  1. Hi,

I've just add a new set of wheels to my collection :D

I wanted wheels that can also be found on real VW bugs. I've found Fuchs wheels from the Porsche RSR made by HPI.

I've used a set of wheel adapters for the rear and modified the front wheels.

I've cut the wheel and mixed it with an original Rough Rider wheel.

    Hope you like it. :)

I've created a Facebook page named "Steed Customs" about my Sand Scorcher. :D

Have a look, like and share! :)

  2. Hi,

Thank you very much for your kind comments. ;)

The letters on the tyres are home made. I've used the picture below. With photoshop, I've removed everything except the letters. I've printed them on waterslide decal paper and then put some clear paint on it.

    And the result

Regarding the wheels, it's just 3D printed covers fitted on the original Rough Rider wheels (1,7"). These covers are made by Knight Customs and can be bought here: http://www.shapeways.com/model/1104982/srb-5-lug-wheel-insert-1-insert-only.html?li=shop-results&materialId=62

  3. Now it's the third body. I've just finished it. During my childhood, I really liked the Disney films with Herbie. That's the look I've chosen for this last body. I've added a few details found on the real Herbie.

    Inner arches (again :P )

Paint code is the original Volkswagen Pearl white, used on Herbie.

Here is my third wheels and tyres set. The wheel centres are from Knight Custom. Stripes are painted, they're not decals.

I've added the external fuel cap on the passenger's side, as fitted on Herbie in "Herbie goes to Monte Carlo". ;)

And now, a picture of the family :P

  4. Hello,

I'm new here and I own an original Sand Scorcher.

A few months ago, I've restored it to box art specs. I've also made two more re-re Sand Scorcher bodies.

How it was when I bought it on ebay

As the body has "Bilstein" decals, I've made Bilstein shocks. :P

    Drive trains are painted black

A scale motor kit from Knight Custom is added on the rear

    I've also welded "scale" bumpers...
