Wow, you need a medal for your perseverance in stripping and cleaning, well done. I cant wait for the rebuild to start. With regard to the shell, Kamtec sell some nice looking ones on ebay but don't know if painted etc. Also with the front and rear tyres, it may be cheaper to get a whole set of front and rear tyres AND wheels in one set, even if you don't use the rims. Nice work

Nice work mate, im thinking about making a kind of Scorcher themed bug out of my Rising Fighter. I actually like the brown, very retro and 70's. Btw, was the worrying thing you mentioned a crack in the front arm on the screw mount? -

Looks great mate, your almost there. I didn't realise just how many aluminium parts are this kit, quality. What colour is the body going to be? Box art ?

Here we go again, got a bit more done today I have still not decided what i'm doing colour wise yet, so for now i'm completing the build with the driver in his box till i get some paint and some glue, and pluck up the intestinal fortitude to add some life to him. Ok first thing today is put the roll cage together and add to the chassis... Next up, start the gearbox...not been looking forward to this bit. Most the bits in, greased my teeth, most my tools and the TV remote All together now, that was actually not as bad as i thought it would be. Next, bolt on the fitting bracket and install to the chassis.... And in Starting to take shape now. The build is going ok i think, there is more to it than i remember when building a grasshopper than a hornet 25 odd years ago

I think someone else may have already said this, there needs to be a "likes all" button on some of these TC threads Some truly outstanding work -
If you are using proper bearings (1150) instead of plastic bushes, do you still need to apply the grease as it says in the manual? Both in the gearbox and on the axles? Thanks MJ

Also just to add I saw a pic on google (don't know if im allowed to show it?) of a Neo in original Frog colours and livery. I thought it looked the nuts

Wow what a great selection of bikes, I dont know them all but I certainly remember the TZR as I massively wanted one years ago. None of them look all that old (to a non-biker) but I bet they are all 20ish years old. Are they all 2 stroke machines. -

Cool vid, enjoyed the watch -
Nice haul of stuff you got there, very kind to offer to give away. "Trade for beer" classic

Imo if your going to be running your new car frequently and hard AND your on a budget, I would plump for the Neo Fighter. Maybe save up for a WO after you have the Neo, or look out for a second hand model and make it a project.

Oh yes I never thought of rotating those posts, good idea. Hopefully though with the smaller servo I should now be ok Back to it later, hoping to get the driver and roll cage fitted tonight.

Thanks for those links gents, I shall have a good read this evening

From what I can gather they are just a smaller series of Tamiya cars. But do they come in kit form or are they RTR. Can you use full size radio gear? Ive seen Tamtech sport motors on ebay, I assume this means you can upgrade them, what is the performance like on these as standard? What scale are they? Does anyone have any, and have any pics of Tamtech with there "fullsize" counterparts. Google does not seem to have much info on these models, were/are they available in the UK. Thanks

Ok the next step in the book is fitting the electrics. First step is i have to rob a servo and the receiver from my Mud Blaster. Then rig it all up, make sure it works and set the ESC which is a Tamiya 105bk which came with the kit. It all works, Great. Now the problems started. The servo ive fitted seems to big and is making the steering rods seem to far forward, even though ive moved the ball connectors to the further forward hole on the upright. Ok maybe this is how its supposed to be, but, the next problem. The servo is taking up to much room behind and the esc and receiver dont all fit in the tub very well. So i have checked the steering servo on my Rising Fighter and that has a smaller servo, smaller receiver and the ESC (101bk) seems is a little smaller too. Im sure you can see where this is going. Rising Fighter servo, receiver and ESC are all in and working. You may notice that ive fitted the esc and receiver the opposite way around to it shows in the manuel. Two reasons for this, the first being the aerial wire on the receiver seems a little short so the further back i can mount this the more aerial wire i will have sticking out at the end.The second reason is this is the only way i could sit both parts down flat on the floor due to all the screw post mouldings.
