is this the i have a money tree thread? -
Im about to grab a KR. I wanted to grab some input if anybody has $.02 to share. Im also still looking at the KD but i found a NIB KR for what i think is a great price. I want t at dirt branch out a bit from Tamiya as im about full up on Tamiya kits that im interested in. Ive built my list if you will with the exception of 201 and 501/503. Ive looked at Associated and feel like Schumacher is where i want to branch out. I dont carpet race so im looking at "dirt" kits.

Had a crazything happen when building a FROG today. the chassis disintegrated where part MR7 is installed( STEP 1). . Snugged the screw and noticed about 25 min later that part of the chassis was falling apart.

How many spares do you really go through?

ive broken my 380 grasshopper like 5 times. dont think the motor really has all that much to do with it. i have a m06 on 540 thats way fast. just saying that motors and use arent an excuse for parts being unavailable -

I think the issues with spares are simple, U dont need them till u need them. If u need them then spares are an issue. I do wish tamiya had a good replacement program but they dont and we know that. For those of us who run our cars this is obviously an issue. For shelf queen builders it is not. All that being said, I recently had my go to top force have quite a nasty mistaken crash. I needed basically the whole right rear end. I got the parts trees from a member here so worked out for me. However if that didnt happen there was a good chance id be on the hunt to use a car i bought, built and drove. So i dont think its a question of how many extra parts do we actually need. Its a question of why cant we get them. -
Those rims are nice looking. Im a bit lost trying to understand the $3600 chassis and the economical $1600 chassis?
-
have you priced out cost and shipping for all parts not included in sale? id just do the math and go from there.

What was tamiya's peak year in the 80s.
Finnsllc replied to Super ally's topic in General discussions
yup, 1986 -
just to say, ive had no issue with rcjaz
-
just go with a sport or torque tuned motor, they are inexpensive. 3000-4000 mah battery pack again inexpensive. possibly check out your pinion and change it for a slightly more performance one. thats it. unless u wanna go lipo and brushless and hit the rabbit hole. tires are great u already have for what u described
-
only thing i would say is if the kit is for a little guy a modern track offroad buggy is gonna get stuck offroad.

@Carmine A Ha maybe try my hands at a rust bucket sleeper
