I'm not sure it's right either one person in the q and a section said yes and one said no, so I asked one of hobbyking tech staff and they said yes it is compatible I've got the transcript of the conversation so if it's wrong I'll be letting them know. Also can you fit 4wd to a Scorcher?😂😂😂
-
At first I was rebinding the car as per the instructions but then I found that if I unplugged the battery and plugged it back in it would reconnect itself, but that's when it would start running away constantly and the RX would keep shutting down. But if the battery was low on charge wouldn't the LiPo alarm go off?
-
Is this what your talking about? How do you use it?http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__29659__Turnigy_TrackStar_ESC_Programing_Card_UK_Warehouse_.html The scorcher is savage enough with the tamiya esc and standard can, best order a new shell and chassis then 😁😁😁.

Ah I see what you are saying, I have ordered another brushless esc and motor combo because I wanted to put one in the Scorcher anyway, so it should be here in a couple of days so I'll fit it in and give it a try.https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=42936

The reason I think it's the esc is because that's what is powering the rx and my thought was that when it gets hot and shuts down it shuts down the power to the rx and that's why it loses it's bind.

Would this be any good for my Tamiya Sand Scorcher? https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=42936 I'm using a Turnigy nanotech shorty battery. https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=34366 Would I still need to use a lipo alarm with this or will it cut out automatically? Also could I do away with the ubec for the rx?

A bit of an update I took the car to Antics where I got the tx and rx from drove it around the shop for a while and nothing no problems with the car at all. I was just about to leave with my tail between my legs and I said I'll have one more go luckily I did as it shot across the shop into the rifle stand and unbinded. The manager then decided that the rx was faulty and swapped it over, took it home, that evening took it to Longwell Green BMX track for a bash and perfect the best it's ever run then about 25 mins in and disaster it ran away for a second and unbinded, I packed up and headed home. Today I charged the battery again and headed back to the BMX track for another bash and again the car ran like a dream, again after about 25 mins the car this time didn't run away but did stop and unbind. I'm sort of thinking that maybe the ESC is getting hot as it is in the plastic casing with no ventilation and shutting down?

That would be perfect if you could let me know I'll have another go in the meantime. -
Sand Scorcher/ Buggy Champ ball differential.

I used the ball diff grease that came with the kit. -
Has anyone fitted a 84113 differential set into their SRB? I don't know if I am being really stupid but I've built it exactly to the instructions and fitted it into the car. When I built it my first thought was which shaft gives drive because the drive train gear has bearings with a plate either side, so if you hold the shafts you can turn the main gear freely, I fitted it into the car because it says that you can adjust it in place but when I adjusted it up tight it still gives me no drive at all. I hope I've explained it.

Yes I'm afraid racing is in the family my brother was a pro motocross rider and he's following in his footsteps.
-
He only 7 and he keeps saying if he wins he gets to keep the Scorcher and if I win I keep the Flux lol.
-
Thanks for that, the only reason I have bought it is because the Scorcher if I took it to the local bmx track I would come back with 100 different pieces and be absolutely devistated, my nephew has a hpi trophy buggy flux and he keeps on at me to race with him which I wouldn't dare do with the Scorcher. The Basher is going to be exactly that, I can take it to the bmx track with my nephew and if it ski's off the first triple on its roof I'm not going to lose any sleep, I have got a TL01 chassis with Subaru body that I've never run, in time I'm going to get that running with some rally wheels and brushless motor. Sadly the Sand Scorcher is too precious to me to destroy so it will probably only get beach outings.

Any reason why?

I must say even though I'm not too clued up on it, I my gut feeling was that the rx was faulty, because it seems to have two faults that are different but both point to the rx. I just wanted to be sure before I take it back to Antics that the esc wasn't getting upset because it had a 7.4v LiPo powering it. Also I'll stick a multimeter on the ubec just to check the output voltage.
-
From what I recall it did steer as it did a doughnut. What is confusing me is the esc beeping as if the rx had shut down and no green light on the rx until I switch the car power switch off then on again, I didn't have to bind them but I did after about the third time of it happening.
-
Before I fitted this I was told to fit a ubec in the power cable between the esc and receiver which I have done to drop the volts to max 5.5v

I bought a new 2.4 ghz transmitter and receiver a couple of weeks ago, I finally got around to fitting it and last weekend took it for a bit of a spin, Anyway all was well the car was going nicely but the grass was a bit long and the esc got a little warm and the car shut down. I let the car cool down then just stuck to the tarmac and all was well. The next day I decided that the beach was the place to go, at first all was still well then a couple of doughnuts later the Scorcher just shut down again, this time not because the esc had overheated it was hardly warm but it was beeping as if the tx and rx had unbinded themselves. I switched the car off and back on again and the rx came back to life so off I went again same thing a couple of doughnuts and it shut down again repeated process but this time when I accelerated away and let the power off the car kept going for a few seconds before slowing down. I packed up a came home, last night I had a check around the car for loose wiring and decided to try again with the car on the bench everything was perfect, I took it into the street accelerated and the same thing happened again the car ran away for a few seconds. My Transmitter is a Etronix et1100, Reciever Etronix et1155 and esc is Tamiya TEU-104BK.

After building the Sand Scorcher I was looking for something else to play with, so I bought one of these, I'm thinking the Scorcher is going to be a shelf queen with occasional use and this is for bashing. What are your thoughts? http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__65386__Basher_BSR_1_8_Scale_4WD_Rally_Car_Ready_To_Run_UK_Warehouse_.html

Thank you so much for your reply I also posted on MSUK forum and somebody told me to order a ubec maximum of 5.5v so I've ordered one from hobbyking luckily I didn't force the plug in or the 7.4v LiPo would have fried it. Also where it looks like it has to be plug in is the wrong place it has to be plugged into ch4 on the receiver.

As I put in a previous posted I've bought a Etronix ET1100 transmitter with a Etronix ET1155 receiver. http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/1758_1_106488423.html I've put it into the Sand Scorcher I have a TEU-104BK ESC and connected the servo plugs but ghe battery plug doesn't fit it seems to be wired backwards pos to neg and neg to pos. I was going to swap the wires around but I read that the TEU-104BK doesn't have a BEC (whatever that is), any ideas how I can get around this? Can I put something in line to create this BEC? Sorry for being so stupid but I really am a newby to this

I bought this one, anyone else got one? If not I'll give a little review once I've given it a road test. http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/1758_1_106488423.html

I've tried one of these my nephew has one and really couldn't get on with it, I'm too old school, I have found this one though any ideas? I'm just a bit worried that it may have the floppy sticks I read about in the other post.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-FSTA2-STICK-2-4g-2-Channel-Radio-Transmitter-with-3-ch-Receiver-RC-Car-Boat-/201116618788?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2ed37c1024

Can anyone tell me if this would work with the sand scorcher and if it is any good? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FS-CT6B-2-4GHz-6CH-Transmitter-and-Receiver-suit-for-RC-Helicopter-Multi-UK-SH-/281731308592?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item41987e9c30 Last night the car ran away again and it was less than 20ft away, it got wedged under the neighbours car now my nice paint job has got loads of scratches. If not can anyone recommend a transmitter and reciever but on a bit of a budget.
