other forms of money drains

Wow, a superb selection vehicles there Woodstock. I love that red cabby, is it an RS or an xr3i? And the blue 4 door also looks very clean. I don't know much about older classics, but I agree that the Sunbeam will eat your wallet alive -
Thanks for all the comments guys. The thing is with the paint, I really cant decide on what colours its going to be just yet. Plus, and this is quite a big plus, I don't own a single paint pot, brush, anything, and I really cant afford to spend any more money just yet. I'm not waiting till "just yet" to get on with the build

other forms of money drains

Well i built a new shed some years back and wanted something a bit different for my music, something i couldnt afford in my youth. I searched ebay etc got one i liked, then saw one i liked more and got that, then, well, you know how these things escalate Omg ive had my fair share of nails and sheds before i worked my way up/down to the 28 year old ford money pit to be fair its actually pretty good -
Im sure some of will have seen me procrastinating recently about whether to buy a FAV or a Wild One or even a Kyosho Sandmaster. I eventually plumped for FAV due to it giving me the options of upgrading to WO specs later if i wish, and also a NIB kit coming up for sale local to me. The Sandmaster is still something i would like to try, maybe later in the year. Two points before i start: 1, nothing is painted yet as still have not decided on civilian or military. 2, this is my first new build for at least 25 years (ive had more rc since but second hand), and also my first ever build thread, so be gentle with me First sub assemblies built. First bits onto the chassis. Add on my subs (im about 2 hours in by this point ). And upside down. Adding the spotlights And heres now where im up to. Im thinking the the rubber bits in the shocks should be cut down although it didnt mention this in the instructions. Hopefully more tomorrow

Nice car, i dont know what box art is for this model but yours certainly looks great in the black. This made me laugh out loud.

My reply's may be fairly predictable for a bit of a noob but the Tamiya and Marui are certainly cars i wanted in my school days, the Kyosho is a much more recent want but vintage all the same. Tamiya Sand Scorcher Marui Big Bear Kyosho Scorpion I dont know much about the other brands.

Wow that build had a lot of screws, never seen so many. It looked great when finished, the red on the Civic body worked for me. Did you say stolen out your car, that's not good at all. Keep an eye on ebay, you never know, it may appear there.

I will be making an order in the new year. The prices are so cheap compared to the UK its worth the rolling the dice imo. Besides EMS is fully insured and I think I will also pay with paypal.

Noted and Noted, Thanks

Very nice pics, thanks one and all. After reading on this site about a company called Banzai Hobby, I checked out their deals. I can get a Fav or WO delivered at very good prices even with some dreaded import vat added along the way it still seems a good deal. The thing is they are closed until the 5th of Jan and then may well have a backlog of orders. I think I may have to offload my Mud blaster first anyway to free up some funds

Good work, I like the SV best. -
That's nice Steve, but here is where it gets even more complex. If you plump for a FAV, which design?? Arrgh my head hurts

Welcome MPC, im pretty new here myself, but it is nice

That really is a beauty Mike. And its funny you should bring Kyosho in to equation because the 3rd option I keep coming back to is the Sandmaster. Being A, a total amateur driver/basher, and B, on a budget, the SM does seem appealing as you can get some really competitively priced whole kits inc 2.4 ghz radio gear (which ive never used) for not much more than £100.

I've just ordered new wheels, tyres and a bearing set for my Rising Fighter. This thing is going to end up costing more than if I had just bought a new a kit
