took it out today, what awesome power, and the battery life was brilliant to , compared to my sons 540 , he used 2 batteries to my one, cheers , and thank you for your help,Let us know how it runs!

what about a rv15. Would that be okay,A 12 turn ESC would give you plenty of headroom. I like the Mtroniks RV12 (or RV12 Assault for LiPo) and a lot of people like the Quikrun, although I haven't tried that one myself yet.

Will do, hope the batteries can stand up to it now, lol

21t is on and ready for the weekendAye, it is a good place to start, although with the extra torque available from the motor upgrade, you might find 21T working well for you too. Just make sure it is a steel one!
-
At the moment it has a 21t gear, shall I stick with that,

Hi guys, got a Orion sv2 motor, it also says on motor method 19x2. What would be the best esc to run with this, cheers

will ty that at the weekend, shall I stick with 19t gear aswellSetting reverse to active is pretty easy, yes.
Put a battery in the car, and turn it on while holding the ESC setup button down.
Keep an eye on the ESC light, and let go of the button when the light is shining red.
Reverse should now be activated.

If you want to turn it off again, repeat the procedure - each time you do it, you toggle reverse on or off.
-
Put the wires as you said, works a treat, but not sorted out reverse yet, only got forward motion, awesome speed in the dark, is setting up reverse easy,

I'll check this out tomorrow night, to cold to go in the workshop tonight, and then how do you set esc to brushless motorTo be absolutely sure you are hooking it up properly, you would be best served by using the colour coding on the wires, matching them to the letters on the rear of the motor.
Blue = A
Yellow = B
Orange = C

thank youI'll have to look at my set up when I get home...I don't believe you will damage anything if you don't connect them correctly, at least I never have. You'll know if it is wrong because the motor won't work and you'll hear a high pitched noise. I couldn't find directions so I connected it probably 2-3 times before I finally got it right.

Hi guys, I'm new to this brushless motor business , I've just brought these 2 for my Baja champ, what they like to set up , and on the motor how does the red ,blue and orange wires go into the motor , cheers

what's the best way of checking and adjusting the tracking when fitted,

can I use this motor with this. Passion brushless 13.5rI use Tamiya TBLE-02 ESCs coupled to Speed Passion 13.5t sensored motors in my brushless cars. Although the TBLE-02 is not the easiest ESC to set up, it works nicely once sorted.
-
I'll get one then , and I will let you know, cheersBasically, you take it into a dark room so that you can see the LED change colour, then poke the setup button with a hard pokey tool at the appropriate time to select the mode you want. You can switch it between brushed and brushless mode, switch reverse on and off, activate and deactivate the LVC, etc.
If you have one handy, we can walk you through the setup if you like.

next question is, how do you set it up, not got a clue, sorryyyyyyyI use Tamiya TBLE-02 ESCs coupled to Speed Passion 13.5t sensored motors in my brushless cars. Although the TBLE-02 is not the easiest ESC to set up, it works nicely once sorted.

okay, didn't know that, got any good ideas for motor and esc combo. And where to get it fromYou could stay with NiMH if you wanted to. That is what I run in my cars, both brushed and brushless.
The only caveat is that to do so, you'd need an ESC with a NiMH mode. Some brushless ESCs expect LiPo power, and when they don't receive it, they shut down thinking that there is a problem.
-
If I went brushless would I have to go to lipo battery, or could I stay with nimh
-
Got the bearings now, so will do that, then brushless motor and esc next

2.4ghz fitted . Runs like a dream now, cheers guysWhat radio gear are you using? If you are using a 2.4GHz set, this might well indicate a problem, but if you are running a 27MHz set, it is not unexpected due to the amount of interference on the band (and an excellent reason to upgrade to 2.4GHz).
