  1. I have the similar problem with off brand Chinese "high torque" servo saver, but my issue was the top hat and bottom half were binding against the servo horn when the screw is torqued down on the servo splined shaft. I had to place a plastic spacer to free it up. But still, the C-Spring wasn't strong enough for my Juggernaut's big tires, and makes the truck really clumsy... I'm either going with just a solid aluminum servo horn that came with the servos, or save up for a good quality one. My servos are the 9imod 60KG HV with brushless motor.
  2. Check something out for me, tighten the top hat without the C springs installed. The horn should move freely. if not, then you'd need a little bit of a spacer between the top hat and the bottom splined half. As for the C spring, maybe make out of some tubing?
  3. Not my TY channel, but here's a couple of "Clod-Pounders" which looks pretty good if you ask me...
  4. I'm glad to share that information. I want each of my trucks to have their own radio, so I might buy another one for my Clodbuster...
  5. what do you use for tubing if I may ask? I'm kind of decent with soldering/brazing, but probably not if it's aluminum...
  6. I like it! I might do something similar for one or two of my Clodbusters, since the chassis is one of the weakest part. I even broke one just during assembly!!!
  7. I didn't have to solder the pins, I just bent them alternating the direction and it held. Then I hacked it. I got the Xmitter and RCVR for less than $40 USD from AliX, and the ST Link V2 programmer from Ebay for less than $8 USD, I probably could have found one from AliX for cheaper. All in all less than $50 for an 8CH radio, well probably a little more if you want the ful 8CH function, because mine only came with the 3CH RCVR, but that's all I need for now, until I put lights and such.
  8. For my Juggernaut I'm using a hacked Flysky FS GT-3C. I have the rear end point at about 50% and the front less than 100%, to where I have about a millimeter before the bump stops hits. I have my controller set to where I can have just front steering, 4WS, rear steering only, and crab steering.
  9. My limited slip differential experiment for the Clodbuster… I had to shorten one of the brass bevel joint to shift the differential to avoid the counter gear. It’s shown in my YouTube video. Shameless plug… 😅
  10. I love Juggernauts! Unique leaf spring suspension for monster trucks. Not everyone likes it. But I might change the shocks to make the suspension just a little softer. I've tried without, but that made the leaf springs a bit unstable.
  11. Thanks! Means a lot coming from you. I was talking to Martin (Mad Inventor) before he passed away about making me a motor plate. He was the first one I told about this setup. Might not work for your setup though, might hit the top suspension links.
  12. Thanks! I hope I don't disappoint. I noticed that Juggernauts don't get much love around here... I already have a video out for one of these builds:
  13. Coming up next on my YT channel, three different Clodbuster builds. A resto- mod of an original 1987 Clod (stockish build with modern ESC), one with brushless motors, and one with aluminum suspension arms…
  14. If I wasn't going to go with the original Juggernaut Tires and wheels, I was going to go with those RC4WD tires and Proline Brawler wheels... Do a single motor like me...
  15. I also have an original Juggernaut, which I've upgraded the axles with the care package. The gearbox is still original, it seems to hold for now, but I've only started running her this week. She was shelved for 9 years. I won it off of eBay, it didn't come with all the parts, and the original cabin had a busted front and missing front bumper, so I'm using the Ford F-350 HighLift body, which is fine by me, because it has bigger wheel wells and looks more fitting. I just wished it didn't have the slots for the windshield wipers. I've modified the motor mounting plate to accept a single 1/8 scale brushless motor. Still in experimental stage, like I said only had a few days this week to actually test her out, but I've been giving her full throttle, and makes the wheels spin in the tires. I've 3D printed some parts to modify her and make it a little unique. I just started filming my build, link down below if you're interested check out what I've done so far. Here's a quick plug to my YouTube channel : Single MONSTER Brushless Motor idea for Tamiya Juggernaut/TXT (youtube.com)
  16. I’m hoping to get more views to my YouTube channel… 😅 Nothing special really… https://youtube.com/@galkawarrior?si=YWA-Vk3ucYvtFH80 Here a few screen shots… I was going to convert to TXT-2 style suspension, but decided to stick with the leaf springs after all. 😬
