  1. Take your bravery pills and start. You need to cut left and right from the middle row. As I find it almost impossible to cut a straight line you maybe need to trim both halves afterwards and test after each cut if they fit together. I used a pair of scissors for that as cutting wobbling rubber with a knife just don't work. When you are happy with the fit glueing is not a big deal. It is expectable that cut and glued tires are not perfect round and may have a slightly unbalance but I used mine on the beach for scale driving a Sand Rover and didn't notice any problems with that. But those 915 tires are also looking cool uncut on the front: https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=114086&id=9813 This is one of the role models when I build mine.
  2. Awesome work on that drill press @Willy iine. Hard to believe that it is just cut out of a styrene sheet. 👍
  3. Here are some pictures from the wheels and tires. I've made them out of necessity as on one side I wanted VW wheels on my beach buggy and on the other side hobby budget was small. So I searched the hardware stores for some suitable plastic tube and finally found some. I cut small slices from it an glued them on the wheels. After that I shaped the edge to make it look like a rim flange. Some silver paint and it was finished. The middle part of the front wheel was trimmed and both halves were glued back together. Same with the front tire. As it was made at least 8 years ago I think they need a little overhaul.
  4. No Close-ups. A look from above you can see in the picture I posted above. I will take some better pictures this evening.
  5. One of the best is the Citroen Mehari along with the Mini Moke. I have the Brat tires on my Sand Rover but with modified M-Chassis Beetle wheels. I can't say anything to ORV or SRB wheels unfortunately.
  6. Looking good. Brilliant orange will suit the body very well. I like the idea of tonneau cover, very nice. For the wheels you can find SRB Sand Blaster tires on many Sand Rovers /Beach Buggies. But I like the wide track of yours.
  7. That's exactly where I cut. Then glued both parts back together with plastic glue. I'm not sure but if I remember correctly it was Revell Contacta. From the inside I glued styrene sheet to the chassis for additional strength. I've also made a new pin for the battery bracket, so I can still use it. It is not so nice as 3D printed parts but it works.
  8. Just had my first try in postal racing for ages. With a car I've never run before on a track I've never run before. Wasn't that successful I think but I will submit it anyway. Now I prepare my Dirt Thrasher for a second try as the Mad Fighter with pogo sticks seem not to be the best choice for a bumpy backyard track.
  9. Just beautiful. Great work on that Sand Scorcher.
  10. I've built a new shock tower from styrene and installed 1:18 shocks. But I guess mini CVA should also fit and would be a better choice. Shock travel should still be enough as if you build the car for more scale appearance it will be driven on not so rough ground. Unfortunately I have currently no better picture but I think it shows what I mean. Please excuse the poor styrene skills, at that time they were rudimentary, was one of my first mods ever. But it works.
  11. Awesome. You cockpit skills are fantastic!
  12. To shorten the wheelbase you can cut out a piece of the tub. I've done this to get a better look for my Sand Rover. Meanwhile I have a Blitzer Beetle shell on it and the chassis is, although it's glued, strong enough to take a serious bashing. Even with flips and rolls. I shortened the wheelbase for about 1 cm a the standard battery pack still fits. It's a tight fit but it fits.
  13. I still have them. I will send you a PM.
  14. Hope this helps: The width in the upper part is measured a tad above the line, at the point where the radius starts. It's measured with a ruler.
  15. I have a lot of them, but still too little. Some of them are for specific cars but most of them are more part related. One box for tires, one for rims, one for motors and so on.
  16. Maybe it was exactly what was MI6 was looking for. A tank engine of many talents. In some ways James Bond is like that.
  17. Postman bought a driver for the Willys Jeep. It's Pierce Brosnan! 😁
  18. That's so awesome. I always enjoy to follow your build threads. And I'm always a little bit jealous of your skills and machines.👍
  19. You're absolutely right with it. Looks like a ghost car without a driver. One quick question. I took the body off the chassis because I wanted to install a different ESC and noticed that the front axle has only three links. Is that standard? I've tried to find clear pictures online but I'm still not sure. Did they forgot to install the fourth link?
  20. Maybe you mean those: https://www.mini-4wd.de/arii.html You need to scroll down to the end of the page.
  21. You've got to love it. It's just beautiful. Great work!
  22. I've managed to do a first test run... ...and combine it with playing with the daughter... 😂 This Jeep is awesome. Love it. And a more suitable driver is on its way.
  23. Hopefully I will do a test run this afternoon / evening. Currently my daughter has other plans. Otherwise I will do tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I will do some mods on it.
