  1. MKII Golf to go on XV-01 Chassis would be great although I have two XV-01's (both long damper spec) one built and one not - 3 Integral bodies and 1 GR-Yaris....
  2. Are they really 'Waterproof' ? I have just sprayed mine with a dirt / water repelling spray and it seems to let moisture bead off weather or not they would survive a submersion remains to be seen....
  3. I raised the wheel end of the steering rods (with 2xPC case motherboard brass supports each side) a little too much so that they are next to the widest part of the tire when cornering and the tyre flexes it hits the rod end, so I have now removed one of the spaces each side but have not tested it yet to see the effect.
  4. Installed on the new build monster beetle and appears to working well at the back end! - shame about the front end though - have tried to make the steering arms parallel with the suspension - which I have but when turning on full lock the ball joints foul the tyres.....
  5. I bought mine new circa '99 (had not had an RC since mid eighties when I had my Grasshopper / Hornet). SInce had higher shock towers and bigger tyres (as pictured) but I also have recently bought a WT-01 front 'fake gearbox' for it and will probably put a Bettle shell on it so it can be used by my boys along with a Monster beetle I am yet to build.
  6. Well I would probably want a bare shell tbh and I wasn't actively looking for one and only replied to this thread because my actual car is pictured! but thanks for the offer.
  7. Tamico have 2 according to their website but not sure what the massive costs are bringing it into the UK these days - I assume in Italy you might be okay?
  8. Haha that's mine in the Picture - but I came to the thread too to see where I might be able to get another body as mine is looking a little tatty these days....
  9. Hmm, I already have a NIB Brat with the Ampro rear suspension mod waiting as mentioned BUT I quite fancy a Monster Beetle to go with the Wild Dagger I have - which I might convert to 2 wheel drive (with big tyres it goes through universals at an alarming rate). I have 2 sons so usually need 2 of everything or similar! I am always modifying and adding bits but of late it becomes a bit difficult when fixing / replacing parts if I cannot remember what I have built. - so I will try and keep this fairly standard - can't decide whether or not to get Black special or standard Red - LHS has both at reasonable prices and I feel like I should support them! - I assume both can be used unpainted? Xeostar appreciate I can PM you to order your gearbox plates - just wanted to check you are still doing them?
  10. What a thread! Coming from the Isle of Wight originally (i go there regularly but now live on the mainland) the delivery and supply problems there are probably small fry compared to where you are! I have a Re-Re Brat NIB waiting for a build some day and have bought a silly amount of hop ups for it too, including alot of the Ampro parts - namely the whole rear suspension mod which clamps the gearbox together and enables more up right suspension and double wishbones which really completely changes the car, i am yet to build it though!
  11. that is the lead I have - maybe I need to investigate the settings further!!!
  12. No I am using the XT60 to usb-C adapter so I think you are right (thanks) - although the OTG power bank powers up with the usb-C lead plugged in - as you say it is a dumb lead on the XT60 end and therefore does not start providing current to the M7 - should of thought about that before I bought it! Did look at the M4 but wanted the ability to charge little NIMH packs too. I have done some charging from a 3s 4000 mAh (overlander sport track) to a 2s 4000 mAh (Core RC) pack successfully also to smaller s3 1300 mAh packs. I don't use the 3s 4000 mAh packs that often the so this will mean they get a little more use. I guess I could get some sort of USB-C activation circuitry in-between but might not be worth it!. Still the M7 is clever little unit and is great value for money. I have a SkyRC Q200 quad charger too but it is a lot less portable I got the P200 as well for use with the M7 but also for powering / testing other 12volt items (old car stereo for example - although I wonder if it will be noisy?). oh though occurs to me that there is a USB A port on the 'charging side of the M7 I wonder if a future FW update might enable PD talk somehow??? although there will probably be a current issue through that port. cheers Guy

  14. Well both can output 20V 5A through the USB-C port which should be enough for the lower end (IE smaller batteries) i thought.. One is: NEO P2 - Minix the other: Home - OTG Technologies | Powering Productivity On-The-Go (otg-technologies.com)
  15. So I have just got the above for a couple of reasons: to see if I can use a 28000 mAh USB-C power brick with the M7 (using a USB-C to XT60 lead) - this appears not to work so far..... have also tried using a USB-C wall wart and this doesn't work either- need to try using a standard car lipo as the input I think to start with But also I want to see if swapping charged batteries about etc. is easier / more efficient - so for example can i use one battery that has + 50% remaining to bring another battery back up to storage level charge etc. has anyone else got an M7?
  16. I am rebuilding through diff on my BB, it has had a 13.5t brushless motor on it from the word go and been bashed alot so when I opened it up and found that one of the sun gears had shed a tooth and mangled some of the others I was not surprised, but pleased to discover I had bought a replacement set at the same time as buying the model! My question is am I mad in thinking to use some silicone sealant to run around the diff casing and also around the teeth of the dog bone cups to try and keep the diff oil in place for a bit longer?
  17. Just noticed my post count isn't very high! but well done for spotting !
  18. I will be building my second XV-01 Rally long damper spec soon so will need to refer to that thread again myself!
  19. I've got a purchase history a mile long with Modelsport always been good to me! Shame they don't offer some sort of loyalty program. when I got back into RC stuff back in 2012 - they were where I started the rabbit warren!
  20. Thanks for that. Decided to go for UK in the end (with VAT a delivery the cost is not the different) - although I do want some 17.5T motors which don't seem to be available atm so will have to wait i guess (Hobbywing Quicrun) so ordered 2 13.5T Quicruns and 3 10BL60's from Modelsport - dropping the 10BL60's in an XV-01 Lancia Integrale (replace TBLE-02s) - then a second XV-01 to build (both long Damper spec!) so hence got a Gazoo Racing Yaris body on the way for the new XV-01. Finally the other 10BL60 will replace the TBLE-02s on a Blitzer Beetle which has a TBLE-02s as well with a SP MMM 13.5 motor.
  21. What would anyone suggest as an alternation to SP motors? Hobbywings own? Looking for 17.5 to 13.5? (Anything lower is gearbox destroying with my kids!)
  22. Wow felt compelled to reply straight away! Isn't it always the last thing you check! (oxymoronic) - I tried multiple different batteries and these batteries all worked on other 10BL120s I have. The switch felt fine and so did the setup button - however I sprayed some switch lube and worked it the switch back and forth a bit and pressed the setup button lots - but no joy earlier today. Just re-connected it all up and the switch is now rather stiff but - bingo it now works! so thanks very much for the tip - it's one of those things in hind site I should have checked - lots of people probably always think that! Might try and take apart the switch to check for dirt / corrosion etc. But thanks again - it has renewed my faith in these great value ESCs - I am wondering whether the 10BL120 is over kill for manly 13.5t Speed passion Motors (I have one Tamiya 10.5) and thinking about the 10BL60 next time. cheers G.
  23. One of my 10BL120's has got a problem. After turning on it it start doing single then double beeps in time with the green LED. BEC still works and I can also access settings with the program card, but there is no drive at all. I have check the motor and sensor cable and they seem to be okay (and of course battery 2s) The only thing in the manual states it could be incorrect battery voltage. Any suggestions?
