Though I revive this topic after five years. I really enjoyed it back then. Unfortunately some of the pictures are gone. But here is mine from this morning. And the haiku: Monster went through snow Don't know what will happen next Falling of the edge

Had some winter Monster Truck fun...

That looks strange. A little bit like the skin of a snake.

Have searched for 3741 and found them. Already ordered. Thank you for the tip.

Thank you. Didn't know that such a service exist.

Does anyone know a good source for stock car wheels and tires? I am looking for some for a project I plan. Unfortunately the HPI stock car wheels 3852 are out of production and the current vintage line-up of HPI is not what I'm looking for. If anyone have an advice please share. Cheers!

Anyone else airbrushing shells at the moment?
Aerobert replied to Andyfish2000's topic in General discussions
I am not using airbrush for polycarbonate shells but I like your work a lot. I always loved the classic hot rod flames. Great looking car! -
Sounds like a broken battery to me. Had a similar situation and in the end I had taken the wrong (empty) battery. With a fresh one everything was fine.

I think the sellers sum up all prices they have paid for the car, parts, paint and so on. And then they charge the work they had for building and painting the car. This is the only explanation I could imagine. I also love the sentence in some advertisements: "Real experts know the value of this car"

About 15 years ago I've had an red 1976 four door saloon for a few months as a daily driver. Bought it for 350€ with the plan to restore it. But it was so destroyed by rust that I sold it on as the repair would have outrun my capabilities in car repairs. The A-pillars for example were almost gone. But the time I owned it was great. Lovely car.

That's looking great. I'm following your building progress from the beginning and was not so sure about the body at first. But you have made a nice looking rallye car out of this.👍

As this is not the only prepainted car in the current Tamiya line-up I would say this is for the people how don't want to paint an RC car body. I guess many people who have not been in touch with RC cars before find it interesting to build one but are deterred when they hear they have to paint it with spray cans.

I use a Swiffer duster and / or a brush. But I only have to remove normal house dust.

Absolutely gorgeous. You create perfectly looking RC cars. Where are the decals from. I only know the yellow-black one and didn't find anything about this version.

XT60 connectors are definitely better than the Tamiya connectors. The Tamiya ones are okay for NiMH batteries but I wouldn't use them for LiPos. I use Dean connectors on all of my batteries, NiMH and LiPo, and have no issues. Regarding high capacities of cheap NiMH batteries I always a little bit sceptical. I try to buy for a reasonable price but if it sounds to good I keep my hands off it.

I've just had a look on the website and looked through the manual. I think you're right and the PC connection was removed. What kind of battery do you want to charge (1.2 V 3000 mAh)?
-
Do you have a picture of this charger?
-
From what you've described then it is possibly an interference. This is something that happened sometimes with 27 MHz radio gear. If you have already upgraded the car you probably should also update to an 2.4 GHz radio. You could get one from about 30€ from Carson or Flysky for example.

I don't know the transmitter but I guess the antenna is missing on the picture.

What's the reason for this thought?

That's cool. I love those 1/24 static kits. I also have some to build but I'm always a bit scared of ruin it when it comes to body painting. Therefore high gloss body finish sound very good to me. Must have a look for these.

Maybe you should try to resize your pics before uploading. I think most pictures are taken with a smartphone as it is more comfortable. I use a app called Lit Photo and set the picture quality down to 50%. I think it's still good enough for forum use and reduce the size of the picture from 4.5 MB to 200-300 KB.

I guess in parts it's the different look to modern cars. For me additionally, I've always liked saloon / sedan cars. Great picture!
