the Clod, then I will be left with just that... one kit... I might start unloading the HO trains I have packed nicely in the boxes... that's another hobby I really want for myself but hobby trains require real estate...
  22. Do you think I will encounter any overheating issues with the stock silver can if I run it on 18t?
  23. Thanks. I did read about the esc. I should have an extra TBLE02S somewhere and some cheap ebay esc. Both should work fine for the purpose. We might go 4ws with it as well... now I need to order some servos.
  24. I was able to get a 18t and 19t pinion added to my order... what is the stock pinion size that came with the kit?
