  1. This had better have a happy ending... I too will be rescuing an M03 damsel from the clutches of a beast of an M04 'rear'ing up on her. But that's a story for another time...
  2. <sings> da-da-da, da-da-da, we'll be there on the double...
  3. I like your ideas @BuggyDad. I have a Monster GoPro Super Swift body that has been destined for an MF-01X in the build queue (the Escort body is going on my M-08R) but I likely would upgrade it to the XM-01Pro.
  4. Perhaps wait for a Tamico sale - it will likely still be over the minimum order value threshold
  5. I retract my previous Futurama meme. I can't afford that
  6. Oddly enough, I saw a little video of a Dakar truck earlier and the top cover looked to be fabric, not rigid like the sides. To reduce the CoG, I guess?
  7. 4WD M Chassis? Insert Futurama 'Take My Money' meme here.
  8. Is this new? I don't follow race cars. https://www.instagram.com/p/C2t4rd4uTjw/?igsh=azF3aTVieHRneDl3
  9. Blockhead Motors had a 'Daytona' liveried Squash Van on their feed the other day but I doubt it is a teaser for a new model
  10. Ordered a couple of servos in the faint hope that I might actually do something RC-related. Not pictured - the asbestos roof has been removed from my garage ready for demolition in a few weeks time.
  11. TamiyaUSA posted on Instagram that there would be some new RC releases. I tried to zoom in on the convention photo they posted and found it watermarked 'Tamiyablog'
  12. Having seen your other builds, I think your attention to detail will make a white body look less toyish. Things like panel lines will really help. Really looking forward to to seeing your progress.
  13. Really nice truck with a great colourway and stickers. Enjoy!
  14. Tamico are doing a CC-02 chassis kit for 117EUR. Tamico CC-02 chassis kit Though their minimum order (to the UK) is 160EUR I guess that leaves room for hop ups?!
  15. I've had an RC dream since I got into the hobby. Well, actually I've had many project ideas, most of which never get past the planning stage and too many which get to the 'all the bits in the garage but never assembled' stage. I bought a TB-05 Pro in 2019 to work on my 'dream' project. It has sat unbuilt in the box ever since. The last time I had an idea like this it was for a Tamiya Trophy Rat. I got all the bits and then Associated brought theirs out and the wind disappeared from my sails. So I'm keeping schtum this time.
  16. Well, he reversed his decision to quit over image attachment limits back in November 22 after enough of us pleaded for him to stay.... It is a real shame that he has such a aversion of third party image hosting. So much of that beautiful work he shared is lost to broken links. You'll find his Insta profile here https://www.instagram.com/pretend_rc_shop?igsh=dGRpN21ycnZtbXo0
  17. Some nice sandwich options listed here but I'm partial to a cheese toastie. Simple fella, simple tastes. As for RC activity, I recently purchase a new (to me) car from an esteemed member here. And today I renewed my Tamiyaclub membership. I look forward to reviewing everyone's exploits (coz let's face it, I get naff all done) over the next 12 months.
  18. The main site has always been there @Willy iine - you'll find a link in the burger menu at the top of the forum page. Until a recent forum update, the Tamiyaclub banner used to take you to it. There are also the Showroom updates linked from the forum homepage too. It is even the root page from the forum address. I believe the main site was here before the forum (kind of makes sense) and the clue is in the name - it is a club. Typically, you pay membership to a club. For such membership you receive benefits (in this instance showrooms, eligibility to enter competitions). It baffles me why you continue to 'knock' Tamiyaclub whilst prolifically posting in the forum. Yes, there are more prominent platforms out there. TC has been around quite a long time and so is a bit of an anachronistic dinosaur (some of the clubs and things from it's heyday aren't really a thing any more) but the subscription model works for contemporaries such as MSUK and Scalebuildersguild. You don't have to join the club but if you did, I think you'd find that they aren't elitist in the slightest. They are enthusiasts, like you. There is no cost to browse the main site either, you'll find the comments and 'hearts' for the pictures shared will confirm this. If you don't want to, that's fine. But please don't think you don't matter.
  19. Modelsport are affiliated with another, broader forum - MSUK. Though they don't provide discounts.for that, occasional raffle prizes for members instead.
  20. I messaged him and whilst he's doing Kyosho tyres at the moment, he might look at other brands in the future. Fingers crossed for Wild Willy / Blazing Blazer tyres in the absence of hwpeterl / Scale Elements RC Shop.
  21. Fantastic work in this thread. Seeing your progress in the 'So, what have you...' brought me over for a closer look. It will be amazing have something that you designed and built, with all the accrued knowledge and experience of designing in 3D. Very, very cool
