  1. Oh that is a good comparison shot thanks. I know what your saying about being wrong, if you are and you admit it in these sort of circumstances people will forget ;) whereas if you are wrong and don't admit it they will not not! :( - I am not saying you are wrong or right - just glad of the help !

To my mind the Chassis look very similar in shape in fact the tt-02b slightly wider at the front or rather the chassis on the DF-02 starts to narrow towards the front Axle slightly earlier, this is slightly inverse towards the rear not as much though.

The Aero Avante shells I have found on Ebay seem to have holes already cut.

Just wonder what the metallic red was used on the DF-02 Red Special....

  2. Hmm thanks for the info - I guess the post position might be the problem here. What I am trying to is spruce up my TT-02B (decided to keep it!) and wanted a new but different shell already have 2 TT-02B ones  -Dual Ridge (pretty tired) and Neo Scorcher. I fancy trying to re-create the Metallic red colour of the Aero Avante special....

  3. Wow just read most of the bits of your thread - tried to search for details but it kept coming back with Tanks!

Seems you put a huge amount of effort into improving it - so it seems with the rubber bands it's not very good. For me that would be the better option from a wear / grip perspective as it would get driven on hard surfaces most of the time.

    Thanks for the info.

  5. Finally finished the the Jeep Hard body for my CR-01 last week - it's the first Hard body that I have airbrushed and the first colour I picked blue was a disaster so I stripped it back and started again (with the grey primer as well) and then did close to box art spec - gloss black is very hard to get right... imo. Oh well I will see if I can do a better job with the Brat and the Tundra in the future…. Has working lights via switch on the remote.

    Awesome!  Thanks.

I do have another question.  Tamiya calls them differential gear case covers.  Apparently my google-fu is weak, because I, for the life of me, can’t find the DF02 white gear covers.

Is there a number for them?

Tamiya 10555104 / 0555104 Cream Colour Diff Gear Case (Both Parts)

I'm not too familiar with the TT02 chassis' parts. I have a brand new AE TC4 club racer that I want to trade. Someone is offering me a used (but not abused) TT02R for straight swap. But I read in some threads that the TT02S is a much better chassis. I'd like to know which parts are needed to replace to make the R version an S. Will it take a lot to change and make me spend more rather than selling my TC4 and buying an S instead? Hope to see pics side by side and close up pics of their differences.

    Thanks in advance! :)

Above is my build thread of the Type S when I did it so some pictures there.

Essentially speaking there are the following parts that come with the Type S:

    C Parts 51352 Steering Uprights

    F Parts 51293 Front Carriers

    E Parts 19008170 Rear Uprights

D Parts 51297 Suspension arms x2  (Front and Rear)

    BB10 53539 3x3.0mm Spacer x8

    BB11 53539 3x1.0mm spacer x2

BB15 19805681 3x48.5mm Shaft x4 Suspension Arm to chassis pins.

    BB16 53825 2.6x25mm Shaft x2 (suspension arm to Upright/Carriers)

    BB17 53825? 2.6x22mm Shaft x2 (suspension arm to Upright/Carriers)

    BB18 19805800 3x32mm Turnbuckle shaft x4

    BB19 50875 5mm Adjuster for above

    BB22 51048 Drive Shafts x4

BB23 19804237 Gearbox joint x4 (I think these are the same as the R actually)

BB24 19808192 Wheel axle x 4 (These are different to the R - perhaps in length as the arms are different)

    BB25 19804387 Front suspension shaft adaptor x2

    BB26 19804838 Rear suspension shaft adaptor x2

    BB27 13450618 Front suspension plate

    BB28 13450619 Rear suspension plate

    BB29 14305646 Front Damper stay

    BB30 14305647 Rear damper stay

There are some other parts as well but you need to look at the manual to get a full list!

in the pics below the Type S has the ESC with the Fan on top with the Slick tyres as opposed to no fan and tyres with tread.

I got spare plastic one, where r u located? But the alloy is also a good option.

That is very kind, but don't worry I am UK based. - I have already ordered an alloy one whilst this one is gluing. So don't worry.

Out of Curiosity how have you managed to have a spare one, changed chassis to a different colour perhaps?

    thanks

  9. broken! Car belongs to my 3.5 yr old, but it was the 6 yr old that broke it and rear upright at the same time. Normally the power is turned down but he ran it flat out into a wall..... Probably my own fault..... It has split right through one of the holes for the steering arm ball joints. I will try aralditing it but I don't think it will last.

Have you any links to these, would love a carbon chassis (Although not enough to sell internal organs for 🙄) and my upgraded outdrives are worn, and will need replaced, but can't find any parts at all!!!

    I'm confused I didn't say the above! ;)
