  1. I do want a rear wheel drive car to counter the existing M05 I just got, this one is in 210mm wheelbase with the Honda S800 shell which drew me to it in the first place. Being so small I think the Nimh power suits it pretty well and keeps it on scale, I think the 2s lipo will be marginally quicker but give better run times but so far it’s not an issue Can you point me to some decent oil shocks for the M05 please, the last time I was in to RC there was lots of different CVA’s to choose? Here’s my M05.
  2. Glad I came across this topic while looking at which new M Chassis to buy out of these 3: M-05 Citroen 2CV Charleston (239mm) M05-Ra Citroen 2CV Rally (239mm) M06 Karmann kit (239mm). When bought NIB do they all come with adjustable wheelbases from 210, 225 and 239mm? I like the look of all 3 of these body styles, I and will only drive it on a smooth tarmac surface, which would you recommend for an easy build? ( I’m secretly hoping for some love for the M-06 as I already have a newly bought 2nd hand M-05 in 210mm guise)
  3. You are a trooper, certainly looks appropriate, I’d have taken a while to stumble across that by myself so thank you very much!
  4. Hi all, sorry if this post is placed wrongly here but I’m a bit rusty on the forum and Tamiya restoring in general 🥲 I need to buy a servo saver for my newly acquired Bear Hawk, I found the diagram and I’d say I need these B4 through B8 parts to match my chosen 25t splined servo. Can these B be bought on their own rather than buying a whole B parts tree?
  5. Thank you pal I’ve ordered this 880 now and they even solder battery connectors which saves me getting into that for now 😂 I’ll read that thread with interest, paying close attention to your contributions… oh, no, wait! 👍 I’ve managed the last 4 years with my dwindling collection of 5-6 shelf queens not being touched and the odd run out with my Lunchbox, Team Associsted Rat Rod SC and a 2WD brushed Stampede… I was quite happy… didn’t think about the 40 Tamiyas I’d sold off…… or so I thought! I knew I should’ve stayed away from this forum look how it’s hooked me back in 🤦‍♂️🔥
  6. These two beauties came a couple days ago, reliving my yoof here with my two first ever Tamiya’s! The Bear Hawk needs some steering bits and full electrics, the Wid Dagger just needs electrics. I’ll be back on this thread again as I’ve just today bought a used M05 too 🤦‍♂️
  7. Yes totally agree with you in hindsight… I was harking back to my days when she brought me back tons of Traxxas hop ups which were much much cheaper than in the UK at that time… conversion rate has plummeted since a few years ago 😂 The video chat was put to her and not received well… I give up! Thread dead from me, I’ll have to settle for some Hershy’s chocolate which probably isn’t as nice as the Cadburys stuff we already have over here! Thanks all for the responses, good lads 🏆
  8. Looking to get an M chassis car back in my stable, not fussed if they are FWD or RWD, ideally a roller (with or without a shell) but must be in tact with things like servo mounts and servo saver included as I don’t fancy trawling the web researching missing parts 😂 I just want to add electrics ( but if steering servos included they are most welcomed) UK based thanks in advance.
  9. Ahh that rings a big bell! just searching is this 880 a replacement for the Quicrun 860 as the 880 is much more readily available? Are they plug n play once some battery connectors are soldered on?
  10. That must be a beauty hiding in storage, 15 runs was a pretty good effort though well done 👍 thanks pal I’m now looking into dual motor ESC’s, seems years ago my old Clod had a Quicrun 860 pushing silver cans along so I’ll hunt that out now.
  11. Anyone got servo mounts, servo saver and a front steering link with ball cup holder for a Bear Hawk? not sure of the names but you can see the missing pieces here, the 70mm rod ( I got the 89mm one) and the white end connector is missing. UK please, trying to get this Bear Hawk running again
  12. I’ve just bought a childhood favourite of mine after 25 years from last owning a Wild Dagger, I loved this as one of my first RC trucks! Could I please get some advice on a good twin motor ESC I can run this twin motor chassis on please? Its come to me fitted with only a servo, which looks like it’s connected to a fully complete steering system which is a bonus and I can leave that alone for now. What’s is a decent ESC to run for these twin motors please? I’ll be leaving the two silver can motors in place and I’ll plan to run my 2s lipo batteries as I still have a few of those still working. I’ve got a NIB 2.4ghz radio somewhere so it’s just an ESC for the electrics? One other issue is it sits pretty low and the friction shocks sag under the weight of the truck, these measure 70mm eye to eye but when these are removed the drop from the mourning holes is 75mm - 77mm, would some cheap 75mm oil shocks be a better option to keep it lifted up for off road clearance? Some photos for attention, I’m stoked to get this running again 🥳
  13. Did I sell this shell to anyone on here? is it still knocking around?
  14. Thanks for all the replies it gives me a realistic idea of what to try and obtain… just have to convince er indoors now 🕺
  15. Just musing this idea as I recall there was always the odd part that was either much cheaper or just more easily available in the US compared to the UK…. so with my wife jetting off to LA shortky for a weeks work it got me wondering what should I buy?! I did this a few years ago when I was heavily into Traxxas and I got a good haul of hop up parts then, but now I’m back on the Tamiya wagon I want your ideas please? I’m toying with either a whole kit or even something non -Tamiya? Or something else, I just don’t want to miss a trick, if a trick even exists? ideas on a postcard please back to this thread Note - items have to fit into a suitcase, you get the idea.
  16. Selling my original Sonic Fighter with Box. box art this one in pretty good shape, box is tatty but presentable. she’s only missing the steering saver to hold the two steering links in place so right now the front wheels flip about a bit. some paint has chipped off by the body post pins as this can happen quite easily, and some minor marks on the underside front bumper and gearbox shows this has had minor use before.” this has been hidden in a box for 4 years so time for a new owner. Please message me for more photos UK buyers only. £350 inc postage.
  17. Got a slightly different version of a Sonic Fighter for sale that I bought a few years back and had as a shelf queen ever since. She’s in pretty good shape with lots of new parts and has all the steering components in place, to get her running she’d only need electrics. UK buyers only please. £280 including postage.
  18. We’ll back in the day when I was doing these speed runs I was using a stand alone GPS unit for about £40 from SkyRC… it did a great job and was only the size of a matchbox so could be Velcro’s on most body parts or shell somewhere. Exit : they’ve gone up in price ! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/134459247938?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&toolid=10050&campid=MERCHANT_PARTNER_ID&customid=CjwKCAjw5MOlBhBTEiwAAJ8e1uaWDKWRhsljTO8FuwSCTAxGiSOzMENB88xX0wiS_6548_gu4qDK2RoCEhwQAvD_BwE&amdata=enc%3A1RLMb8AZlRU6HLdHSO1xcHg25
  19. Hello Mr Grastens, good to see you are still at it with these beautiful Strikers and Sonic Fighters… it was primarily you who got me into these darned things! I’ve still got 2 Strikers and 3 x Sonic Fighters in my collection along with a TT01, Lunchbox, Clod Buster, Team Associated RatRod Short Course thingy and a Traxxas 2WD Stampede. Now I want a DT03 themed BIG Striker! Off to read this thread of yours now.
  20. You guys have done great keeping this going, top job all round.. you can all sue me for the catalogue of broken parts caused entering this… form an orderly queue 🥳 Great to see some old friends still here and even nicer to see newer members have got into the spirit of things too.. although the last entry was 8 months ago I might need to revive things with one of my few remaining Tamiya’s. I might be on the hunt for a new Tamiya RC with some nostalgia so I hope to be around for the foreseeable future, my 7 year old daughter eats my time up ferrying her to umpteen dance classes but I still love my RC’s and miss my collection of 50 odd Tamiyas I had before reducing it down to about 6 now 👀 Carry on chaps and happy speeding.
  21. You’re on the slippery slope pal cheers 🏆
  22. Guilty as charged, gosh I’d forgotten thst BuggyRa, awesome looking shell, cheers mate 😎
  23. I re-joined this forum after about a 3-4 year break… hello to anyone who remembers me from back in the day!
