  1. The Nissan R91CP wheels have always been a favorite part of restoration process when building one of these iconic group c's.
  2. These are a set of vintage Kyosho Superten wheels. The rears have been custom fabricated with a increased lip to smooth out the rear design of the 911 GT3 RSR. The tires are Kyosho radial grooved super wides.
  3. These are special Tamiya red card Nissan 300ZX group C wheels only sold at special events in Japan.
  4. Replacement of the classic 787B aero brake disc.
  5. Here's a vintage very (1st) first USA imported Tamiya Mazda 787B 1992 RC Car Action Magazine Test Review by John Huber from back in 1992 restored to factory original specs and road test duplicated 27 years later.
  6. The selection of wheel and rubber for this build are a cross breed of Hpi and Kyosho. The rear wheels are made by Kyosho Super-Ten FW03 BBS Super wide wrapped in RJ Ride G30 race slicks. The fronts are Hpi vintage super dish silver wheels widened with hpi slick M compound. The combination of the two work well together and achieved the vintage race look I was going for.
  7. This is my Hpi Super Rs4 EP brushless 2 speed PTI Racing Porsche 962. One of my favorite on road touring cars.
  8. Thank you. I've had lifting issues with the Renown lines on other 787B's in the past.
  9. The body is an original #58102 used on the project.
  10. When I started this project "Return of the Mazda 787B Rotary 🇯🇵" honestly I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. The most enjoyable part of this build was the creative process along the way which at times can be overshadowed by the final result. Visit www.Motorworldmedia.com 👈 for the complete Build Story. Here's a few pic's of the finished project. Thermal Orange in Sun
  11. Looking for any help from the paint experts out there with the dark chrome wheel color on this kit. Any suggestions on a TS or PS color match or technique to achieve these exact results. Attached pic for reference thanks!
  12. Looking for Vintage Tekin 408S Sport TSC. Item found thanks.
  13. I enjoy collecting top quality Group C race cars. The 787B, R91CP, C-11, XJR-12. Originals and re-released versions.
  14. My vintage original Mazda 787B #58102 ex-racer retired to the shelf for over 25 yrs. After all these years I decided to finally pull the car off the shelf and paint the rear wheels and add Dunlop tire decals which didn't matter much over 2 decades ago. Next project is to paint and install a group c driver cockpit to finish it off in style which wasn't very popular back in the day on the race track in the 90's.
  15. I'm getting close to finishing up my vintage group c Mazda 787B Stealth Racer. Non traditional Black Merc C-11 wheels w/ offset spacers & black chassis tree parts. Mabuchi black RS-540 sport tuned motor, Mazda 787B Tamiya Staff Factory Finished Body #32, freshly decaled Tamiya correct, lowered rear wing-stay & Aristo-Craft Hitec HS 402 servo. Still need to install Vintage Novak ner-75 receiver & Tamiya ESC. Dunlop wheel decals in Mazda orange w/ group c cockpit awaiting final design & paint.
  16. The heat treatment should fix the issue on the wiper blade. I've done a few of these group c cockpits for a Jaguar XJR-12 & Merc C-11 & run into the same issues with the harness belts around the torso. If I had to do it all over again I would of used a different method approach when it comes to the helmets. I took a F-1 approach with the driver helmets and tried to color match the suits with the accent colors of the car. For the R91CP I'm going to stay box art traditional since I have 2 to complete and been putting it off forever because I don't want to screw them up.
  17. Thanks Fuijo. I forgot to put the clear spacers on for the photos so the body does need to come up in the front & thanks for the offer! The wiper blades conform perfectly in this position per the instructions...I just took a double check...2 original & 2 re-release and all the wiper blades are 100%. (I have seen them on others with a curve up like you mentioned off the windshield in this position) You did a amazing job on your cars & cockpits...I hope my cockpit for this one comes out as nice as yours.
  18. Finishing up my original Vintage Nissan R91CP #58109 (not the re-release). This car in particular was a challenge for several reasons...finding a Nissan R91CP original chassis with a original body kit isn't easy in the US. I came across a original roller on ebay with a Tamiya 53106 RD Aluminum Finned Motor Mount Heat-sink already installed. I performed a complete disassembly to clean and inspect before putting back into roller form. The foam tires and wheels were worn out very badly from the previous original owner. No rear wing stay mount, motor or electronics came with the car so sourcing those replacement parts took some time. The body kit is a original Tamiya brown box from a long time Tamiya modeler he had stashed away which included a NIP set of black wheels, foam tires, driver cockpit and original Nissan R91CP decal sheet which includes the Good Year licensed decals for the side, front fenders, rear spoiler and foam tires. I thought of doing a build thread but got side tracked trying to get to this point of the project. I decided on the P-30 brilliant blue "Calsonic livery" over the P-4 darker blue per the instruction manual. Both P-30 / P-4 blues look great on the R91CP. I still have to install the motor, electronics and complete the rare factory group c driver cockpit. By accident I installed the incorrect rear wing stay (this one is for the Mazda 787B). So technically this would be a partial unveiling of what I like to think is one of the top elite group c models (next to the Mazda 787B) produced by the Tamiya Factory.
  19. Finished up painting the wheels for one of my Nissan R91CP. Two coats PS-48 semi gloss silver, hand brush two coats X-18 semi gloss black, two coats TS-13 clear.
  20. Thanks. This one was built for display. I have a original one #58092 pictured below that was raced & gets driven from time to time. The (Group C's) are fun to drive and hard to beat when it comes to scale realism. The XJR-12 reacts well on smooth surfaces because of the low slug body in the rear. Trying to keep it off the barriers is the main objective because the bodies are costly and very hard to come by.
  21. Here's my Group C Jaguar XJR-12...It has a custom driver cockpit, Tamiya GT correct motor, Futaba servo, carbon fiber Tamiya rear shaft, Lunsford titanium turn buckles, Tamiya titanium and aluminum screws, aluminum nuts, Tamiya motor mount aluminum heat sync, custom painted correct wheels, factory finish body paint and Tamiya Hop Up rear shock and spring. Also has anodized matching lug nuts and body clips.
  22. Finishing up a original #50458 Nissan R91CP Calsonic blue, adding light buckets for another R91CP & still waiting on Tamiya wheel paint to arrive seller shipped out the wrong PS-48 Silver...
  23. Waiting for Paint to arrive for another original Nissan R91CP project. I must be crazy...
