  1. if it helps this is where I buy non Tamiya LEDs - they have all the specs etc. https://www.kitronik.co.uk/components/leds-and-lamps/ultra-bright-leds.html
  2. Thanks for the info. I have ordered the following from Tony's Tamiya Parts 54379 Tamiya XV-01 Aluminium Suspension Mount X2 54471 TA06 Steel Gear Differential Unit (Rear) (XV-01/FF03R/M07) 54378 XV-01 Slipper Clutch Set (XV01/XV-01 Pro/XV-01T/XV01T) 54467 48 Pitch Pinion Gear (32T, 33T), (XV-01/XV01/XV-01TC/XV01TC) 54450 18T Aluminium Pulley (for TA06 & XV-01) (XV01/TA-06) X2 54376 Rc Separate Sus Mounts (1Xj) 54448 Reinforced Drive Belt (573mm) Can't get hold of the following in the UK though 54377 Rc Separate Sus Mounts (1Xm) This is for the rear suspension so it might take less abuse than the front ? Decided to order the just the rear steel diff - but will see if it works in the front for future reference too.
  3. Hmm can't seem to find much information regarding the front gears - the stock items are the same front and rear whereas the 54471 items seems to be only compatible with the rear - but I can't see how? is this perhaps why 54428 is available and you just replace the gears in the front and not the rest of it? the slipper clutch states you need a different pinion than stock - can I use 54467 (32 or 33T Pinion) with the slipper clutch or will I need a different size spur gear to go with the slipper - I plan on using a Speed passion 13.5t motor. cheers G.
  4. Oh and what thickness are the Hexs 4,5 or 6mm Tamiya list all 3 as options....
  5. Interesting - I have been after an XV-01 for some time and just pulled the trigger with Time Tunnel I've read through and don't think I see an answer for my questions so I will put them here: I intend to order the following: 54379 Tamiya XV-01 Aluminium Suspension Mount What are the below for though are they instead of above? 54376 Rc Separate Sus Mounts (1Xj) 54377 Rc Separate Sus Mounts (1Xm) Also do I need: 54471 TA06 Steel Gear Differential Unit (Rear) (XV-01/FF03R/M07) or just the below to go in the stock diff housing - front and Rear (I not the above is just for the rear). 54428 RC Steel Bevel Gears finally I will order these too: 54378 XV-01 Slipper Clutch Set (XV01/XV-01 Pro/XV-01T/XV01T) 54450 18T Aluminum Pulley (for TA06 & XV-01) (XV01/TA-06) - I assume X2 one for each end? 54516 XV-01 Assembly Universal Shaft (Rear/2 Pcs.) (XV01/XV-01T/XV01T) Already have the fronts from a TT-02 Project.
  6. Anyone tried these: Overlander 7.4v 55C 3250mAh LiPo Sport Track Pack according to Modelsport they are 136x46x22 whereas the Core RC 4000mAHr 7.4v 30/60C 2s LiPo (which I have 3 off but 2 are getting a bit old and bloated!) are 133.7x46x23.3 I also have 1 of Peak Power Plant LiPo 2s 7.4v 4000mAh 45C which 138x45x25 which is too long for some models (my Egress to name 1)
  7. I have 3 of these and 2 of them have started swelling - there is a gap in on side of the case.... but they still seem to function okay - I've had 2 of them for well over a year but no idea how many cycles they have been through.
  8. Just noticed this for pre order with most if the usual suspects when did this happen?
  9. Hmm I have Tamco and Core RC Transmitters - certainly Tamco & Core RC receivers which work either way - and I think I might have an Etronix one as well which I think works.... I will have a look when I remember next time... But I think there might have been some earlier non FHSS ones????
  10. I went through a fair amount of investigation recently and yes the consensus seems to be that the factory / company that produced all 3 makes is no more, however it is possible the design patent could be bought and therefore reproduced, but the consensus is says that they were very good value so I would expect that if they do come out again they will be more expensive. I have 4 stick transmitters and probably about 20 receivers.
  11. Hi, I am yet to build the 3-speed! But have the Transmitter in use with my CR-01 which has 4WS and switchable lights - so a 2way switch toggles through the steering modes, and a 2way switch turns lights on and off. I have just assigned the 3way switch with a spare channel and on the test display toggling the switch cycles the display from 100% to 0% to -100% - so in theory it should work with the 3speed gearbox - however I do have a 'gate' on the left throttle stick so I could use this for the gearshift instead. My transmitter is the FlySky Fs-i6 as above which came with a 6channel RX but I have also bought an 8 channel RX and programming cable from these RCTank electronics who also provided a programming cable along with a link to download upgraded firmware to turn the FS-i6 into a 10 Channel TX - so very helpful lot I thought - oh and they also sell the stick spring return kit.
  12. Have not purchased one yet so can't tell you i'm afraid !
  13. Price drop £75 postage still not included
  14. For anyone else needing one look here: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/?product_id=372511
  15. How about 54028 Aeration Dampers - I have them on a DT-03T with softer springs could try them on the TF once built...
  16. Hmm maybe some of the Tamiya Red gel tread lock will suffice...
  17. I bought an extra set of uni shafts with the kit but have not bought hardened cups yet.... - I might have some others lying around from a TT-02 which share the same with DF's if I remember correctly..... dunno if they will fit have not looked yet.... cheers G.
  18. Sorry I meant outdrives glued into the Diff.! see pic below - it's not the clearest
  19. Started building this - will do a build thread with pics once complete. - It advises in the manual to use Synthetic Rubber glue to glue the drive shafts it!? I assume this is only to hold it together before the dog bones / universals are in place to stop them falling out - never seen this in any other builds....
  20. Whoops missed it - there is a section but it's not very helpful list: 21T 1:8.59 20T 1:9.02 19T 1:9.49 18T 1:10.02 17T 1:10.61 16T 1:11.27 I assume therefore that it should be the 21T anyway being the nearest.
  21. Would this be the right Pinion to replace the standard kit item for the 2017 Top Force: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/rw-6-pinion-21-teeth/rc-car-products/13760 ??? Also with a 2s and 10.5t TBLM-02s (using HW 10BL120 ESC ) what size could I go to doesn't seem to say anything in the manual?
  22. Can't decide between building this and the 3-Speed Highlift I have had hanging around for ages
  23. Ahh so PS-37 followed by PS-48 for the Body perhaps - cheers.
  24. Haha my sons have broken 2 rear axles - (effectively looses the wheel as it snaps where the pin goes through) on my DT-03 and nothing on the front so far - I guess they go sideways faster than forwards ... And generally I use the EPA function when my younger son is playing which is a lot easier than changing the motor
