  1. the tt-02b neo scorcher buggy is great on road, the kit springs it comes with are better for on road use than off road!, although there probably good on a decent track aswell. just needs the right tyres for road use. I hadn't actually thought about it until now, but the tt-02b is the car I use the most regardless of if its on road or offroad!
  2. when xv-01 says dt02 metal diffs that's just a typo he means df-02, you can get the df-02 parts bag A and the plastic diff cases from the df-02. The parts bag comes with other usefull bits, these diffs are what I use in my tt-02 and tt-02b. The bevel gear from the df-02 fits aswell and Is in the parts bag, just needs some filing down to match the plastic one.
  3. I already tried this with my tt-02, took the wheels off my unimog and trimmed a pretty wrecked Subaru xv shell to have bigger wheel arches, it worked really well, but needed the tub cut back a little to get full steering lock.
  4. I keep forgetting the shocks as I never ran it with the stock oscillators and went straight to oil dampers lol.
  5. I have a tt-02, being budget orientated it has one advantage, that of not being afraid to use and abuse it!. I don't invest to much in this chassis as if fine tuning and ultimate capability are the goal then this is probably not the chassis. However it drives very nicely as is, and the hop ups I have done are the bearings, and front cvd's as when it takes a knock at the front I've got fed up of it spitting out the dogbones, and I've gone for aluminium front hubs to replace the broken plastic ones. It is cheap to replace parts though. And its got some flexibility, you can do a reasonable rally setup with it aswell. And if like me you own a tt-02b, you can get a lot of value out of upgrading the drivetrain with aluminium shaft, high speed gear set and adjustable engine mount etc. It takes me 10 mins to swap the entire drivetrain including motor, and the steering setup from one chassis to the other depending on what I feel like driving that day.
  6. I stripped the teeth on the ring gear on the stock rear diff running on just tarmac, that was with a castle 5700kv motor, I just thought I'd see how long it lasted, I usually run df-02 diffs and bevel gears. The stock diff lasted almost one 4000mah 2s lipo lol.
  7. for a while I used a trackstar 13.5t brushless sensored motor with a tble-02s in my dt-03, I did have some problems with it overheating a lot, that was during last summer and with a little work on getting some airflow i'm sure it could be cured. It was however a really sweet setup to drive and suited the chassis perfectly for running on loose surfaces.
  8. I have both neo fighter and neo scorcher, I don't remember one being clearly faster than the other with the out of the box setup and motor, the neo fighter is the most fun with something like a 13.5t brushless in it on dirt, but for the high speed high power motor stuff the neo scorcher is far more capable. Both can be very fast but the gearing options on the dt-03 are far more limited, you have to start modifying the gearbox to fit larger pinions, I think I went up to a 23 or 25t pinion but the gearbox needed a lot of rework to do that, there is a lot of pretty straightforward options for gearing the tt-02b though. Plus as mentioned already the 4wd means is a huge benefit under braking, which becomes increasingly important as the speed go's up!
  9. do any of you use an additional lipo cutoff? I have a few tble-02s esc's that I'd like to run with lipo, but I believe they don't have a lipo cutoff so wondering if a lipo cutoff is worth the money?
  10. Hi, bought this to go on one of my M chassis cars but have changed my mind about it and going a different route, its new in the packet and unopened. £20 + postage.
  11. other than bearings to replace the bushings, I wouldn't say there was anything that's needed for the dt-03. I remember between bearings and universal shafts though that helped with the performance nicely. Turnbuckles are nice though, and also depending on where your running I found the front tyres quite poor and got some mini spikes for running off road which was a big improvement.
  12. lol yeah it should buff out!. I think I might have got quite lucky, its was pretty much head on so the impact was spread between the front bumper and the tyres, and the U shaped pin seems to have taken the brunt of it, I might just get away with replacing those parts, everything else seems ok but Its difficult to tell if one of the arms will need replaced until I put it back together. That's the second one of those U shaped pins I've ended up replacing, similar incident. It is the same part as the dt-03 uses up front which is handy for picking up spares. I don't know how the prop shaft ended up so bent though! Its a bit like reading tea leaves at the bottom of the cup though, the pile of broken parts, and the misshapen curves of the propshaft are telling me they need replaced and tried again with a 3s lipo instead this time
  13. Modified my tt-02b a bit today, although not intentionally lol, gps clocked it at 48mph shortly before something somewhere got loose or had been bent and the battery connector was broken, cutting brakes and it encountered a kerb at considerable speed. More parts needed!. These were straight before I started lol.
  14. Hey thanks, I dont know about best performing, I'd like to try a db-01 myself at some point and see how it compares, but i really like my tt-02b, its a buggy i really dont mind pushing to the limit and beyond, its cheap and easy to fix, simple and robust. Mines running a brushless 5700kv motor on 2s lipo. It has needed a few tweaks in order to get it to cope with the power, but because of the price point and ease and availablity of spares its part of the fun, and theres plenty hop up parts to keep upgrading. It also looks great!. It doesnt have a hug amount of ground clearance so when running onroad and on loose but reasonably level ground it performs really well, but offroad its can depending on uneven surfaces, struggle, but there is ways round that, I have a couple vids that compare before and after mods to get it working well off road. So yeah i see it as an inexpensive but capable and modable platform that wont get upset about if i damage something when using it.
  15. thanks Its a hastily modified 3racing wing. http://os.3racing.hk/products.php?products_key=2725
  16. Fiddled with mine a bit today, trying out some gearing options. Still some ice today but I couldn't wait lol.
  17. Hi, i'm up in inverness Scotland, my order was around £40-45 I cant remember what the exchange rate was at the time, shipping is quite expensive though I paid for shipping EMS which was £17 but I was impatient at the time as the buggy was out of action as a pin from the universal shaft had carved one of the rear hubs just about in half lol, and I knew from past experience EMS is reliable and fast, so was less than a week to arrive, no import fees, I do seem to remember they have slower but cheaper options. I guess the extra shipping price balances out though as the parts themselves are reasonably priced for aluminium parts, and the quality is superb.
  18. got the alu c hubs and knuckles, all from broadtech, I seem to remember having to try different searches till I saw all the items on their site, like tt02b instead of tt-02b etc, or just tt02. If you get some definitely thread lock the screws for the c hubs, I stupidly didn't and have lost one of the collars as a result , the castle motor is quite hard on the car! they are very nice parts though, I will be ordering more, probably the rear hubs for some more toe in.
  19. one for the dt-03 neo fighter fans! neo scorcher tt02b nipping along. Tyre balloon on the tt02b!
  20. www.Broadtech.hk is the place to get the eagle stuff, they have heaps for the tt-02b, I got the hubs, and the carbon shock towers. Also have the yeah racing engine mount which is essential if you run the high speed spur gear set so you can use any spur gear. Couple pics of my neo scorcher, great little buggy!.
  21. I've had good success using the metal bevel gear with the rear diff, the plastic one wont last with decent power, I have a 5700kv castle creations motor in it. Also the Tamiya universals in the rear eventually threw there pins out, I've replaced them with eagle universals and those are up to the task!. I stuck with the plastic bevel gears up front, they do eventually wear out but I've broken a few teeth on the metal one under braking so don't use them there anymore.
