  1. Hi All,

Okay well finally ordered the Tundra from TImetunnel

    Now onto the Junfac kit.

    J10028 JunFac 4-Link suspension conversion
    J44221 JunFac Steering kit (1 inc.above)
    J90024 JunFac Hardened Uni shafts
GE-J51032 JunFac ALU wheel spacer (13 mm, red)

I think I have decided to go 4WS just for the added complexity hence the above extra Steering kit.

What I have not worked out yet is the suspension - I assume you cannot use the leaf springs once upgraded to the 4-Link (it would be pointless have the 4-link then!). I have seen these mentioned as in upgrade for the 3-speeds: GE-GM20501 Gmade ALU shock G-TRANSITION (4 PCs., red) 80mm but I assume this is while they are still running the leafs as there are no springs-

Can anyone suggest what shock spring combination is a good match for the 4-Link upgrade?

  2. I am having problems again - I can login to the forums okay with my forum ID and password(hence this post) but I cannot seem to login to the main site with the correct password and email etc. I click on the 'Log in / Register' and type in email and password then click 'Login' and it just takes me back to the main page - as if I have not logged in - and I have tried on two computers to make sure I have not got some cached wrong password or some such.

    Any suggestions?

    thanks

    G.

  3. Thanks for you reply.

I have had a look - and it looks like you can upgrade to 10 Channels with an easy firmware upgrade - which also means you can then assign each of the switches to channels -BUT here is the kicker - I don't need any more channels - what I would like to do is to have channels 3,4,5 & 6 on switches and I don't think the firmware will do that by default - I think it will be 5,6,7,8,9 & 10 on switches (as Aux channels - which would mean the requirement of a 10 channel receiver... I guess it might be possible to re-wire it internally...... I have found various long running threads about the various firmware's etc. but they all seem to be geared towards quad copters etc. - understandably.

I'm close to purchasing a 3speed, but currently testing a CR-01 with the radio and would like:

    Channel 1 - Stick - Steering

    Channel 2 - Stick - Throttle

    Channel 3 - 3 Position Switch - Gear shift - I could use a Stick with Throttle and a gate I guess

Channel 4 - 2 position switch - Remote diff locks (from the Diff Doktor)

    Channel 5 - 2 position switch - Lights

    Channel 6 - 2 position switch - 4 wheel steering mode select

It’s a 6 channel Tx designed for planes/heli’s, but works well for cars too.

You can get a left stick spring return kit for a few quid off ebay as it holds position as per other aero tx’s. Although I’ve not actually found it an issue, got the kit, but haven’t fitted it yet.

15 model memory and fully programmable.

    Losi,

Did you get the programming cable with yours? Mine did not come with one - but I am also trying to see if I can set channels 3&4 can be assigned to the switches like channels 5&6 can which would be handy - the manual mentions in section 7.13 Aux Switches - and I am wondering if anything can be done here when connect to a PC with s/w etc. to configure channels to switches etc.

    cheers

I have bought one of these on your recommendation and I am in the process of fitting it to my CR-01 which has FWS (although I am using a Bastens QuadSteer module with it as well - so both steering servo's go into the little module and it's then Plugged into the receiver, the steering channel in one port and a another channel with a switch to control the different steering modes - works very well). Now I need to figure out another spare channel to use to remotely switch on lights!

I recently bought a re re Boomerang and want to upgrade the standard silver can. It came with the standard Tamiya Speed control which can run brushless motors, so i thought why not upgrade to one of these. I want a decent speed upgrade, does the 10.5T push out as much power as say a brushed BZ? I would still run Nimh batteries etc, not looking for super speed and performance.

Thoughts and advice would be most welcome

With a 10.5t you might need the Fan kit for the TBLE-02S. I use the TBLE-02S with a Tamiya TBLM-02 10.5t on a TT0-2 Type S chassis which is run on tarmac only generally and if does stop and overheat sometimes even with the fan going - can't remember the gearing but it is fairly high - you might get away with it with a Boomerang. Alternatively I run a TT-02B with fairly high gearing also, but with a Speed Passion MMM 13.5t motor along with the TBLE-02S but no Fan and it is generally fine. - Both running LIPO 2s batteries.

  7. wow lot's of options thanks every one. in a click fest I ordered remote controlled switches from HK as Gooney bird suggested (but I needed some more servo's anyway) and actually I only have 1 TLU-01 on a cr-01 which also has 4WS etc. So I could set this up as ChrisRx718 suggests and then - some other vehicles I will put lights on without a TLU-01 I will use the remote switches with - jus

t need to remember which resistors to use with which LED's when building light circuits.!

    thanks again ;)

  8.  you don't specifically mention you ran the TBLE throttle setup as per the confusing instructions. As not sure which core radio you have. I have a 3ch core code / tamico tac330 (same radio, different brand) radio which has all sorts of ABS / throttle curve functions and if these are messed about with i sometimes have had to re-run the TBLE throttle setup again.

Do you have crawler motors believe thats more efficient on the esc than the epa.

I drew the body lines on the outside with a CD marker. But more like sketchy gives it a cartoon feel.

Yes I do have the standard CR-01 motor kicking about which I think is 35 turn? But I also have a couple of 50t Etronix motors so plenty of options, but when Dad wants ago when junior has gone to bed it is quicker to turn the speed up with epa 😁😈

  10. ahhh wow that looks great, the younger lad is going to love it I think.

No one has asked how old my younger son is (which I am going to make for his birthday coming up in July) but my elder one is 5 and has no problems driving the other Tamiya's i have around at full throttle - but as mentioned earlier i let the younger one play too but turn the EPA down to about 50% which depending on the car is still faster than adult walking pace. Both of them can handle either pistol grip controllers or full size sticks. And recently in all the snow were having great fun with the Egress and TT02B with super gripper tyres.

Anyone care to guess how old he will be in July????
