  1. Oh dear, that "By the back door" look.
  2. Good work Fried Tyres, i recently built my first Tamiya kit in over 20 years and the first run outside was very satisfying (albeit scary as i didnt want to stack it). I bet that Novafox has a Unimog for company very soon
  3. Basically as the title says, and im talking about 7.2v nicd and nimh batteries. On the model below, is it just the little red light that uses up the remaining power. Has anybody got one and are they worth it? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7-2V-RACING-BATTERY-PACK-BATTERY-PACK-DISCHARGER-MODULE-M155-/370935355780?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item565d785984
  4. Good question, I may be looking for this info very soon also.
  5. Welcome in Joe, good luck with the RX
  6. Good info, thanks gents.
  7. I don't know the answer to the original question, but I love the way you pointed at the visor with the hand from the other Willy driver
  8. In a straight line and assuming the motors are the same are 4wd buggies slower. Im thinking the motor is working at turning 4 wheels so is the power divided?? I really fancied a Neo Fighter but now find myself drawn towards a Neo Scorcher and im wondering would the Scorcher be slower albeit probably better handling? Thanks
  9. Great thread. This is my Redline from about 96 and my Burner from about 84.
  10. I voted for the Fav wheels, they just seem to "fit" better with the whole look. Your detail work on that shell really is second to none. 1st class job.
  11. Congrats, im planning on bagging one of these soon myself
  12. Thanks for all your input on this guys. I guess a difficulty guide would be too subjective as everybody's skillset is different. I will also concede the fact that everybody may chose different designs for their shell and driver, so unless everyone does exact box art then that cant be included. I do now think that a chassis build time guide would actually be a better idea. Again, everyone's skills and speeds are different but maybe we could have a pinned thread at the top of the Build section where a member could just add one very brief line stating which model they have built and how long it took (maybe note any tricky bits?). Each post should NOT be replied to, so it just becomes a reference list/thread.
  13. Cool vids mate, gotta love those slow mo's of the Unimog. I had no idea Tamiya did models with 4 wheel steering.
  14. This finished car looks stunning, love the pic with the lunchie
  15. Thanks for replies guys, painting and gluing could and should be included in the difficulty rating
  16. Thanks Greg, what would be the hardest in your opinion, Im totally guessing but going with a "more expensive, more difficult" theory would it be something like an Egress or Toyota Hilux? Im thinking a rough build time could be added aswell. Something like.. Mad bull - 1 box spanner - 2 hours Hornet - 2 box spanner - 3 hours Grasshopper - 2 box spanner - 3 hours Fav - 4 box spanner - 5 hours Hotshot - ??? - ??? Egress - ??? - ???
  17. I know a lot of you guys might find all Tamiya kits easy so this is probably more for some us noobs. I have built from NIB a Grasshopper and Hornet both of which were many years ago and I seem to remember being quite easy. I have now also built a FAV and to be honest it was a little tricky in places and when you take into account the painting of the driver etc it definitely took longer. I have now also noticed while reading the build threads that some of the 4WD buggys look really complex in the suspension and gearbox, im thinking about the Hotshot. I guess what im suggesting is a list of all the Tamiya R/C kits with a number next to the name to define the difficulty. It could range from 1 as the easiest to 5 or 6 or even 10 as the hardest. Or we could even do it in Haynes manual style and have an amount of a certain symbol (Tamiya box spanner?) next to a model name. Is this worth a go or a bit of a non starter
  18. Enjoyable read. You take a LOT of pics on your build threads, and I mean that in a good way It looks like it really shifts, I like the jump vids
  19. ^^ Next weekend, promise
  20. Just read the whole thread as im thinking about getting one of these. You did a great job, I love the colour, and it looks like it really shifts in that video
  21. ^^^ Cool, thanks for the info
