  1. wow time flies - just realised my build thread was almost 4 years ago... DT-03T Aqroshot Build - The Builds - Tamiyaclub.com HAHA - your's (this one) is !!!
  2. To be fair I don't think 'I' have actually broken it - more my sons. combination of sometimes 3s battery (although I always turn down the EPA 15-30% depending on who is using it. did have aluminium arms all over it which makes it heavier - cartwheels don't do it any favours - that is what probably did the stub axles repeatedly and the gearbox casing once. but parts are relatively available though (obvious current issues aside). I seem to have trouble remembering which bit's i have changed from standard - ie the GF-01 long axles etc. to cope with the wider hexes. I should perhaps try and keep the DT-02 fairly standard - and as you say the GH2 shell should fit better. - I think some of the reason the car handles / rides so well comes from the longer wheelbase - I believe flipping the front arms on the DT-02 is doable.
  3. Haha I bought a GH2 shell on your recommendation. Still sits in a box. As for the dt-03 it now does too as it has gone through 2 chassis and 1 gearbox, not to mention how many stub axles. So I have a dt-02 sandviper awaiting build To be fair though it is / was the best handling 2wd chassis in my inventory, so I wonder what the dt-02 will be like if I get around to building it!
  4. I have gone down the route of converting from a DT-02(T) to a DT-02 - i have yet to transfer the gearbox and build the DT-02 (I bought a Sand viper full kit) Reason being the DT-03 Chassis is a bit weak esp. with 2s (sometimes 3s) and my boys playing with it. I also kept snapping the outdrives too although tbf they are lengthened ones with wider hexs to widen the odd DT-03 narrow rear track which doesn't help. I have also actually split the side of the gearbox casing as well (cartwheel at full chat) -so I have gone through 1 DT-03 Chassis and DT-03/02 Gearbox casing!!!
  5. Ordered some of these wheels thanks and some dual block Ks to fit
  6. The xv-01 rods appear to have an angle of approximately 47.5 degrees on them, the ends are about 40mm long and the middle about 36mm long. See picture
  7. Haha - no stock anywhere - I am guessing you bough the last TA-06 ones from ebay - from a place in Bath???? I probably will not get a chance to build my second XV-01 for a while so i can wait - I will try and measure the current ones on the already built one - but i probably involves disassembly. If i recall correctly the instructions for the xv-01 stabilizers refer to a ring type part with a grub screw that should be fixed to the centre of the stabilizer to stop it moving sideways - mine didn't come with these so i got some brass ones from the LHS and modified them - I will try and photo them...
  8. I have the same problem- a second xv-01 which will be long damper but no sway bars. So I am interested in the answer too.
  9. oh well first try appears to not work - ie i think the 18t motor does not produce enough torque... i might try a 3s battery but need to find a small enough one with high enough capacity and current draw capability...
  10. I read (can't remember where) that the last approx. 2cm exposed core of 2.4ghz antenna is critical. I had a receiver that had lost this section and consequently the range was absolutely abysmal. So I measured the exposed end core length on a working tx of the same model and then stripped back the external sheathing on the non working one and this seemed to fix the range issue. These recivers are the core rc / tamco / etronix 3-channel fhss ones that are now as rare as hens teeth.
  11. thanks for the help - i have ordered the ones from Tony's - wonder if superglue is the way forward for the outdrives into the plates...
  12. Are they the same metal or something stronger?
  13. Yup there is i did glue them in but obviously not well enough....
  14. Forgot the they are sometimes listed without the leading 1 ie: 9805378 seems some places appear to be having them in next week.... I guess I need to glue them in better in future...
  15. ahh gone and stripped the larger pressure plate on the Top Force rear diff MA17 (19805378) (although MA18 the smaller pressure plate appears to share the same part number). I see they are available at Tamico but with brexit it will be a silly price I am sure - anyone know where preferably UK based where I could get any?
  16. My son has a Pro Boat Jet Jam 12" pool racer which has been great. I was wondering if it is worth trying to upgrade it. Will probably have to change Radio gear and ESC (original is combined unit) which is not a problem Original servo is some funny 4 wire thing so that will have to go too. Original motor is a Dynamite Tazer 390 22T Ultimately I was going to try a Traxas 380 18T motor with a Quicrun 1060 ESC Both will remain with 2S battery I was trying to work out if the the upgrade will work - obviously it will require an increase in RPM to turn the jet impellor faster, i assume there maybe a slight drop in torque but probably not enough to worry. does anyone know where I can find the detailed specs of each motor?
  17. to be fair the Front wheels on the Blitzer and DT-03T seem to fair much better than the rears - so maybe all i need is some rears!
  18. oh I know - I have been using them on both Blitzer and DT-03T- as I think I got the idea from your very useful original thread on the DT-03T - but I am curios as to what the wheels are. cheers G.
  19. cool thanks - I will have a think, now that I am putting away the 2WD buggies for winter! I notice those are schumachers on the rear of your Blitzer - what wheels are you using?
  20. Anyone have suggestions for better wheels than above - they seem to get buckled very easily and never seem to be particularly well balanced in the first place.?
  21. Hi all tittle explains it all really - can't get one anywhere - preferably UK if possible - any ideas? cheers G.
  22. i asked - didn't get - .... never mind.
  23. Hi does anyone know if there is a deal similar to above for 2020? I am thinking about doing a 600 euro order before lockdown and brexit! Cheers G.
  24. I have helped my son build the Mud Mad - which actually imo is great - as it rolls over well being almost symmetrical end to end. We have the torque tuned and it seems reasonably drivable to me. have the upgraded cross pieces, bearings and steering bars as well. Have ordered the LB mini for my other son in prep for Christmas along with 2 sets of the Yeah drive shafts - which i think i will put one set each on the rear. have also got the upgraded diffs on the way - wondered whether to put on the rear only too - expensive but maybe be required......
