Is it a reversing y cable or do you need one?
Edit: something like this?
I get confused with these set-ups myself!
I ended up with a six-channel tx that could manage it at tx level.

I'm also indebted to a TC member who posted a link to these body hole markers. I've scrolled back but haven't found the post!
They came with a body reamer I didn't need but I also picked up an RX for my recently purchased M07 (or whichever car I get running next).

Today I received a very well packed Toyota Yaris body from @toyolien. Thank you so much!
I've had an idea to get this one painted up by Father's Day - revisting a fun morning I had with my Dad and my son a few years ago.
Let's see if I manage it!

Many thanks to @toyolien for the deal, the Wild One skid plate is a bit random… but you know how it goes 😂
I think you've had my share. I like the shell but the chassis has never appealed!

Today I asked someone about tyres.
That's it.
Maybe get back to some proper RC one day.

@jonboy1 has said just the same thing to me 😊
I'll start clearing a space in the garage
Only kidding....honest. I already have an XV-01T that is built and never been run....

I've always had a hankering for that body - have the MF-01X already (Escort) but as yet unbuilt.

There are more 'scale' trucks out there than Tamiya but most of them are quite / very expensive. Things like Cross RC
Or even Traxxas
Slightly cheaper are the Chinese versions
Tyres could be key - a scale model doesn't look right wearing the wrong boots.
A look at the Scalebuildersguild forum should also provide some inspiration - some fantastic scratch builds over there.

Good luck with the move!
Looking forward to seeing their new home.

I have 3d printed M04 body posts for this very reason.

Naturally, I'm already considering the best layout to make it both a home office and R/C workshop! Considering which angles the webcam will point in as to where I could arrange my R/C collection and workbench so it's out of view on those virtual meetings
Nice. We were going to have a building to replace our garage but we couldn't decide / agree on it's purpose so opted for a verandah and 'workshop' (insulated shed). It gets installed on Tuesday so my RCs will have a new home and I'll continue to WFH at the dining table.
I think you should have your shelfers on display behind you - the Frog on my desk at work has prompted some fun conversations. You can always blur your background if you prefer!
Enjoy the process - lots of fun

Your point about managing the point of failure echoes other threads about aftermarket hop ups and using alu arms - tubs / chassis are typically more difficult / expensive to replace vs arms.
Enjoying your progress!

I use MIP speed tips in a micro stubby ratchet handle. The handle was cheapish but great to have a ratchet function, the tips more expensive but the quality is definitely higher than my Tamiyas (though the T ones are a bit old now).

Twin Detonator
Tamiya USA Twin Detonator Manual
WT-01
Both use 50736 sprue for hubs - as does the TL01
Both use 5688 for arms
Here's the WR02G if you need it

My second recent purchase from a TC member. This time, the most excellent @Grumpy pants
I have always wanted an M07 and this shell is a very similar colour to the Bluebird my Dad had when I was a kid (he bought it off his Dad!). Need to find a photo...

Thank you @jonboy1
As my M03 / M04 Minotaur Mini Monster didn't quite work out so I needed to repurpose the chassis.
I had a vague plan that would see me push the modelling aspect of a build far further than I have tried before. Though not quite to the level of some of the recent builds on here!
This kind gentleman has *ahem* enabled me to start the project with a spacer to extend my chassis to a 239mm wheelbase.
I have some parts on order from Shapeways too.
This is a long term project and I'll only share the results if I feel they stand scrutiny

I'm not a buggy guy (so I tell myself) but I wish I'd bought a 2020 re-re of the Terra Scorcher - a nice sorted buggy with a box art scheme I actually like.
If I had, I probably wouldn't have got on the pre-release hype train for the TD4. Which I still haven't built.
I also wish I'd bought a CC-01 Lowrider Pajero. I do like that bodyshell.
A couple of seconds hand deals I missed out on
- a CC-01 Touareg
- a nicely hopped up CR-01 on TC - I was away for the weekend and missed emails to my work phone from the seller. He thought I was ignoring him so sold it to someone else . I did regret missing that one.

Great to see a build from you, and an entertaining one at that!
Many happy (early) returns - for your birthday and TC!
-
I'm still looking at the witchery of that ESC mounting....
....but I have to agree it looks great.
I feel M-envy.

I saw your post and was on the move at the time. There was no way I could work out what might be wrong without sitting down and drawing it out on paper! My head just couldn't compute...still can't . You're not alone.
The good thing about your new TX is that you'll probably be able to move it from standard 4WD / Crab / 4WS on the fly - lots of fun!
