This is the battery I use in my Sand Scorcher. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__34366__Turnigy_nano_tech_Shorty_4200mah_2S2P_65_130C_Hardcase_Lipo_Pack_ROAR_APPROVED_UK_Warehouse_.html

I want to thank you guys for the brilliant advice, as usual on this great forum everyone is very helpful and novices like me don't get flamed for not knowing things. Because of the good advice I got here a motor that I was going to bin is now making the Super Hotshot fly around the garden once again, after being told it was probably sand causing the problem I took the motor to work with me today and I used the air blower in my cab and gave the motor a good blasting, I brought it back home connected it to the SH and it burst into life. So again thank you.

The motor definitely doesn't smell burnt when it happened it wasn't even warn, the esc was cool as well. Something you've said could make sense as I was on the beach at the time, I've had a look on YouTube to see if I can find and videos of stripping down the motor but I can't find anything, do you have any links or diagrams showing how to strip the gt motor? I have brought the motor to work with me today and I have a air blower in my cab so I've been blowing it out with that, will that help?
-
Things is when it shut down the esc or motor were not even hot, because at first I thought the car had gone into thermal shut down, but I could touch both esc and motor with no problems at all.
-
I'm not sure what happened the car kept stopping and eventually it just stopped I've connected the esc to my Sand Scorcher and Neo Scorcher motors and it drives both of them, but when I connect the gt motor to the other cars theirs nothing .

I've taken the Super Hotshot out for only the second time today and the standard gt tuned motor that came with the kit has packed up. Any suggestions as to what brushed motor I should get to replace it? I've been looking and I've seen a 15t HPI Firebolt, would that be any good? Will it give the car a bit of get up and go? The gt tuned motor is 27t and that is 15t so I assume that it would be a lot quicker?

They look like the wheels from my TL01 Subaru Impreza but with off road tyres on them.
-
I had it in my Sand Scorcher for a while but it was undriveable, not the 120A the 80A esc.

I've just purchased and almost built a Super Hotshot anyway in a moment of complete stupidity I fitted a Hobbywing 1060 esc and on my second test run put the battery wires the wrong way around and killed it doh. Anyway I've ordered a new one and it's on its way from Hong Kong, but I have this lying around and wondered if it would be ok in the Super Hotshot or if it will rip the diffs out. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__42936__Turnigy_TrackStar_Waterproof_1_10_Brushless_Power_System_4250KV_80A_UK_Warehouse_.html http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__77163__HobbyKing_174_8482_X_Car_Beast_Series_ESC_1_10_Scale_PRO_120A_UK_Warehouse_.html The esc in the combo died so it would be the 120A X Car Beast esc with the 4250kv motor.

I'm going to be boring and paint it box art. Unless there are any pics to make me change my mind.
-
I have also had problems, I keep getting a message saying I've won a competition it then takes me to other websites, eventually I have to shut the tab down and start again.
-
What colour should I paint it? Should I stick to box art, silver? I was thinking silver, white or maybe metallic red?
-
I know that I've made the right choice, I was toying with the idea of a scaler/ crawler but I'd have to buy extra stuff, also with the money I'd have spent on a crawler I could buy this and a Blackfoot and still have some change. This kit was £189 delivered.
-
After asking for loads of advice on which car, which controller I finally made a decision and here it is. Now I cannot wait to build it.
-
Can anyone point me in the right direction, I've just bought a Re re super hotshot and I was wondering what steel pinion to get, anyone got any links as I'm not sure what size and pitch in need. I do know it comes with a 13t and a 15t but I'm sure I read somewhere that they don't last long.

I think I may have just figured something out if it's mode 1 the throttle is the right stick and mode 2 the left stick? So does anyone know if the Hobbyking radios spring back to the neutral position or will it need modifying, also is it the left stick that is used to change gear (so it acts like a 6 speed gearbox box) what I mean by that is that on my Etronix you can only move the left stick up and down in the centre, but with that one can you move the left stick right to left and up and down creating 3 forward and 3 reverse, I hope that makes sense. I've never had a crawler type rc and I'm considering getting one but I want to know how much more i am going to have to shell out to get it running or should I just knock that idea on the head and get the Super Hotshot I want instead.

I have been looking at all of them, Hobbyking have a cheap 6 channel controller as well. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__69508__Hobby_King_2_4Ghz_6Ch_Tx_Rx_V2_Mode_2_UK_Warehouse_.html http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__66392__Turnigy_TGY_i6_AFHDS_Transmitter_and_6CH_Receiver_Mode_2_UK_Warehouse_.html Also what is the difference between mode 1 and 2? Sorry for being such a newbie.

I've been looking on eBay at the Futaba radios and they all look as if the left stick is stuck in the downward position? Surely the car will just keep reversing?
-
Can anyone recommend a cheap TX and RX that can be used with a 3 speed tamiya kit, I am no good with the wheel type controllers I only use stick type.
-
Thanks guys I think I will get it from Modelsport, peace of mind and quickness of delivery. As usual on this forum very helpful and friendly advice .

So it looks like the Hobbywing gets the thumbs up. My next question is I have found some on eBay they say UK Stockbury are a lot cheaper than everyone else how do I find out if they are fakes or should I play it safe and buy it from Modelsport? Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262357257410 There are a few of them listed at the same price by different sellers but all saying they are from Gosport.

Is a Hobbywing 1060 brushed esc better than the Tamiya TBLE-02 (using it with a brushed motor)? Are there any other decent brushed esc's on the market?
-
My 6yo daughter has a Pink Neo Scorcher and she thinks it's the bee's knees, she loves driving it and the kit was fairly cheap. Obviously don't get your boy a Pink one I don't think you'd be very popular.
-
If your going to Exeter take the Sand Scorcher and go to Dawlish Warren there is an awesome place to bash near the beach shops, my in laws used to live down there.

Are those wheel the same as a Lunchbox?
