  1. Good luck with your surveillance.
  2. Took my boy racing yesterday. He asked to run the TRF 211 instead of his usual TLR 10SCT. He ran it quite well. Better than I do TBH. One of the other racers drover over top him (Beginner is a mixed class and he was the only buggy.) and crushed him into the pipe/wall. The lower shock mount and both front suspension arms took the brunt of the hit(s). He was able to limp across the finish line avoiding a DNF that qualifier. He earned TQ and won his main. Comparing his lap times to the 17.5T B-main, he would have been in a tight battle with the bottom two racers so we're going to move him up from beginner class to 17.5 proper. Not half bad for just turned 11, eh?
  3. I can't tell you how many of those front axles I went through on my re-re Frog before I shelved it for good. The word on the street is to find some NOS parts. March 2015: April 2015:
  4. I went through the pics on an old phone today and stumbled across this gem of a shot:
  5. I like to put the Tiger sauce on my eggs but it also goes nicely on grilled white fish or pork. I hope you like it!
  6. He's doing gang busters. Better than me for sure.
  7. Went racing with my boy yesterday. We ran our SCTs; he in beginner class and me in SCT class. He qualified 3rd and placed 3rd in the main. He was outrun by two 2WD buggies. I don't think they had better pilots. The turf track has a VERY tight, technical layout. I think the heavier 4WD SCTs are somewhat at a disadvantage, especially through the chicane in the middle of the track. He's asked if he can run my TRF 211 from now on. I'm going to let him, at least through summer. If he decides that he wants to move on from 4WD SCT to 2WD buggy, I'll get him his own. A least, for now, he can run mine.
  8. Nobbi, For a basher these look like decent choices that won't cost you an arm and a leg: Absima S90MH £14.33 Alturn AAS750MG £17.99 Savox SH0252 £22.49 Savox SW0231MG Waterproof £30.59 I have the SW0231MG in a few of my SCT bashers and they are tank servos! They take a real beating and have the advantage of weatherproofing. If you didn't want to spend quite that much then I think the Alturn is the best 2nd choice. It has 80% of the torque but is 30% faster than the 231MG. Of course, you pay a bit more for the weatherproofing. Neither is a race servo but both will serve in your monster DT-03 quite well I think.
  9. His experience mirrors my own. The Torque Tuned motor was a much better match for my Fury than the stock 15T. It's been bullet proof and returns longer runtimes. I thill think that the GT Tuned or the 21.5T brushless are your best bets in the M05.
  10. Or, you could go brushless and get a Speed Passion 21.5T V3.0 MMM motor for about the same amount of money. It's also well within the range of the TBLE-02S and is a wonderful motor. I think it would be a perfect match for the M05 chassis.
  11. If you're looking for an interesting brushed motor for your NSU TT, have you considered the GT Tuned motor? It's within the operational range of the TBLE-02S. They're $20 from RC Mart.
  12. I have both. The Arrma motor is a high RPM motor that is outside the range of the TBLE-02S ESC. It will generate a fair amount of heat and IMHO would overpower the M05 chassis (but I've never run an M05 so what do I know?) It also incorporates some "cooling fins" inside the end bell which do generate sound. The reason I have an Arrma 15T is that the one that came with my Fury burned up within 3 battery packs. This one is the warranty replacement (which I never used). Here's a pic of the two motors flanked by the Sport Tuned I plan on running in my own NSU TT and the Axial 17T motor that I pulled new from my son's Deadbolt when I installed at 45T motor. The Axial and Arrma motors are equipped with the same fan. In fact, after careful inspection, I would bet $$ that other than the armature they are identical.
  13. I few months back I swapped out the 13.5T motor in my TT-02 Suzuki SX4 rally because I felt it was overpowered. I picked up a 21.5T Trinity D3.5 motor off a deal I found on eBay. Yes, the off angle blue wire drives me batty but the wire isn't long enough to solder on in the same direction as the other 2. I got to run it about today at lunch and I think 21.5T is just about perfect!
  14. It helps the driver tips pull out of the hex head screws. I took the lead from my TRF hex drivers. See, the gold tips are fluorine coated.
  15. I fluorine coated the tips of a new hex driver set. I swapped out the hop-up steel spur gear for the stock composite spur gear on my Tekno SCT racer. Steel is nice and durable but the trade-off of added weight and noise isn't worth it to me right now. I race on carpet so the durability isn't an issue. No pebbles or chunks of hard clay are going to find their way into my drivetrain anytime soon. I will build up a 2nd diff with thinner oil and the steel spur in case I ever get a wild hair and think to try my hand on the big track (which is clay).
  16. SOLD If you're looking for a new SCT and wanted something that's been thoroughly gone over with a fine tooth comb, look no further. The link to the eBay page with all the details and more pics. https://www.ebay.com/itm/163042187292?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
  17. Always happy to help others spend money! I really like that body. I wonder if it'll fit on an Arrma...
  18. You could just get these: https://xxxmain.com/collections/paint-masks/products/large-checkers-paint-mask-kit
  19. Did you ever see the movie: 40 Year Old Virgin? He did the same sort of thing, only with action figures. Think very carefully about your priorities man. Do not be the star of 40 Year Old Virgin Part 2!
  20. I've been wrenching on a bitsa Arrma Fury SCT. I filled the diff with A/W grease, replaced any sticky bearings (the factory ones can be a bit junky), used a Hobby Wing 1060 ESC and I converted it over to Dean's plug. I used an Atomik Fireball 21T motor because the Arrma 15T isn't the most reliable ever. I'm considering swapping out the rubbery plastic steering arms and rear camber links with steel. I have 2 new Arrma SCT bodies but neither have body mount holes that line up! So I picked up a pre-painted Monster "mud splash" SCT body off Amazon. I plan to spray the inside with rubberized undercoat to reinforce it for bashing durability. Oh, I also had to get a new transmitter. I had a spare Fly Sky receiver so I ordered up a GT3 transmitter to round off the package. I'll post some pics once it's done. I'm still waiting for the body and transmitter.
  21. FWIW the i3 Red has throttle and steering EPA, uses 4 AA batteries and has an optional LiPo battery available. Did I mention that it looks nice too? I tried to take a picture of mine but it's too dark to get a decent shutter speed and the flash ruins the shot so here's a stock image from Amazon: And one of the battery compartment from RCTech
  22. I've used the FlySky gear and it's ok. Build quality is a bit, umm, amateurish I guess. The i3 Red is quite sharp looking Personally, though I prefer the Tactic TTX300 transmitter when I'm looking for a low-cost transmitter. I think the build quality - fit and finish of the Tactic are much better than the FlySky stuff.
  23. I ordered up a Neo Scorcher sticker set from Tony's Tamiya Parts. I didn't realize those things had been discontinued! My daughter doesn't drive her TT-02B so I'm going to turn it into a shelf queen. The new body I ordered (a new replacement pink special body simply can't be found) arrived sans decal sheet. Delivery estimate claims April 9th. From the UK to TX, US? That's some pretty fast postal speed. We'll see if that turns out to be accurate.
