  1. Hordak with the James Hetfield "Blackfang" guitar pick Yeah man I love Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society. Guitar playing is my other main Hobby And then there's this................. :-)
  2. Oh man I wish I had have seen this and used that Paint layering idea before I did my CR-01. Extremely Nice work sir!!!
  3. He is standing next to the car now like a Driver. Lets not mention my Guitar Amps
  4. Cheers man I knew it was a fair while ago I bought it. Yeah man when I type Avante into Google the Majority of what I get is the Bigger Brother ones you speak of. If I bought this in or around 1990 I would have been just out of High School and probably at my first job earning barely $100 a week so its about all I could afford at the time........
  5. I was gonna put He-man or Skeletor but in terms of 1:10 Scale they would only be 5ft tall..............
  6. Another important this to remember too is too start off the job and finish off the job. To give a better example think of the numbers 1 to 10 Lets say you want to spray an area from the numbers 3 to 8 Don't start spraying at 3 or 4 then go back and forth and stop at 7 or 8. Start outside your job area (where you have masking) at say 2 and then do a straight pass and stop off the job area at say 9. The most common time you will get uneven spots is when you first fire up the spray can or when you stop so you want those times to be outside of your job area
  7. Dug this old guy out from my Wardrobe Does anyone know how old it would be? What Year etc they came out? I know I have had it at least, at Least 15 years or more. My son was born in 1996 and I cant quite remember if I had it before or after he was born. Cheers in advance
  8. Inspired by the same Technique bjorklo used

  10. Thank You man, It does make it a bit tippy so have a good think about what you wanna do with your car before you go ahead with it. I use mine mainly for basic trails, see what I do is I go bushwalking and just drive the car along as I walk for a bit of entertainment. I may be almost 43 but I'm still a big Kid at heart. Those ropes too I hand tied the Truckies Hitches using Tweezers. No Bungee Cord Tomfoolery for this Old Schooler The Tarp Roll is a piece of Auscam material cut from an old pair of Army Pants I had
  11. Had some Boom Racing Scale accessories arrive from Asiatees, Roof Basket with lightbar and some tools etc. Still had more yet to come but couldn't resist getting out for a spin
  12. CoolJetta3 have I seen your pics on rccrawler.com as well?
  13. I got some stuff for mine form Asiatees wasn't too pricey including the postage from korea
  14. He did some patch work on my 1:1 for me and I watched closely what he did, The first coat was barely even visible. He said now this is the hardest part for the beginning spray painter........ We walk away and leave that for about an hour.
  15. Cool I will PM you my number closer to the date if that helps too. That way we can discuss if We wanna pay to park and use the BMX track or park for free and walk the trails which are mainly just flat dirt road
  16. I have a mate who is a professional Automotive spray painter and 2 things he told me about spray Painting. 1: Be Patient, Be Very Patient and use thin even coats. 2: There are not a lot of people who can honestly say they truly stuck to rule number 1 My Windows look a tad streaky from the inside but from the outside they look fine
  17. Took the car out last weekend with 3 NiMh battery stick packs. 2 x 2000mah 1 x 5000mah The 2000mah gets me about an hour of steady driving or about 25 minutes of fast running around in the dirt The 5000mah gets me about 2 and a bit hours of steady driving, I haven't tested it on a flat out dirt run yet But anyhow got a few pics from the day.
  18. There's other dirt walking tracks around the area too if we don't wanna pay to park all day where they have 4hr free parking
  19. Sunday 30th and Sunday 6th could work for me, I am waiting on a response from my 1:1 4wd club about a weekend away but I don't think its that early in the month so lets say the 6th. They do charge for parking at the BMX track there because the greedy council has to pay for their parklands somehow and its like $25 for a Full day or about $5 per hour............ There is BBQ there onsite too so if you bring the kids Lunch can also be part of the day.
  20. I had no major issues with mine, did it about 3 or 4 layers with very little time in between coats but it did look slightly uneven until it dried. Give it a really really good shake and even soak the can in some Hot Water for a minute or 2 before you spray
  21. Very sharp looking red on the FJ40 and I am Absolutely Jealous of that lightbar on the roofracks
  22. Snappy1 I am Guessing you run a Hot Shot, so your gonna be a good deal faster than my CR-01, but that don't mean we cant have a day out with the cars. The places I mentioned above are cool and Today I was at the Monster X Bike Tracks at Homebush/Olympic Park. Enough to keep me interested and plenty of jumps etc for you guys with faster cars
  23. Looks better with the Jeep body and Im very interested to see it after that last Chassis build. Really like the Olive Green too, Was considering a complete Olive Drab scheme for my CR-01 before I ended up going with the lime.
  24. Wanted to add a Touch of realism and "Scale" styling to my rig so decided to make my own Imitation CB antenna for the Bullbar. I used a spare Antenna Pipe that was in the kit and wrapped it in PVC Insulation tape for colour then mounted it via a cable clip I had that near perfectly fitted the Bullbar, just a little glue to hold it secure and away we go. Looks a lot taller than it really is with some of the photo angles. In terms of "Scale" it would be about 1.5m which is 5ft and not unusual for a 4x4 CB Antenna to measure
  25. Show off your CR-01 Any Body shell acceptable, Rock Socker, Mog, Land Cruiser, FJ whatever as long as its on a CR-01 Chassis Modified or un modified. If you have modified your Chassis include a pic for us to see but mainly wanna see your CR-01 Beast in action. Aiming to keep the thread as pictures and avoid long winded text posts, but the odd comment of praise or quick question is welcome. If its a major question or discussion we'll keep that to PM messages eh? So anyway here is a few of mine
