  1. Any more suggestions, or should we go with my version 2? I know that might disappoint youngest Mudlet, but it is a lot easier to set out for those with temporary circuits. @rybackwhat do you think?
  2. I think you mean flat clear on the outside. To give you some similar examples R34 has black on the bonnet inside, the flat clear on the outside R35 has gun metal on the bonnet inside, and nothing on the outside.
  3. Drawn in a way I think helps laying it out Arrow indicating where I thought least danger for the lap monitor (though I did get it twice being distracted by inconvenient driveway users
  4. Gave my second suggestion a try out. Certainly quicker and easier to set out than my first suggestion. Might be worth rotating it 45 degree to make it easier to mark out. the chicane works reasonably well, punishing you if you get too wide, rewarding you if you get it right. Quicker than round 7 by a bit I think, and if you have the spare it doesn’t seem too bad if you run wide. However if you don’t have space, there’s amble opportunity to get stuck in borders, hedges or planters. My Delta body is certainly more worn in now!
  5. For a few moments I read that as ‘Mazda had a FWD MX5’
  6. Less complicated and quicker perhaps: Unwinding chicane into a sweeping right handed before the hairpin at the end? The thought was to slow the cars right down, then build the speed up over the lap.
  7. Yeah, that’s what I’ve found in the most recent rounds. Clean lines, no fuss gave consistent good laps. I really noticed it running the FF03 in Round 7, I was just touching the throttle and it was running a silver can. Finding the line to carry the speed, and not going the wrong way round the lower right section is going to be my challenge. I ran a Mini-Z in one of the earlier rounds, not as far behind as I thought, as it trundled round on it’s 4 AAAs.Not quick, but very easy to apex Are there any other layouts we want to try out? 5mx3m marker to maker is our lockdown limit?
  8. Gave the setup a try Fiddly is definelty order of the day, and took a while to go the right way consistently. I don’t think the direct coupling in the front of the XV01TC is helping get the tight turns in. Might have to try @mud4fun’s track if i get chance later. Any other suggestions?
  9. TonysTamiyaParts975 on eBay likes to do that too, somewhat infuriating sometimes
  10. Hehe, hopefully we’ll see a few more entered. There’s a lot about on TC lately, and I think quite a few MF01Xs arriving in people’s build queues?
  11. Not a problem @mud4fun, whatever makes it easier for everyone to understand. I think anything that keeps in the lockdown box is going to be a bit fiddly. Perhaps we have a go tomorrow and see if it’s a pain to set up?
  12. Have you got them on right? Looking at mine they sit outside the knuckle?
  13. 54515 is intended at the regular XV01, so is the 42mm swing shaft, but the rest of the pack is the same.
  14. The manual has them as '44 mm swing shaft' and the bit I think you're talking about - BC20 Axle ring?
  15. Those are the CVDs, they are included in the XV01TC kit
  16. Thanks for posting the video @Al Fred, I've never noticed this before. So I got my XV01TC on the blocks, and yep. I get the same behaviour as you. Fine with wheels off, fine in lower steering angles. As soon as you get to the edge, large wheel vibrations. I've got Tamiya 24mm wheels on (and some Ride 24mm wheels I was actually trying out). Both do the same thing. @Fabia130vRS's point about the axle does seem to be the cause. I can't see any binding, or it being the slop in the c-hub thing. I tried out the same test on a regular XV01 (which has the CVD hop up), and the vibration is very minor, if there at all. With the fron arms being different, is the angle less? So that points to 42216 being required to cut it out, without losing steering angle? Snipped from rctech
  17. Futaba still make a 2 channel stick system https://www.rc.futaba.co.jp/english/propo/ground/2hr.html simple, but effective if it’s all you need
  18. @mud4fun heh, yeah, all your Schumacher talk had made the L1 Evo catch my eye. However I seem to be more into touring cars these days ( the bodies I think is what I like the most), so I've not veered into buggies too much. I had wondered if the L1 Evo was due a refresh soon, no idea how long Schumacher keep their buggies around for? I was doodling some track ideas, but then started to wonder about dimensions. What sort of boundary box are we sticking to these days? I dragged the boxes around a lot, so I figured I might be subconsciously drawing an previous track!
  19. @mud4fun thanks for the comprehensive list! ive a BZ, bearings to hand. I’ve got what I think are original UJ hop ups, just need to dig them out. Hexes, wheels, tyres and a spare body on the shopping list. Roll bars and turnbuckles I need to work out what I have and what I need. so I’ll start with the minimum to hand, see how well it does against the optima. Which could be comical if the snow forecast for the weekend arrives!
  20. @mud4fun I’m hopefully getting a Fire Dragon soon, which I’m intending do these runs on grass. Would you recommend sticking with the stock tires, or switch them up for some Schumacher’s? any other immediate changes I should make?
  21. we have the get out of just having to pick I think @ryback should have the honour, he was top of the table @mud4fun have you tried that circuit out? I like the idea of a longer lap time, but yeah, remembering where to go might be challenging!
