  1. What an epic build thread, very inspiring
  2. It was an enjoyable build and im very pleased with the end result. The trouble is now, i dont want to get it dirty Thanks for the deal
  3. Interesting points gents, thanks. So if i was to go with something along the lines of the following... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TAMIYA-58587-Neo-Fighter-Set-w-Sender-Servo-DT-03-2WD-Buggy-Kit-1-10-/291129058992?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item43c8a4e6b0 What hop ups would you recommend to incorporate into the build which would save a major strip down later? Thanks
  4. Ive been seriously thinking about adding a modern buggy to my fleet. This model does seem a bit Marmite with some members disliking the exact features that others like. For me I love the long slim body and the nods to the classic Frog. Yes, this ticks all the boxes Im going to go for a RTR model, I think most (or all) seem to come with a torque tuned motor and it will also be my first kit with 2.4 ghz radio gear. There is some great deals on ebay with for all the above for not much more than £100 delivered
  5. Thanks for comments guys I will probably leave it as is, ive no idea idea what colour it was, my old one was red but i think they also came in black. The windows are just blue stickers, i think thats standard. Very cool pic, I did not know these were once an actual military vehicle.
  6. Wow, great build so far, cant wait to see this one finished
  7. I always thought the make of my first R/C was a Nikko. It turns out it was a Shinsei, this probably explains why i could never find one on ebay. Anyway its full title is a Shinsei Mountain Man Chevy Blazer. I got my original model in about 1985 when i bought it of a school friend, he was selling it as he had just got a new Tamiya Subaru Brat (incidentally, this was my first experience with a Tamiya). I kept and played with this car for only a few months till i let a different friend borrow it and he crashed it into a kerb smashing an axle to bits. After this i think it got thrown away and i learnt a lesson about lending out my stuff. So fast forward 30 years and i have just got another Chevy blazer. I actually got a couple of weeks back from ebay at a very reasonable price and it arrived in good order and as described. Its fully working, even the switchable 4wd/2wd system but it is a bit noisy and clonky. it obviously has its share of nicks and scrapes and its been given an army paint job at some time. Its also a bit smaller than i thought i remembered it being. It drives quite well and is quite nippy for indoors. i dont think i will be running this out side as i am going to try and make it last a bit longer than my first one, and i also wont be lending it to any friends
  8. Thought i would add a couple of pics of the finished FAV with its Mud Blaster and Rising fighter cousins
  9. ^^^ I agree, if you have a lot of these parts floating around anyway you have nothing to lose. I think (as you said yourself) when you have those rear shocks sorted it will give you a better indication of where you heading with this. Nice work
  10. All done I am kind of scared to drive it now for fear of it falling to bits Thanks for looking
  11. Thanks Quandry, the funny thing with the cammo paint is that it really wasn't planned. I purchased two different shades of army green and after putting the darker shade on the driver first I just thought what the badword and did random daps of the lighter shade over the top.
  12. I always liked the Bar Honda F1 livery. Your Hotshot looks great, especially on the slick tyres
  13. ^^ Thankyou
  14. Thanks for reply John. Ive noticed there is more than 6 cars on the track at once. Does this mean that everybody uses/has to have 2.4ghz radio gear?
  15. I have my paints, brushes, glue and some free time. Here goes with some first model painting in a very long time. Ive now done all my painting and im actually really pleased with how it turned out. Not perfect by any stretch but good enough for me. You will also see i painted my Rising Fighter driver while i was at it. Just decals and a few final assembly bits left. You will see the finished machine tomorrow
  16. ^^ Nice, thanks for the info
  17. I was just saying in another thread that I fancied a road car next, maybe a Fiat 500, but this Honda City WW has really put the cat amongst the magpies
  18. I like to have at least a one of something. Example, I have a buggy (well 2 actually) and I have a monster truck, now i'm thinking it would be nice to have a road car. Im thinking about a Fiat 500 as I would really like a 1:1 of these.
  19. Ok, so ive got the back axles and all the wheels now and driven it around the carpet Am i supposed to put cable-ties around the rubber tubes that go over the rear dogbones and join the gear box. I cant find that it says to do this in the instructions. Also there seems to be very little travel in the rear suspension (compared to the front anyway) is this normal or have i made a boo boo Next up is all the painting, decals and final assembly.
  20. Can anybody come along, as a spectator ?
  21. MarkTech, im glad you asked this question as I have just been wandering the same thing myself
  22. I did not realise just how big a Clod is
  23. I have just ordered 6 tins of paint, some glue and brushes. All for my FAV Sharkmouth
