More body work. This time an Avante. The Body was done ages ago and now it's time to paint the wing and undertray.
PS16 metallic blue
Backed with PS12 silver
The wing was given another coat of blue because the underside will be on show.
I want to give the undertray a coat of black just to finish it off, but I'm out of black paint. Luckily, Modelsport have some in stock.
I love that blue 👍

I've finally finished something!!
Firstly, apologies to @acprc as I've taken a vastly long time to finish his bodies because of this getting in the way - I will make it up to you! Nothing else is in the way of finishing yours now! Promise!
This has been a very, very long time in the making - most definitely one of those jobs where as soon as you finish one thing you realise there are now 2 new jobs that need solving. I think I've had this for about 15 months all together now - but to be fair I didn't get started on it straight away.
As a brief rundown as I never did a build thread on this, it's a shortened SRB chassis, with a custom rear damper mount setup, custom radio box (accepts a longitudinally mounted battery) custom body mounts, 3D printed motor mounted to modified rear cage, custom front bumper, custom steering setup, fully customised body with lowered front wings, all holes filled, nose shortened and tucked, custom lights front and rear, custom rollbar plus other bits I've forgotten.
This will head off to its owner this week.
That looks super cool 👍

Today I eventually ran my only full time shelfer left. I took it easy on it as it's delicate and vintage to the last screw, it felt a bit like walking on ice but it was good to finally scratch the itch! Hear the chain driven 4wd, see it in action. Like all Marui buggies, I find the Samurai truly gorgeous. It sweats '80s from every pore
Fortunately, no damage done.
That does look good

See how I skilfully manage to keep the primer out of the corners whilst build up enough to run down the lower right side of the door...
Ive added some RP wheel arches, this is a dummy run on the monster beetle before i attempt a sand scorcher custom.. the primer really is good at exposing all your flaws...
Can't wait to see this 👍

I hope there's plenty of pics

Thanks at least it's a starting point for me, I do have the original shocks so that is definitely an option 👍
-
Hi all, now I've sorted my motor and steering I'm looking at what shocks I can put on it, ideally coilover style is what I'm after more for looks really, I want it to look fairly realistic but I am open to suggestions, I have tried searching and found some great pictures of members cars with coilovers on but there's no reference as to what they are or where they got them from and if there is the link didn't work many thanks in advance jeff

I'm sorry hijacking this thread I have the same problem with my rising storm df02 since going brushless, but mine is mainly used on tarmac,I'm sure they are Schumacher road tyres with foam they are very soft rubber, is there any recommendations for better tyres?
